Beach BBQ

Who: Minnie Mouse [livejournal.com profile] her_mouse_jesty and anyone who wanted to come!
Where: Olivine
When: Saturday, from afternoon to night.
Summary: Minnie decided to throw a party to celebrate the opening of her 'home', now named the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Rating: N/A?
Log:

[The birds have finished dropping everyone arrive at Olivine, and as friends mingle, everything seems quiet at first. The beach has been decorated, which will be further detailed in tags. Just as you’ve decided what you want to do, the front door to the House opens, and out steps Minnie…

… wearing a black and red maid outfit. And six of her Pokemon are wearing the frilly hair pieces too, lined side by side with her, three Pokemon on each side of her – Mickey the Azumarril, Donald the Pidgeot, Pluto the Gengar, Daisy the Magmar, and Walt the Charizard. Before you can begin questioning any of this, she clears her throat, because it’s time for what Disney does best. A song and dance number.]

My dearest friends, it is with deepest pride
and greatest pleasure that we welcome you here today.
And now we invite you to relax, let us pull up a
chair as the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse proudly presents -
your new home!

Be our guest! Be our guest!
Put our service to the test
Tie your napkin 'round your neck, my dear
And we'll provide the rest
Soup du jour
Hot hors d'oeuvres
Why, we only live to serve
Try the grey stuff
It's delicious
Don't believe me? We’ll grant your wishes!
We can sing, we can dance
Johto won’t leave it up to chance,
And a dinner here is never second best
Go on, invite your friends too,
Take a glance and then you'll
Be our guest ! Be our guest ! Be our guest!

Beef ragout
Cheese souffle
Pie and pudding "en flambe"
We'll prepare and serve with flair
A culinary cabaret!
You're alone
And you're scared
But the banquet's all prepared
No one's gloomy or complaining
While Pokemon are entertaining
We tell jokes and do tricks
Everyone gets their kicks
And it's all in perfect taste
That you can bet
Come on and lift your glass
You've won your own free pass
To be out guest
If you're stressed
It's fine dining we suggest
Be our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest!

It's a guest! It's a guest!
Sakes alive, well I'll be blessed!
Where our friends can rest their ends
I've had the napkins freshly pressed
With dessert, they'll want tea
And my dear that's fine with me
While Leon works his crew in
I'll be bubbling, I'll be brewing
In the cold and in the hot
Heaven's sakes! Is that a spot?
Clean it up! We want the company impressed
We've got a lot to do!
Is it one lump or two?
For you, our guest!
Be our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest!

Life is so depressing
When my friends needs are pressing
I’m not whole without a soul to wait upon
Ah, those good old days when I was useful...
Suddenly those good old days were gone
Over a year I’ve been rusting
Needing so much more than dusting
Needing exercise, a chance to use my skills!
Most days we I just laid around the beach…
Flabby, fat and lazy
Then this idea came and oops-a-daisy!
Be our guest! Be our guest!
Our command is your request
We’ll take no money ‘cause you’re our honey
And we're obsessed
With your meal, with your ease
Yes, indeed, we aim to please
While the candlelight's still glowing
Let us help you, We'll keep going
Course by course, one by one
'Til you shout, "Enough! I'm done!"
Then we'll sing you off to sleep as you digest
Tonight you'll prop your feet up
But for now, let's eat up
Be our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest!
Please, be our guest!

[All seven pose as the song ends. That’s probably the signal for the party to start and… where did those fireworks come from?!

Please wait until I put up all the activity posts, then you can tag! All done, have at it!]

[Just watching the ocean. He'll acknowledge Riku with a nod though.]

Not really. Too many people around.

What about You?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-08-30 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[He shrugs.]

Can't complain. Parties aren't really a deal breaker for me, but at least it's something to do.

[identity profile] seasalttwilight.livejournal.com 2011-08-31 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I guess so. [Also shrugs]

...so you managed to get all the badges?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-08-31 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
That's right. Got my last badge a few months ago.

[identity profile] seasalttwilight.livejournal.com 2011-09-01 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Congratulations. I still have three to get.

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-09-01 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Still not too bad. Gym Leaders are easy to beat, anyway.

[Says Riku, who doesn't respect them one bit.]

[identity profile] seasalttwilight.livejournal.com 2011-09-01 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Sometimes. That guy on Cianwood was pretty tough. It was a really good battle.

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know about that. My flying types take down fighters nice and quick. All I had to do was hit first, and it was an easy win.

[Of course, he's tooting his own horn again. Humbleness is not one of his strong points.]

[identity profile] seasalttwilight.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I mostly used Fearow for that battle, so it was easy, but still fun. The trainers on the road usually don't put up the same kind of fight.

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I guess. The trainers out on the routes are pretty weak, but Gym Leaders all stick to a single type. Where's the challenge?

[identity profile] seasalttwilight.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
That's a good point. Having all of one type really isn't useful. You really need variety out on the routes.

Maybe it's because they live in the city.

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
That's hardly an excuse. Do you even see any steel types around here? Other than Magnemites, I mean.

[He shakes his head.]

I think the Gym Leaders are just paid to lose. I mean, isn't that the whole point of the challenge?

[identity profile] seasalttwilight.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, yeah. [He can't really disagree with that]

They also have to provide a challenge though.

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
You can provide a challenge without going monotype. A varied party means you can cover more ground. Varying your Pokémon's move pool just adds to that challenge.

[Ah, Riku's getting his trainer nerdism on. Beware.]

Like Flare. He's a fire type, but I made sure to teach him Thunder Punch as soon as I found the right move tutor.

[identity profile] seasalttwilight.livejournal.com 2011-09-05 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[Roxas really needs to figure that out.]

There are move tutors?

[identity profile] islandshore.livejournal.com 2011-09-05 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. They travel around, but you can usually find them between towns if you look hard enough.

[identity profile] seasalttwilight.livejournal.com 2011-09-06 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
I'll have to look into that then.
