Log: [He couldn't help but think it was an extremely strange day, particularly the fact that everyone was so jolly and festive! What was the update on the situation? Maybe there would be warmer weather on the way?

It just went to show how much Ieyasu knew about Christmas Eve.

Nonetheless, he shrugged and went to where he knew the Breeding Center to be, settling for waiting outside for a moment.

A quick text to Rise:

sorry for the lateness of my visit, rise! but if you have a moment, would you be willing to spend some time with me?

[ it's a little unusual, but Rise was stirring from a nap when the screen lit up with a small ping; she'd blame Yagyuu if asked, Yagyuu and timing and the idiocy of running outside in pajama pants, but she hadn't expected any more surprised today.

The thing about surprises, though, is that no one really expects them.

Ieyasu won't get a text in response, because within ten minutes, the door swings open and there she is, sleepily rubbing an eye and carrying something tucked beneath her other arm. ]

... I didn't think I'd be as popular here.

[In those ten minutes, he'd just be leaning against the building. If Rise was busy then it couldn't be helped and he'd probably just move on and visit the next day-

But as the door swung up, he saw that wouldn't be necessary.

And tilting his head to her with a smile.]

[It takes just a moment for him to realize that she's still rubbing at her eyes-]

A-Ah... I'm sorry, did I disturb you? I hadn't meant to. We can always go another time...!

[ she'll grump later, but she offers up a smile now-- seconds before the walk turns into a bounce and she's launching herself at him for a hug. ]

Hm... not that I can recall planning! My traveling partner isn't the celebrating sort... and other acquaintances from home are in another town.

[He finally remembers to set her down now, though he remains bent at the waist to be at her eye level for a bit longer.]
