❝in the corner of a grey-stained city I was seeing dreams❞

Who: [livejournal.com profile] reimprovise and [livejournal.com profile] nodoubleteam
Where: Frisky Pikachu Lingerie Store in Goldenrod. except that's not really the name--
When: September 16th.
Summary: So, two trolls walk into a lingerie store... Just another day in the life of Jade and Fuji, really.
Rating: PG-13...?
Log:
[for all intents and purposes, Jade was not usually one to succumb to random whims. he was, however, one to succumb to feats that he supposed would provide just the smallest bit of entertainment. it's this certain whim that brought him into the realms of this certain little establishment in goldenrod. he's browsing the racks with an almost unreadable expression on his face--the smallest smile on his features.

most of his amusement comes from the reactions of several people in the store, however, hardly from the products themselves. though the notion of giving these as a joke gift to certain emperors and people doesn't escape his notice. but that fun was there, in the future, and the slightly judging stares of consumers was the now.

he picks up a yellow bikini at the rack in front of the door. well, wasn't that a familiar look.]

[just so happens that another soliciting young man also finds that particular bikini to be distinctly familiar, and another pair of hands find themselves snaking for the same bikini moments before it is appropriated by the first set of hands.

Fuji Shuusuke brushes his bangs out of his eyes absently, and tilts his head in consideration, before smiling.]

I suppose this would be what I'd call 'impeccable taste'.

[is the other's presence in the lingerie shock anything of a surprise? not really. he thinks he's had far more intricate surprises-- though this one, in itself, ranks fairly high up there in terms of amusement. on the other hand, he doesn't think he expected the other man to be so tall. it takes him a moment to adjust to the height difference that the pokegear once made irrelevant, considering the right angle to maintain eye-contact without making it tedious.

it's not something that he's particularly bothered by, but it's yet another thing to watch out for.]

I'd say it's the weight of the water that slows me down, Two Empty Cups. I never thought shopping for women's swimwear would be so competitive.

[he reserves judgment on the remark-- though not pinpointing the underlying statement would be something like ignoring everything that's been said in their past conversation. things from the past are the foundations for the future; past conversations build on the air of present conversations. his meaning, he thinks, can only be clear.

he hums.]

If I did that, I'd have a hard time fulfilling my moniker. And I have to say, I'm rather fond of it-- aren't you?

You say that like you've never appreciated a nickname. [it's said with a shrug as he tilts his head, watching as light dances across the surface of the glass. it reminds him of a zamboni, though he supposes that's not quite the line of thought that should be employed here.

the movement of the swimwear, dangling from the racks, catches his attention, and he turns almost lazily to watch the spaghetti straps swing.]
Though that does beg the question-- where did all that water go?

[the scraping sound elicits something like a frown out of him, disguised as contemplation. though anyone who knows Fuji well enough knows that he doesn't frown when he thinks. he smiles.]

Water under the bridge; seems poetic enough.

Though all that spilled water-- wouldn't it be nice, if it rained more?

[oh Jade. the sound lingers in the air, the ghost of an echo, even without the physical movements that accompany it. irrationally, it makes him want to take a hold of the metal frame.]

Though they can sport beautiful patterns. An umbrella with a butterfly on it, for example-- spreading its wings during rainfall.

[the sound is distracting.] Paid much mind-- or ignore it entirely? There is a difference.

[such as the difference between not minding the sound and ignoring the sound. is the man truly indifferent, does is he ignoring it at best?]

[and he hums, here. identification purposes, huh.

the grating sound continues. he smiles.]

No more than that?

Mm, what's the relationship between two full cups and two empty cups, I wonder.

Have you wondered long?

[a chuckle, again.]

What is the difference? Even if they're both difference sides of the same coin, doesn't the coin ultimately get used to for that one purpose?
