Shopping

Who: [livejournal.com profile] fullmetalbro and [livejournal.com profile] displcedsoul
Where: Goldenrod Department Store, and maybe elsewhere.
When: This Afternoon
Summary: Al drags Ed to go Christmas shopping. Shenanigans are likely to ensue.
Rating: PG-13 because Ed needs a mouthful of soap.
Log:

It was still cold, but at least the sun was out. Unfortunately, Ed was still stuck inside. In fact, he couldn't really think of a worse place to be stuck inside, as he was was in the Goldenrod Department Store. Al had dragged him there to get a Christmas present for Winry. Stupid holiday. He was all for festivals and stuff like that, but the main part of this holiday seemed to be spending money and getting presents. Again, Ed didn't mind that. It's just he really couldn't think of a good present for Winry.

Ed and Al walked around the store. Ed at least had to stop when they got to the toys. Aurum insisted on getting one, and Ed had to pry him off of a huge stuffed teddy bear. Now they were around the jewelry section, when Ed suddenly got an idea.

"You think I can get Winry a good tool set instead? I think she's like that better than a crummy necklace."

Meanwhile, Aurum will be looking at the shiny things. He's tilting his head to see how the gems sparkle in the light.

Honestly, Edward could be hopeless sometimes. There were plenty of ocassions for Alphonse to feel like the older of the two and height had NOTHING to do with it.

Today's misadventure? Trying to get Ed to find something for Winry for Christmas that wasn't a pair of earrings or another new wrench, and it had entailed literally dragging Ed part of the way there way to exert control of the situation and remind him whose stronger, Al.

"You're thinking too practical again, brother..." You could practically hear the unreleased sigh in his tone as they explored the department store one level at a time.

True, Winry was definitely hardcore about her work with automail, but--

"It's your first Christmas as a couple! You should do something sweet and unexpected."

Tools were predictable-- a good idea(!), but predictable.

"At least get her something or do something romantic to go along with it. How about taking her out to dinner on Christmas Eve?"
