Operation: Express Car; [train plot log]
Who: Everyone who wants to participate!
Where: Goldenrod City, the Magnet Train, Saffron City.
When: November 23rd, 11AM-5PM
Summary: Heist on the Magnet Train!
Rating: Might go up to PG-13, possibly R if exceptional violence of swearing occurs.
Log:
They've spent the last few days preparing. He wasn't sure at first, how this was going to turn out, but the Team is confident. They are confident and now he, Archer, is also confident. He has no reason to expect failure; he tells himself, even if they fail, this will cement them back in the public eye. A threat again. It makes his collar hot to think.
He reviews the plans again, Petrel's notes and schematics, engineering details. Phase 2 will be the most delicate, but he's confident in the abilities of the recruits. The aliens, the outsiders, are strange, but useful. They have skills no other Grunt would possess. Archer recognizes he has been given a tool, and only a fool would fail to use it.
At 9:30AM on November 23rd, Archer sends a message through the Rocket Network. It is short, and simple, and jubilant.
Operation: Express Car
-----------------------------------------------
It's a nice day out, considering. Cold, yes, but the kind of cold that buries itself deep in the lungs and blows the mind into crisp clarity. Cheeks are red, movements brisk to retain heat, and around Goldenrod's white-dusted Magnet Train station, the energy is thick enough to taste. People in their thick winter coats press together, some alone, some with families and friends, most with their trusted pokémon. The larger creatures are returned to their balls, tragically fated to miss the voyage, while smaller breeds are held in their trainers' arms or scurrying around their ankles.
The station attendants are supervising while customers pass through, touching the microchipped Rail Pass to the card readers and moving in slow, sluggish trails through the gates. There is no shoving; the atmosphere seems too cheery for it, excitement manifesting in the form of loud, vigorous conversation. The train itself is gloriously slick, smooth and polished as a new bullet or a freshly-minted coin, humming with power. We ask our passengers to please mind their electric-types, reminds the stationmaster over the PA, as we seek to avoid any trouble or inconvenience during the ride.
Once you've passed the gate, find a seat and stow away your luggage. Relax, unwind; it's a long six hours ahead.

You've got it so bad.
[ not that Karkat doesn't. nope. ]
no subject
Got what so bad?
[He sounds more amused than inquisitive.]
no subject
[ yeah, okay. just going to shift his shoulder around a little. those glasses hurt. ]
no subject
[What? You don't like those thick frames stabbing you like a hipster dagger to the face? How about another snuggle for good measure!]
no subject
no subject
[Oh so they are. Alright, he's just gonna take them off then and maybe hang them by the collar of Karkat's shirt, his scarf is in the way of his own collar, so be the keeper of his glasses, Karkat!]
Better?
no subject
Yeah.
[ pauses to let the minutes pass in silence. ]
Hey, we need to talk about something.
no subject
[A glance up at him.]
Whassat?

I don't honestly see why I should care--they may share the same fate as me, but that hardly means I hawe to tolerate them. I don't think our fate will change all too much if we stop snarlin' at each other funny, Kar.
An' who the fuck said anythin' about black endeawors? Also, not like it actually matters if you said somethin' to them or not, they already hawe their opinion a me, talk is cheap an' it's not gonna change a damn thing.
no subject
You're the one that thought Rose had a fucking thing for you, idiot. Of course, that also goes for me in some respects. I mean I already got over it, but the fact remains that yeah, I was interested in someone.
[ gives Eridan's hand another squeeze. ]
It matters to me, dumbass. You have no fucking idea how much I reflect upon what I did as compared to what I should have done. Maybe if I had fucking concentrated on working with the shitty humans at first instead of just troll them, the plans would have been further along and that would have given me the time needed to, well, keep track of everyone.
But if they're going to make the effort, that at least isn't sitting on their goddamn nubs. It means they're trying to make it change.
no subject
[Oops he might be lacing his fingers with Karkat's.]
... Fine. I'll relent, but if they start up with me, don't expect me to back the fuck down, I won't stand for blatant disrespect.
no subject
[ but there's a sigh anyway. okay. as long as people are trying on both sides, then that's all he can do. ]
I can accept that.
no subject
[Doesn't stop those black leanings he has oops.]
... So I gotta say, I was surprised.
no subject
no subject
[Anyone else would just join in probably... Eridan's still kinda getting used to this, because even if Karkat wasn't exactly a dick to him before all this flushed stuff, he still had about 10 others that would definitely jump at the chance to put him down or mock him.]
I really fuckin' appreciate it, Kar.
no subject
What do you expect? Even if you weren't my matesprit, you are still a member of my team.
no subject
[... So maybe Karkat's right, that he's got it bad. Whatever, he hardly gives a fuck. He's fucking happy and that's all there is to it!]
no subject
no subject
[He's just going to grin and lay on Karkat more. Yeah, making Karkat into his pillow for this WAY TOO LONG of a train ride is definitely a thing he plans on doing.]
