but someone's gotta do it
Who: Xion (
ordalias) & Vanitas (
subvertio)
Where: Goldenrod City
When: Oct. 25th
Summary: So just before Vanitas heads along to Ecruteak, he and Xion have an encounter and some words. And then some.
Rating: PG-13 for violence
Log:
[ It's a good thing Goldenrod City is expansive. There were a lot of random places that Xion could use to train herself, despite the fact that she should still be resting and recovering. Of course, logic and staying still don't usually run through most of Sora's heartspawn, but they get by.
She's swinging her wooden Keyblade, not minding if someone walks in on her or takes a few seconds to stop and stare at what she's doing. Still, her moves are half-hearted, not much energy or thought put into what she is doing as her mind wandered off to other things. Like how Roxas seemed a little beat up earlier.
But from what? Roxas didn't seem to want to tell anyone what had happened, so she'd left it alone, despite another part of her wanting to know. What had happened? Who would do that? So many questions, and Xion stops and sighs, looking around.
She doesn't know what to do now. ]

She doesn't know what to do now. ]

And despite her own instincts telling her to just let him go, she... sort of approaches. ]
... Vanitas?
no subject
Yeah? [The Murkrow on his shoulder caws, before hopping off his trainers shoulder and swooping around curiously.]
no subject
Being polite wouldn't hurt, right? ] Are you okay? [ She gestures to his eye. ]

[ "He"? ... hm. The implications are unsettling. ]

gdmit roxas.]Not his business how I treat my Pokemon. [Cracking his neck almost idly, he turns a bit so he's facing her more properly.]
I almost forgot; you might know him. [Narrowing his eyes slightly, Vanitas crosses his arms.] Greatly resembles Ventus, but isn't quite the same in personality.

But now this? She can only believe Roxas was doing the right thing in interfering. He wouldn't do so otherwise. Which meant, on Vanitas' part... Her face drops to a sort of cool, blank look. ]
Roxas. [ It wasn't a question, but as her mind further thinks about it, there's a bit of a visible frown. ]
You... did that to him?

So I'm instantly in the wrong when I didn't throw the first punch. [Not that he didn't fight back as if he did.]

What were you doing? What did the pokemon do?

You shouldn't do that. Maybe that's why he's resisting.
no subject
And yeah, not like Vanitas tried stopping him.]
no subject
Ah, damn. Before she even knows it, she's caught up to him, hand on his shoulder. ]
You... You did that. You did all of that. [ Frowning now. ] Why?
no subject
But I did laugh about it.
no subject
There's nothing to laugh about that! He could've gotten hurt or worse! [ 'cept he did get hurt, which she knows, but the alternative just... urgh. ]
no subject
The answer is that I wouldn't. Deserved it for siccing the Pokemon on me in the first place.

You need to stop. [ Stop... Stop what? Doing whatever's causing Roxas and Sora to get into such tangles with Vanitas? Yeah, probably that. And she doesn't see it, but she can sort of tell he's smiling. And not in a good way, which grates her nerves even further. ]
no subject
Stop what? I didn't start anything. [At least he's stopped walking, but he's already sensing that she won't get the hint and leave him be.]
no subject
[ Is her attempt, but really? She just wants Vanitas to stop hurting her friends back. Tunnel vision, ahoy! ]

What part of get lost didn't you get?
no subject
I'm not leaving. [ If he's not gonna change, he might get into more fights with her friends. Harrumph. ]
no subject
You mean like you're getting yourself into, amirite Xion? He's rolling his eyes and moving again, picking up the pace to walk pretty quickly. He's thiiiiiiiis close to punching though.]
no subject
Well, you're not her friend, so that's a clear exception. Herp.So what's Xion gonna despite the incessant alarm bells ringing in her ears? Why, try to get in front of Vanitas' way, glaring defiantly. ]
no subject
At least he hit her in the shoulder instead of in the face?]
no subject
no subject
Sorry Xion, that shove is earning an outright punch. Yeah, fists just went flying.]

[Sorry Xion, but arm stomping coming next means he can loom and show quite the snarled expression.] Besides, what do either of you care? There's no heart, I can tell. You're lower than one of my unversed even, and they're at least made of emotion.
no subject
He wouldn't know. He'd never know, nor understand. As she grinds her teeth to keep herself from crying out in pain as she feels something in the bones of her forearm crack from the pressure, Xion lets out an anguished scream when, as soon as Vanitas' foot lands on her forearm again, she moves her elbow up and drives it sharply down on the toes of that foot. ]
no subject
[The pained sounds only had him keep stomping until she crunched her elbow onto his toes, and Vanitas instantly regrets not wearing his boots today. Hissing from the pain and quickly stumbling back with a limp to avoid causing more of that pain to himself, she's lucky he doesn't have something in his hands to strike her with; Vanitas is seeing red, but the damage was done, in his opinion.
Curling his lip with something of a snarl, he simply lifts his hand up where his Murkrow swoops down to catch and lift him up.]
Think about it next time before you try to take me on.
[With that, he's gone by use of FLY.]
