Summary: It's been months since Chie saw her best friend in person, so of course she's booking it to meet Yukiko at Cherrygrove. Be prepared for a fluffy reunion scene, ladies and gentlemen.

[The residents of Cherrygrove are used to trainers and their Pokémon coming through at all hours, so the giant Gyarados zooming in from the north barely draws any attention at all. Chie carefully slides off Goldie's back and drops to the ground, wiping her brow. It's been a tiring trip, especially in the summer heat, but she's here.

She turns to give the exhausted Goldie as much of a hug as she can, arms barely reaching partway around the serpent's neck.] Thanks, Goldie. Sorry to push you so hard, but... You understand, right? [Goldie nods, and then rears up to let out a proud -- though somewhat weak -- cry. Chie chuckles and shakes her head.] Right, what was I thinking? That wasn't anything you couldn't handle. I'll drop you off at the center and let you rest for a while, though. Good work.

[With that, Chie calls Goldie back into her Pokéball and looks around.] Man, it feels like it's been forever since I was all the way back here. [She starts toward the local inn, almost bouncing with anticipation with every step. After all this time, she's about to see Yukiko again...]

[ Guess who's happy to have her best friend here? This girl! Not so sure about Chousokabe though. He's growling a bit at Chie, probably upset from being so squished in-between the two of them. So as he squirms and moves she releases him from her hold and uses her free arms to wrap them around Chie's frame. The puppy huffing and laying down beside the two of them. He's probably a little upset that they squished him, sorry Chousokabe. ]

Chie, Chie. I'm so glad to see you .. [ She hugs a little tighter, not wanting her friend to disappear or go away. ]

[Chie will apologize to the poor little Growlithe once she's calmed down a little. But right now there's only room for one person in her head. With Chousokabe out of the way, she slides her arms tighter around Yukiko's waist, completely unwilling to let go.]

Me too... God, I missed you like crazy. I'm so glad you're finally here...

[ Yukiko nuzzles into the girl's shoulder, the tears she tried to hold back begin falling down her cheeks. She hiccups a little from crying, it's just so good to be reunited!! ]

How long have you been here? [ She knows she can't hug any tighter, so she just sort of buries her face in Chie's shoulder, sniffling every now and then. ]

[Aww, geez, Chie's heart. She holds Yukiko as close as she can, lifting one hand up to pat her back. Tears are pricking at her eyes a little too, but she's staying strong.]

I got here at the end of November, so... about eight and a half months, now. Time is pretty weird here. Souji-kun, Rise-chan, and I think Teddie too have been here even longer than me.

[ The words kind of hit her like a fast moving truck. Eight months. That's such a long time, nearly a year. Chie would always get so upset when the two of them were separated for a matter of days. That was almost a year -- she couldn't even begin to think of how Chie must have felt during that long a time. ]

Eight and a half months? That's horrible .. I'm so sorry, Chie. I'm sorry for being late. I should have been here earlier-- .. [ She releases a sigh. ] .. I'm not going to leave you alone again, I promise.

[Oh, no, she's not allowed to start blaming herself. Chie squeezes Yukiko's waist again, then leans back to look her in the eyes, smiling warmly.]

Hey, now. It's not your fault, okay? People just show up and vanish all the time around here. The important thing is you're here now. [She grins.] And don't worry, I won't leave you alone either. We're in this together, as always. Right?

[ Her eyes fall to gaze upon the ground as she listens to what Chie is saying -- when the last part of what she says is spoken, "we're in this together", Yukiko's eyes slowly drift upwards to meet Chie's. ]

Y-Yeah, you're right. We're in this together. [ There's a bit of a sniffle here, but she tries to wipe away the tears in her eyes. No more crying now, she'll be okay as long as she's got Chie with her. ]

Now then .. [ Since they're reunited and a dynamic duo again. ] where shall we go from here?
