We Can See You Hate The Way We Intermingle
Who: Participants of the Freaky Fusions Boss Battle!
Where: Birth Island, in the Sevii Islands!
When: Thursday, October 29th through Friday, October 30.
Summary: You blinked, and now you've been glitched. And that sure is a spooky-looking Fusion Legendary, all right...
Rating: PG-13; please remember to mark threads accordingly if they go higher!
Log:

Well, draw some intersecting lines and call me a Triforce, this sure is an island, all right.
KEY:
• The GLOWING X at the upper portion of the island is where you will find Mewssingno! It won't be moving around much, so it will always be in the relative top section of the island, furthest from the safe haven for participants in the south. Exercise caution getting close to it, because...
• The PURPLE area surrounding Mewssingno is all area that will be affected by glitches! Inside that area, strange environmental things are likely to occur, such as attacks being deflected, neutralized, or outright disappearing and reappearing somewhere else, as if passing through a very small wormhole in space! You may play around with these effects as much as you like, but they should be contained to this particular area, and remember to ask permission from other players before randomly diverting a Hyper Beam through a wormhole directly at them in tags.
• STANDARD GRASSY areas in the lower part of the map are places in which characters are guaranteed to be safe from Mewssingno's glitches; however, these areas will be overrun by Fusion Abominations, so if you're just here for the garden-variety fighting of SquirtWeedMagneZards, this is probably where you'll be spending a lot of your time!
• The BLUE STAR in the south indicates a guaranteed safe zone from both Mewssingno and the Fusion Abominations. This is the station where a ferry to the island would dock, so you can find places to sit and a general atmosphere of relative quiet in here, making it a good place to store your wounded or to hide out. Characters may notice ICly that the Fusion Abominations and Mewssingno are avoiding this zone, or at least leaving it alone!
~
☆ DON'T FORGET TO CHECK IN WITH YOUR PARTICIPATION HERE! ☆.
REMEMBER: IF YOUR CHARACTER DOES NOT POST TO THE BOSS BATTLE LOG AT LEAST ONCE
(AS A TOP-LEVEL COMMENT OR IN RESPONSE TO SOMEONE ELSE'S TOP-LEVEL COMMENT)
BEFORE 11:59 PM EST on OCTOBER 30, THEY WILL NOT COUNT TOWARD THE PARTICIPANT-BASED SURPRISE IN STORE!

Korra - OTA
[One minute she's in her hotel room wondering if Pokemon get fleas, the next...]
[Korra has no idea what's going on. She hasn't been here long enough to have heard all the stories about past Octobers, and suddenly she's on some strange island and hell is breaking more than just loose. Her mind flashes back to Republic City not long before she came here. Where are her friends? How did she get shot through time and space without warning again? What is that in the distance? All of her fur is standing on end and her lip curls of its own accord as her shaggy, pointed ears swivel. Her tail is a rigid bottlebrush, standing at attention from between her shirt and pants. Her massive, furred hands ball into fists and it's just instinct that makes her drop into a Bending stance....]
[So much for a quiet relaxing vacation in a magical world. She doesn't have much time to register more than 'danger' and 'time to fight' before the fusions take notice of her and start to advance.]
B- Purple
[Getting closer to the giant Demonic Poke-Thing maybe wasn't the best idea. Korra and Iqniq are doing everything they can to try and hit the thing, but it's like the normal laws of physics packed up and took off as soon as trouble started.]
[But that's not going to stop the Avatar from trying everything she can think of.]
purple
Look what forced Asami out of the bathroom! Impending multidimensional destruction!
"We're Dark types, so the Psychic attacks don't matter! We just need to be careful of all the other weird... stuff!"
no subject
Throwing herself at it and trying to claw it into submission seemed like as good idea as any at this point.
no subject
"We would be better off keeping our distance and just fighting the smaller ones!" Asami couldn't shake the foreboding feeling that something awful could happen at any second.
no subject
But she had a point. What would work? Korra let her team try and handle the things in the immediate range, noting that it wasn't just their attacks that went weird. Everything acted like it was passing through a mirror, or something. She kept close to Asami, ears and tail rigid and perked.
"There's gotta be a pattern to it. It's like some kind of reflection or refraction or something." She knew Asami would get what she meant, even if she wasn't entirely sure she was using the right words for what she was trying to describe. "It's like when light hits a crystal!"
no subject
"Maybe we should just..." Asami trailed off. Should just what? There wasn't anything they could do. She didn't have any resources here. She was essentially useless, and it was grating on her. Scaring her.
"We need to get out of the immediate fire zone so we can actually think of something to do." Without getting hurt.
no subject
But Asami especially looked like she really didn't want to be here. That was the deciding factor.
"Okay." Korra nodded. "You're right, let's fall back."

Green
The source of the beam turns out to be a nearby Dragonite, who gestures at Korra to come over to him as he roars a challenge at the assembled abominations. Behind him is an area that looks relatively clear... aside from the Magnezone floating in the middle, two Alakazam perched on it.
No wait. Only one of them's an Alakazam. On closer inspection one looks like a hybrid of one with a human woman.]
Over here! To me!
no subject
[Korra doesn't waste any time and leaps to join her new ally. Those things just keep coming! She knocks one out and three more are there to take its place. That beam of whatever it was came just in time.]
[Even better, it looks like her rescuer has some way of shielding against the messed up critters. She wipes her shaggy hair out of her face with her forearm and exhales gratefully as she joins the little group, her Pokemon at her heels. Iqniq her Growlithe isn't looking as perky as usual. Korra doesn't blame him.]
Where are they all coming from?
no subject
[Mid-explanation, Twilight nods at her Alakazam, and Starswirl warps the two of them down to talk to Korra face to face while Tesla stays on watch.]
I caught a glimpse of it a bit ago, it's some sort of... I don't know how to describe it except that it just looks wrong. I'm pretty sure it's the cause of all this madness. I've set up this area here with my Pokemon holding the hybrids off for us to rest and regroup before trying to take it on, at least as long as my Pokemon can hold out.
[Her statement is punctuated by a Heracross punching some sort of Parasect/Butterfree hybrid so hard that it smashes into the hybrids behind it like bowling pins.]
I think we can hold this ground for a while. I'm Twilight Sparkle, by the way.
no subject
The giant possessed looking thing? Yeah, I sort of saw it... what is it? I mean, I know it's some kind of Pokemon thing. But other than that...
[It's a lot bigger than any Pokemon she's heard of yet - which really isn't many, she hasn't even been here a month - and nobody's told her about anything like this happening.]
I'm Korra. I'd say it's nice to meet you, but...
[She gestures over her shoulder at all the chaos outside the little protected area. Her Sentret and her Geodude are sticking close by her, same as Iqniq.]
My team and I can definitely give you a hand! Nobody's really a high level or anything, but they're tough and they've got a lot of heart.
no subject
[Terribly, terribly wrong.]
Every bit of help we can get is useful! With yours, I think it'd be best if you sent them to work directly with mine. Are those three your whole team?
no subject
I've got a Wooper, a Magikarp and a Tentacool, but they're not doing so great right now. Woop-Woop really took a couple of nasty hits...
[And obviously a Magikarp wasn't going to be much use in a fight like this.]

A
Korra! Are you all right?!
[It's hard to tell with the skull-like mask of a Froslass covering half of her head, but her expression is filled with nothing but worried. She isn't... as scared as she could be, really, since she was around for the chaotic battle in October last year, but that doesn't mean she isn't still worried about her friends.]
no subject
[Korra spins around and lashes out with a clawed foot at a particularly nasty looking sludge turtle thing with way too big a tongue makes a swipe for her. She hasn't bothered to try and put shoes on since she changed. At least her own transformation hasn't hindered her mobility in the slightest. If anything, she's stronger and more durable - which says a lot, as she's pretty strong and durable normally.]
[She really wishes the answer to 'where are her friends?' would stop being 'also here, in kind of hell'.]
They just keep coming!
no subject
BUT NO SHE CAN'T THINK ABOUT THAT NOW. Thankfully, while Elsa is distracted, Fenrir isn't, and he sends another Fire Blast straight at some... horrible oozing flower thing.]
Could this be where all of them were originally created? I don't know how they could've gotten off this island, though...!
no subject
[Korra takes a flying leap over a small pack of flopping, Magikarp fusions to land beside Elsa. All of this chaos as her blood up and her heart racing in ways that aren't exactly unpleasant. It always does.]
Do you think that thing up north could be controlling them?
no subject
Possibly... but I wouldn't recommend trying to attack it. Something like that... [She recalls what happened in October of last year, with the leviathans Team Aqua and Team Magma had summoned...] With beasts like that, just attacking them won't work.
no subject
[These hybrid things have been causing enough trouble. Maybe this isn't her world and she doesn't have her bending here, but that doesn't make her any less of an Avatar. And this thing is One Big Threat.]
[It needs to go down.]
It has to have a weakness.

B!
[ Poor Anna's getting positively toppled; she doesn't have much in mind other than simply brute-forcing it, after all. Clefairy can always Metronome, but that's always a gamble... ]
I promise, stuff like this doesn't normally happen.
no subject
[Korra spin kicks something that looks like a minotaur made out of rock out of the way and hustles over to Anna, clawing and punching and snarling at the fusions around them. This shape definitely has a couple of bonuses when it comes to fighting.]
Stick close, we'll be okay!
no subject
[ She can take care of some of the small fries, though, punching their lights out and spitting some fire on them while they're down..she can throw a pretty solid fist out! ]
You got any ideas there? I'm more of a "throw out hits until I make contact" kind of girl, but, that might be dangerous..
no subject
[Korra doesn't have much of a plan now that she's gotten this close to the thing, either. She's never seen anything like it.]
Even the soldier mashups or whatever they are disappear half the time I'm trying to kick one and appear over there or something.

[Korra sighs and takes advantage of a brief quiet moment to rake her shaggy hair back and secure it as best she can. It's half fur.]
If there was some...pattern or something, to the way everything gets messed up this close, we could use that...
[But Korra hasn't noticed any.]
Maybe we should just start launching attacks in different directions and see where they land?
