Today was clearly the bestest day ever!

After having discovered word of a candyshop nearby Beckett had begged, and begged, and begged, and begged Artemis to take him, and finally the older boy caved. It was a good thing too because as Artemis probably deduced if he held out for too long Beckett might run off and try to find the place on his own.

Having devoured his free sample and with big brother keeping a careful hand on the rest of the treats in the bag, Beckett had been allowed one sucker for himself.

And because he loved to see them all at once, he had set loose all four of his pokemon partners and now the small group was traveling through the park each with a sucker of their own.

Stampy the Phanpy seemed thrilled about his treat and every so often he would march with it like a baton held in his tiny trunk.

Toaster the Weedle was also excited about it and cautiously crawled inside Beckett's backpack where it could safely eat without fear of thieves.

The as for the moment unnamed Plusel was happy with her sucker as well...very happy. In fact she hadn't even licked it yet she was just hugging it.

And Seefor the Pineco had eaten her pokepop in one angry sounding crunch.

Afterwards however she didn't attempt to explode on anyone so it must have worked to make her feel better.

Artemis walked beside Beckett, he'd given the younger boy the benefit of the doubt and not insisted about holding hands. He didn't think Beckett could outrun Diana if he made a bolt for it anyway, besides, this way he didn't have to hold his siblings glucose-covered hands.

Both Diana and Artemis were in a better mood now they'd left the shop. Artemis had known the moment he spotted the advertisement Beckett would somehow managed to drag his older brother there, luckily for him, Artemis was not short on cash, unluckily for Artemis, that meant even with firm 'nos' here and there Beckett still had Artemis carrying this bag laden with sweets (which Artemis was determined to prevent Beckett consuming at his usual rapid speed when confectioneries were concerned and had explicitly told him was also to share with Kisa).

The older trainer and his Pokémon had not been amused when after purchasing their products Beckett had already wrapped his lips around one sucker and was attempting with sticky fingers to force the same said sucker into his big brothers and companys mouths with indignant cries of 'but it's really good!'

Eventually, the ruffled Eevee and pouty child had been calmed and Diana had been coaxed into trying a Poképop that Beckett offered, immediately repairing the friendship between the two. (Artemis still flat out refused any sweets though, he still had an aversion to lollypops to this day.)

They walked on back to their hotel room, relatively calmly given the odd group, thankfully, this was not a too odd site in the Pokémon world and they received more glances of affection towards Beckett and his 'buddies' rather than questioning looks.

Artemis made the decision that Beckett had been relatively well behaved during this outing. "Beckett, would you like to cut through the park?" He hoped he wouldn't regret this later.

Beckett stopped short and spun to face Artemis his eyes sparkling with excitement, "Can we?!" He Artemis probably could have said "Would you like to run all the way home" and Beckett would have been just as enthusiastic.

Not that Artemis actually would ever say something like that. Running. A terrible means of transportation.

"That is, if you can remain well behaved?" He gave his brother an expectant look.

Beckett jumped into the air just once and when he landed he stumbled and stood up straight and rigid giving Artemis a salute. Fallowing his example Stampy and Plusle did the same. Pineco simply scowled.

Artemis patted Becketts head, just once, before nodding. "Alright then. Come this way."

Diana yawned from atop Artemis shoulder and glowered at the Pineco.

Beckett allowed himself to be led towards the park having very little actual idea where he was right now. He'd been so excited about going to the candy shop he wasn't entirely sure how to get back home without his brother.

As the park came into sight though he could contain himself no longer and took off running with Stampy thundering after him and scooping up Plusle in the process. Seefor just rolled her eyes and rolled along with Artemis not that interested in exerting herself in a silly chase.

Artemis quietly headed for the nearest bench, being sure to keep Beckett in his sights as he sat down.

Casually, he reached inside his bag to release his own four infant Pokémon, who in turn gave happy calls and raced after Beckett. Diana continued to stay beside him, ears pricked up and eyes on the children like some sort of sentry nanny.

"Hahahaha catch me catch me!" Beckett called to Stampy as they raced around the trees. Stampy wasn't as fast but he was giving it his best thundering along. He took a turn sharply and Plusel tumbled off Stampy's back landing on her head. Beckett and Stampy carried on oblivious as Seefor rolled over very slowly.

When plusel sat up again she didn't even seemed phased and instead climbed ontop of Seefor much to the pineco's dismay. Seefor tried to shake her off and rolled wildly. Plusle simply trotted backwards and managed to keep her balance perfectly.

Hephaestus and Helios scrambled after Beckett while Apollo dashed past them quickly, clearing the balancing Plusel in one swift jump as Metis floated contently after the group.

Beckett cheered and attempted to shimmy up a tree, making it halfway before Stampy rammed into the trunk making it shake. Beckett fall laughing and landing on Phanpy who carried him away in a crooked line with surprising strength.

Seefor had had just about enough of this non-sense and began to glow preparing to explode. For her part, Plusle seemed oblivious to the danger she was in.

"Beckett." Artemis called, tone tinged with slight warning. "Stay within sight."

At that very moment, Hephaestus rammed into Seefor with the force of a speeding train.

"Kay!" Beckett called back and Stampy took that as a signal to come charging back towards Artemis.

Seefor let out a grunt and was sent spinning and bouncing wildly through the grass like a soccer ball. She exploded by the third bounce and landed with a heavy thud in the grass charred and black and passed out.

Plusle had tumbled from the top when Hephaestus had struck and was now examining a flower very curiously.

Artemis cocked an eyebrow and felt himself tense, eyeing the charging Pokémon with concern, unconvinced it would be able to stop in time. It seemed Diana felt the same way as she jumped off the bench to stand defensively infront of her trainer, bracing herself with her head down and an intense gaze, ready to take on the speeding Pokémon.

The other Pokémon seemed to be ignoring the smoldering Seefor.

"Whoooooooa!" Called Beckett tugging on Stampy's ears. Stampy stopped very suddenly digging his four feet in, causing him to stumble and crash. Rolling into a ball the elephant pokemon rolled clean over Beckett and came to a stop inches away from Diana.

Beckett was no worse for wear just giggling at the mad fun they had just had.

Diana twitched her ears irritably at the Phanpy while Artemis just gave a sigh, massaging his temple with middle and index finger, nursing the headache he could feel coming on. "Beckett..."

Beckett sat up sharply grinning at his brother with dirt and grass in his curly hair, "I'm Beckett!" He waved pleasantly at his less physical brother.

"I know." Oh boy, did he know. No one but Beckett, with the possible exception of Myles when he was following Beckett, could put Artemis this much on edge when concerned for someones safety.

"Come on!" He tried to take Artemis's hand and pull him from his seat towards the trees.

"Gonna climb!"

Artemis followed his little brother obediently but didn't look very pleased. "Climb?"

"Yes climb!"

He latched onto a tree and began to shimmy and scurry up the tree breaking off bits of bark as he did. "Come on!"

"As... Interesting as that looks I'm afraid I'm not prepared for climbing today. Perhaps some other time."

Artemis folded his arms, looking up the tree and trying to set himself up accordingly incase Beckett should fall, knowing that trying to dissuade him from climbing all together would fall on deaf ears.

"Prepare?" Beckett snorted at his brothers absurdity, "Prepare what?"

As he climbed the tree shook and a couple berries fell from the leaves.

Artemis ignored his little brothers scoffing. "Injuries and strains. Among other things."

He stepped back to avoid the berries, not wanting the stains on his suit.

"Please try to refrain from falling." He wasn't overly pleased about how high his brother was getting up that tree.

"Artemis is silly!" Beckett argued going higher still. Even Myles could have found something scientific about climbing to motivate him into following Beckett if he were there.

Toaster popped his head out hearing a familiar noise and upon seeing they were in a tree he slithered out from Becett's bag and along one of the branches to chew on the leaves.

Stampy let out a whine and began to pound is feet on the ground at the base of the tree. He wanted to climb too!

Artemis gave a sigh and turned to Diana, who was stood beside his ankle, looking unimpressed. "Diana, please, if you would?" He gestured to the tree.

Diana gave a nod and bounded up the tree with grace and skill to keep an eye on her trainers sibling, easily ascending from branch to branch.

Artemis noticed Stampys agitation and reached down to pet it in an effort to calm it down.
