Robin really should have prepared for that, for everything. Maybe he could blame it on the whole 'level the playing field' thing that comes along with Johto, but he shouldn't. No, he should man up and take responsibility for the fact he had the advantage and he lost it in a single move that left him not only pinned, but quickly running out of options.
And now he's pinned under Wally, his slightly larger size making it very difficult to manouver out from under him, and Wally is throwing punches without rest. Robin has his arms up in a defensive position to protect his face, because he cannot afford to work with shock and possibly even a concussion, but as a result that takes his arms out of any possible move out of that position.
That's when he clues in to what Wally's saying, and just how much anger and frustration is coming through, and for a brief moment he feels anger build up in him and then just stop.
Not only does the rising anger freeze, but Robin is pretty sure his heart does too, as well as his brain, for the briefest of moments. Just long enough for Wally to get a hit in, and then another, and Robin barely even notices. He freezes because he knows where Wally was planning on going with that comment, and just the reminder that...just the possibility of that being brought up...
But then Robin is locking down, his training kicking in, and just as he feels bruises and possibly a split lip begin to form he's pitching up his legs and wrapping them around Wally's shoulders, pulling him down with enough force to pull him off and Robin is rolling to the side and finding his footing. The punches Wally landed were starting to bring a ringing inside Robin's head, but he ignores it, turning back to the former Kid Flash with a dark look. A look that he reserved for the very few, one that even Batman hadn't seen.
Wally is still in the midst of getting up off the ground when Robin moves, jumping up and using the branch of a tree to propel a kick to Wally's ribs, knocking him back against a tree. When he lands and starts punching, it's nothing like Wally's rage. Instead of centering in on a particular place, like the face, Robin's fists make contact with various pressure points, joints, bones, etc. All the places he was taught to hit, all the places that will hurt, but won't necessarily kill. He doesn't even know he's talking until he hears a rough echo of his own voice muttering "Glad to know how you really feel." as he drops down to avoid a before bouncing back up to hit right under Wally's jaw.
