log. +goldenrod, Fuji, Rise and Yukimura
Who:
reimprovise,
restardom and
loseyoursenses
Where: Goldenrod, right outside the department store. Then, possibly moving onto a tennis court.
When: 6pm, backdated to the 19th.
Summary: Rise gets taught how to wave a tennis racket with great justice by Yukimura, whohas a tendency to nurture flowers by shouting at them is more than happy to imbue her with tennis proficiency. Fuji sits back and enjoys.
Rating: PG
[Having informed Yukimura in his usually vague manner about the small get together, Fuji now finds himself walking forth to the department store, notably ten minutes late and not looking particularly put-off by it. He has his tennis bag with him, slung over one shoulder, and is notably only limping slightly on his injured ankle. A digital camera dangles from his neck, secured by a strap. By his side, a Froslass is floating gracefully, a few bottles of water in her cold grasp. The marvels of portable refrigeration.
Upon reaching the meeting point, he raises an hand in greeting, light.]
Ah, sorry. Got lost a little on the road of life -- you know how it is. I hope I didn't keep the two of you waiting terribly.
[ooc: Yukimura of Prince of Tennis fame needs a tag! o/ Also, tagging order - Rise --> Yukimura --> Fuji?]

[He picks up his own racket, demonstrating for her, and of course it's second nature to him - but he's taught enough beginners that he's careful to show her exactly how to hold it.]
This is the Eastern grip, we can start here. Learn it until it's second nature.
[And he is fully intending to teach Rise the basics of tennis - grip, stance, swings - and they might even get to serving today. Maybe. If she does well.]
no subject
... But she is still going to be just a little worn down by the end of the lesson, panting just a bit. ]
My arm's gonna weigh a ton tomorrow...
no subject
The ache is just a sign of hard work. As you get better, it'll get easier and easier. You're doing well, Rise-san, and I'm sure that you can do even better.
no subject
Waving jauntily as they near the duo, towels and bottles of cold water in hand.]
Translation - biweekly lessons and a racket of your very own? [Cheerfully offering the water and towels to both of them - a nod towards Yukimura, then back at Rise.] But I'd say great progress was made. How do you feel?
no subject
Like my racket totally weighs more than it should-- but it's kind of like the choreography practice back home, so it's... I don't know, sorta familiar? If I keep at it, like Yukimura-san said, I'll be fine. [ there's a sheepish smile, comparing tennis to dancing, as she accepts the water and starts toweling off her face. ] I didn't think you were watching, though.
no subject
I find it's best to simply assume that Fuji is usually watching. Then, when he isn't, you can be pleasantly surprised.
[After that bit of teasing, he takes a towel and water from Fuji with a smile.]
This has been a good start, I think.
no subject
he blinks at the teasing, before offering a quirk of his own lips. though really, if he knows anything of Yukimura by now, it's that they share similar temperaments.]
Oh, dear, I think I've just been read. [a bit of a laugh, delighted.] But I think it's worth mentioning that if you play tennis enough, you naturally develop a second set of eyes on the back of your head.
[that being said, he turns back to Rise, mock thoughtful] Though you know what would be the best of two worlds? If you could mix dance choreography with the swing of a racket.
no subject
Much to her surprise, she's actually enjoying it, and shoots Yukimura a grin at his comment. ] That's pretty good advice, actually!
[ and with a humorous headtilt in Fuji's direction ] If you think of the court like a stage, it's probably not that hard.
no subject
Perhaps you can keep that in mind for the future. It might be useful.
[Yukimura puts his racket away carefully, glancing at Fuji once again.]
And I suppose that's where we'll end for the day - it's only too bad that you're injured, Fuji. I wanted to play you.
no subject
[He then pulls out a bag, holding out to the two of them -- they can drop their towels off in there, if need be, and any empty bottles. It always pays to be prepared, he's found. Mock cheerfully, to Yukimura--]
Well, falling ruins are a little hard to prepare for, really, or I would have given you warning beforehand. Cafe, ice-cream, my treat? [this last bit is directed both to Yukimura and Rise-- though a glint of a glance at the former. it's a bit of a compromise, but also a promise -- he'll owe you a match.]
no subject
Are you up for it, Yukimura-san? [ and now she turns to the captain, dropping her towel in the bag. The water bottle isn't quite empty yet. ] It feels like an ice-cream night.
no subject
I think ice cream sounds very good, particularly if Fuji's buying.
[He'll collect that match from Fuji one day. He's looking forward to it.]
no subject
A glance around to make sure that they've collected everything, then he beckons the two to follow, cheerfully.]
Well, then, if there're no objections, I think I know just the parlour. I find that the wasabi ice-cream there goes along really well with the octopus.
no subject
[ perhaps disturbingly so, Rise seems more intrigued than horrified, following along readily. ] Is it really possible to get spicy ice cream?
no subject
[He's kind of intrigued too, he'd heard rumors that Seigaku's Fuji had broken tastebuds, but now he might see proof! How interesting.]
Perhaps you and I can get something a bit more normal, Rise-san.
no subject
I'd also recommend the abalone and seaweed flavors. If you put them together, they make sushi ice-cream.

[Somehow Yukimura thinks it might be fascinating to watch them eat those horrible, horrible things.]
Personally, I'll stick to mint.

no subject
Ew, Shuusuke, that's way too much of a contrast!
no subject
[Why does he know so many strange people. Why.]
no subject
Yes, yes. I suppose I'll have to enjoy it enough for all of us, seeing as some of us simply lack a sense of whimsy.
Oh, here we are. [lo and behold, ice-cream parlour! he opens the door for the two of them, ushering them inside]

[He follows Rise in, he hasn't been here for months - and he hasn't been here before, not being the type to indulge that often. But it should be... interesting.]
no subject
Oh, I certainly wouldn't mind the sound of that. You know me; never one to pass up an opportunity for free lunch.
