Summary: Shiraishi is running away leaving to travel alone. Things don't go the way he plans.

[November mornings were cold and unwelcoming. Especially when you outside, preparing to leave the town. Only few would go outside at this hour, at this temperature. One of the was Shiraishi.

He was standing outside, making sure his Tropius was warm enough. Winter wasn't such a good time for grass Pokémon so he wanted to make sure he wouldn't suffer from cold. The same thing would have been with his other flying Pokémon, Onbin, the Dragonite.]

Are you alright? [Tropius nodded slightly as he nuzzled into a scarf that Shiraishi had wrapped around his neck.] If the scarf starts bothering you during the flight, just land and we'll think of something else, okay? [Another nod from Tropius and a smile from Shiraishi. Alright, he was ready to go.]

[ so maybe it was a little cold. but, fortunately, tezuka's good with cold. very good. so when he walks over to shiraishi from... well, seemingly out of nowhere (though he was waiting for him, actually), he looks pretty good. completely comfortable, in fact.

His Absol trails beside him, with the same composure--his arms are crossed as he comes to stop in front of the runaway captain, and his pokemon does the same. what a touching display, shiraishi. just wait one second for this tennis captain. ]

[Shiraishi was about to do the final adjustments before setting out when he noticed Tezuka. Well, actually, he got slightly startled at the sudden voice of Tezuka as he didn't really notice him before he spoke.]

Tezuka-kun... what are you doing here?

[ "I'm worried you might get lost." ... Well, maybe a little, but that's not the main reason and he has to admit it. ]

I was passing by. [ which was half-true half-not, because he felt that shiraishi was going to end up leaving soon anyway. he can't resist the fact he was kind of itching to leave goldenrod and go on an ~adventure~, so this lines up pretty well. not that he'll say that. ]

[Well if it's Tezuka it's possible that he might have been on a morning walk. Then again it was pretty early.]

I see. [... and what should he say about all of this? Hmm.] I was just thinking about going for a ride...

[ he normally isn't one to pry, but it's really just curiosity that gets him to ask. or maybe it's concern. or maybe it's the fact he wants to come along.

[He can try. He's used to lying to Kin-chan, why wouldn't he be able to lie to Tezuka?

... Maybe because it's Tezuka. He sighs.]

Actually, I'm going to continue my gym challenge alone... so rather than a ride I'll be flying to Ecruteak for now.

. . . I see. [ and the absol sits in front of her trainer. tezuka takes this opportunity to place his bag down on the ground, taking out something and placing it behind it. shiraishi may or may not have caught sight of the egg due to the absol blocking the way.

either way, tezuka's keeping the same face as ever. ask him about it shiraishi. ask him. ]

[Curiosity killed the cat... or is it Meowth in Johto? While he didn't see the egg because of the Absol, but he did notice Tezuka took something out of the bag.]

Hmm? What are you doing, Tezuka-kun?

[ ... and almost like he expected shiraishi to ask (he did), he takes out the pokémon egg flawlessly from behind the bag. both hands cradling it. showcasing it. right in front of shiraishi.

he doesn't say anything, but his face is pretty much saying:

take me with you. and you get this egg.

a bribe? maybe. tezuka considers a convergence of interests. ]

[Shiraishi will just stare at him for a while.

It's like he understands what Tezuka means... and while he would really like to go alone, he wouldn't want to say no to getting a new egg...

After a while he'll accept the egg.]

[ great, win-win. now shiraishi won't have to die through getting lost, and tezuka can finally... go to the mountains...

I mean, explore. he hands it over to shiraishi with neutral expression, because that's about as much as he can muster. he is tezuka, after all. ]

When do we leave? [ except he knows it's probably "right now". nice doing business with you, shiraishi. :) ]

[How did this end up happening? Shiraishi's not sure ever.

First things first, better keep the egg warm. Especially in this weather.]

Well I was about to leave... but if you have preparations to make I suppose we can leave later. [But hopefully before Kenya and others wake up.]

[ now this might reveal him a bit but you know what? tezuka doesn't mind. ]

I'm already ready. [ yes, indeed. he's picking up that bag of his now, which pretty much has everything he could ever need. tezuka is always ready, but that's beyond the point.
