Summary: While much of the Johto population is off at the paintball match, Larry and Ur meet up for the first time. Larry gets a Dratini and Ur gets a portrait!

[Art supplies in hand, Larry finds himself at the edges of the beach, admiring the Olivine sights while he waits for Ur to arrive. The last time he saw the beach, the Storm of the Century was ravaging everything in its wake. He much prefers the calm breeze and clear blue skies.

It really is the perfect day for meeting up. At least, to Larry anyway. With Barney off enjoying himself at the paintball tournament, Larry doesn't feel so bad about going off and doing his own thing too. And he's totally excited to see Ur in person. She has that Dratini for him, and he'll get to hit the ol' sketchbook again. Maybe she'll have some training pointers for him too!

But this is Larry, so he's more excited about Ur herself than anything else. Some things never change.]

[ Since she was waiting for Smoker and Luffy to arrive, it didn't sound like a bad idea to meet up with him. Besides, she had the pokemon she promised him to caught during her time in Blackthorn City. Meeting at the beach sounded nice. Or maybe it was just that Olivine was a calm place.

Anyway, she was happy to finally meet up with him in person, so she made her way to the meeting point. With a small wave of her hand, and wearing her lovely short pants and top, she called out for him. ]

[Larry instantly straightened up upon hearing his name, and with a grin, turned around.]

Ur! You made it!

[He trotted over to her, still all smiles. Yep, she looked even better in person. But he keeps his eyes on her face.]

Nice to finally meet you.

[ Comes with the name and that or something, but anyway, she chuckles back at him. ]

Sorry for bein' late. I was doin' some last minute things. [ A small smile. ] I can say the same. First time for everythin'.

Yep! And no problem. I had plenty to do while I waited. [He flips out his sketchbook, which has some new doodles of the beach scene in front of them.] Figured I should warm up.

Those are really impressive, Larry. [ Looking at them over his shoulder. Then, she goes to her small pockets to bring out a pokeball. ]

Here is your Dratini.

Thanks! [Don't stroke his ego, Ur! It's bad enough!

His eyes light up when he sees that Pokeball though.]

I said it before and I'll say it again, you're the best.

[He eagerly awaits for her to hand it over. He doesn't want to just snatch it out of her hand.]

[ She's not doing it on propose, really!

And she looks again at the flattery. Never gets used to it. ]

You're far too nice, Larry.

[ She extends her hand with the pokeball to him with a smile. ]

C'mon, like I said, it's just the truth. I don't sugar-coat. [LIAR. ... But he's not lying here.

He takes the Pokeball and presses the center button to make it larger.]

So what's it like? The Dratini.

[ Good thing she doesn't know about that. She's now subtly moving to the Dratini topic. ]

It's pretty sweet and energetic.

Sweet! I hope it'll be cool with a lot of training.

[Excited to meet his new Pokemon, he opens the Pokeball, releasing the Pokemon inside.

The Dratini appears before the two, and lets out a happy cry. Larry kneels down to pet it.]

Heh, it's not attacking me or anything. That's definitely a good start!

[ She chuckles. ]

Do you get attacked by all your pokemons?

[He allows the Dratini to slither up his arm and settles it around his shoulders.]

Kinda. My Steelix, well she was an Onix then, nearly trampled me when I accidentally tripped on her in Union Cave. Iiit was a special first meeting.

Better be more careful in the future, Larry. [ She nods a bit and crosses her arms under her chest. ] Does she still obey you?

Hey, it was an accident! I could hardly see anything in that cave.

[Patting his Dratini's head,] But yeah, she obeys me. She was a little stubborn at first, but I think I've impressed her enough. [He laughs.] She's been a big help. I don't know where I'd be without her.

[ She chuckles a bit. ]

Good to hear 'at then. 'M pretty used to have Rose and Wild Rose around that it wouldn't be the same without 'em.

Those are your Lapras...es, right? They're so cool! And yeah, I don't think I'd give any of my Pokemon up for the same reason. We've been through too much to up and say goodbye.

That's right. [ She's calling them now, there's a gentle smile on her face when she pets both of their heads. ] They are part of my family.

[Larry stares up at the two Lapras, amazed at how big they are.] Wouldn't wanna make them mad, heheh.

[ One of the Lapras stares at him and moves her head closer to his hand. PET ME. ]

They are really calm, so there's no need for 'em to get mad.
