Corsola-hunting

Who: [livejournal.com profile] useddrugs and anyone!
Where: Cherrygrove City
When: Tuesday; at hours that should never exist (5 AM)
Summary: On a sleepless night, Anemone's trying to bait a Corsola.
Rating: G? PG?
Log:

Fresh air could help a headache, couldn't it? After spending a good four hours trying to sleep off a pounding nightmare in her temples, Anemone managed to wait it out to a subdued throbbing she could easily ignore. However, she couldn't sleep, not yet... but what else could one do in the middle of the night? Dominic was most likely asleep, and she didn't want to wake him for entertainment--after all, she could entertain herself!

That was what landed her on the Cherrygrove shore, kneeling in the sand not too far from the water's edge. It was pretty cool, and she half wished she had grabbed Dominic's jacket before heading out. Her nightgown wasn't made of the thickest material, and the little pockets on the side could barely contain the two pokéballs jostling inside. With a soft pout, she pushed them back in and stretched out bare legs before her. The middle of the night was so boring. Why was she even awake?

At one point, she had played tug-of-war with a little crab pokémon and a stick. She watched magikarp splash about in the water (or float--part of the mystery was wondering what they were doing). Simple, rather pointless things to keep the time ticking without frustration. But once the little crab things crawled off and when she grew bored of the fish, she found herself wondering what to do next since those coralian-pokémon weren't showing up.

Well... waiting often took a long time. Hopefully people would wake up soon; she could at least bother a person or two.

Dominic is indeed asleep, for once, and while normally a light sleeper working ten day weeks on two jobs leaves a guy a little exhausted. It's not until four that he wakes up- and only because his alarm has been set for just that purpose. His shift starts at six, so he takes a shower, gets dressed, wakes up and feeds his pokémon, and goes- as always- to check on Anemone before thinking about breakfast.

Anemone is not in her room.

That took a moment to sink in. Anemone was gone. And it appeared that most of her things remained- had she been abducted? Harmed in some way? Was she hiding in the bathroom, or in some other corner of the inn? Dominic tried to search in a methodical way, but didn't do a great job of it: she was missing. Anemone was gone. His heart racing during his third sweep of her room, he suddenly remembered-

No, surely she wouldn't have just left for the beach without telling him first? Even if they had spoken about it just yesterday? But even as he wonders, he's already running out the door, wearing his jacket but not his shoes. The only reason he isn't yelling is sensitivity for the early time of day, but when he sees a figure on the beach a distance away, he does cry out: "Anemone!"

Well, rather than proud, he's out of breath, relieved, kind of worried anyway, kind of annoyed, and relieved again. And he's also just now realizing he is barefoot. After a moment, he marches towards her. "What do you think you're doing, taking off without saying a word?"

"…" Could it be that she was actually being considerate? After a second of looking surprised, his expression softens, and he runs his hand through his hair awkwardly. "I was worried when you weren't there, Anemone."

W- what no he isn't blushing just because she's holding his hand, of course not. "I- if you insist!" which is a dumb thing to say because he'd do almost anything he is holding her hand ahhhhh.

His first thought: are those really crabs? He's still not used to how pokémon look almost like what he considers 'real' animals. He looks at them, wishing he had his guide to show off how to look them up. "They're probably 'water type' pokémon, don't you think?"

"It is a genuine ocean," he informs her, looking out over it. Now he wonders just what classifies a genuine ocean, but whatever. "I've been advised that pokémon enjoy playing in it. And humans as well, were in not so cold."

"The sun isn't even up yet!" This seems both dangerous and ridiculously unappealing to Dominic.
