[It's been a bit of a mad shuffle to get everything together, but they've done it. Taking a survey of the room Nurse Joy's let them use, one can't help a sense of pride in all they've collectively arranged. The decorations are bright and festive, colorful balloons and paper chains lining walls, ledges and corners, even the table where snacks are waiting.

And there are quite a variety of those, the fruits of less than discreet observation of what a certain someone happens to like. There's more than enough to go around for everybody, and beyond all that, there's the cake. With the combined efforts of Sora and John, it looks nothing short of impressive where it waits, handles ready to be lit.

Then of course there's gifts, stacked on their own table and just waiting to be unwrapped. They're as varied as the people who brought them, people now crouching in wait as the lights are flicked off.

Any minute now, Riku should arrive...]

[Doesn't make it okay >8( He's going to finish the end of his drink and have brief chipmunk cheeks for a moment again before swallowing the mess in his mouth, glancing where he can refill the cup.] Then good, don't share what you saw.

I doubt anybody'd believe me anyway.

Good. [I have a reputation to uphold after all. Since his plate is as empty as the cup, he's going to move to start reloading it with rolls of ham, more beef bits, and actually reach for more trail mix as well.]

[He'll just slip some fruit in that mess of meat and salty things then...]

[And he'll pick up the peach that was slipped in and give it the most unsure look.] What is this.

That's a peach, it's fruit.

[You...have heard of fruit before, haven't you Vanitas?]

[Yes, but he's never seen a peach before. Lifting it and sniffing, he's got a surprised blink when he looks closer.] It's fuzzy.

Well, yeah. peaches are like that...

[He might regret looking ridiculous in a few minutes, but Vanitas is going to rub that peach against his nose a little, then mouth and one cheek. Brb, fascinated by soft fruit what the heck.]

[...Vanitas are you five or-

Oh wait]

[YES I AM, STFU.

Sniffing at the fuzz again, Vanitas finally opens his mouth and takes a big chomp. And fumbles a bit with the plate in his other hand because holy crap it just exploded juice down his chin. But judging from that surprised expression and the way he's trying to slurp up the juice, it tastes darn good.]

[Ven will just go find him a napkin, that looks pretty messy]

[Yeah, he'll need one. Vanitas already dropped his plate on the pile of meats to try and wipe some of that peach juice off his chin. Messy messy, it's only now that he's standing with his chin out to try and not drip sweet juice on his shirt that he's realizing just how ridiculous he looks.

Brb, looking a bit sullen and awkward while trying to retain his 'give no cares' expression. It's a bit ruined with the half eaten peach in one hand and a sloppy mess hanging off his jaw.]

[At least it doesn't take Ven long to return with some napkins, which he'll just stuff in Vanitas' free hand so he can move that plate off of food that other people might want to eat. Manners, Vanitas, why didn't anybody teach you these things?]

[Blame Xehanort okay.

Accepting the napkins without a word, he'll work on wiping his face before working it over the front of his shirt where a slop caught him.]

[Well, it's okay, he's glad Vanitas appears to like something that's actually pretty healthy for him at least. And no one was watching, as far as he could tell]

[Swallowing the bite he still had in his mouth, he straightens once almost everything is cleaned up and clears his throat.]

So you said this is a peach? [Picking the big honking seed out of the middle now, careful not to make more of a mess though. ~~NO ONE SAW ANYTHING. NOTHINGGG.~~]

[He nods]

Uh-huh, that's right.

It's not bad. [Holding up the seed now to really look at it... nope. Tossing it over shoulder, he's taking a much more careful bite of that fruit now, slower so he doesn't make as much of a mess this time.]

I was just thinking maybe you liked it a little.
