[Kanji awkwardly ran a hand through his hair as he tentatively brought his hand up. Heee knew this was gonna be hard. Especially with the way Chie-senpai had reacted when Yukiko-senpai left the last time. But.... they're like.... peanut butter and jelly. And he would do as much as he possibly could in order to get Chie-senpai to head off to Violet town. Or Cherrygrove. Or wherever.

And so with that he knocked quietly.]

Y-yooo Chie-senpai? You in there?

[Chie is pretty quick to answer the door, opening it up and peering out at Kanji. Behind her pop up the two heads of her Doduo, Agi and Bufu.]

Oh, hey, Kanji-kun. What's up?

Ah, not too bad. Been thinking about traveling plans. We should probably hit the ferry soon now that you've beaten Jasmine, huh?

You're not gonna-- [he stops.] I thought you were gonna go after Yukiko-senpai.

[Oh, right. That. Chie's mouth tightens and she glances to one side.]

I, uh, wasn't... planning on it. At least not yet.

[craftingrebel]

[he blinks.] You-- why?

[herolegs]

It's just... Ugh. [She's having a hard time putting it into words, even just to herself.] I'm so close to finally getting that badge and that HM, after I've spent months sitting around not doing anything. And...

[She stares at the floor, eyes lowered and volume dropping.] I'm half expecting her to be gone again by the time I get there.

[kanji falters a bit and looks down at the floor. well-- he understood where she was coming from with that, but... still.... frowning he looks back up and tries his best to offer a small smile.]

You gotta have faith senpai. Even if she does... leave again, we'll-- we'll all be here? Okay? You don't have to go through this alone. But right now she needs her best friend. [a pause.] And if it happens again, I'll make it up to ya too.
