Valentine's Masquerade
Who: Minnie, Saber, and anyone who wants to join the party!
Where: Goldenrod.
When: Forward dated to 20th,with apologies for earliness, Afternoon to Night.
Summary: The girls are holding a Masquerade to finish off the feel of good vibes and loving sentiment. A chance to build CR, since they've offered to Fly in anyone for the day!
Rating: G, will change if needed.
Log:
With the last of the Pokemon singing vibes wafting their way out, there’s still a chance to have a fairly normal time here in Goldenrod. The Valentine’s Masquerade has been prepared, and the beautiful hostesses are ready to attend to their guests need. They rented out a small, one floor building for their needs, and it has been lavishly decorated in white frills, pink and red hearts, and the occasional cupid.
There’s more than enough room on the dance floor, as elegant ballroom music plays, courtesy of those nice folks at the Radio Tower. For those who are not exactly ready for the ballroom blitz, there are paper footprints on the floor to help you around if you’d like a waltz or foxtrot.
Some tables have been set up if you want a break from dancing. The first is a table for cards and masks – this is a masquerade after all! You can cut up your own from paper for cards, and paint your own choice of colors for the soft mask molds. There is glitter, feathers, glue, beads, fake jewelry, everything you’d need to create a pretty disguise and express how you feel in the written word.
A second table is full on banquet of Valentines sweets. A chocolate fountain has been set up, along with several dipping choices – fruits and extra candy, naturally. There are handmade chocolates there as well – milk, dark, white, full of peanuts, almonds, etc – but for those of you who can’t stand chocolate anymore, there is plenty of fresh cut up fruit to snack on. There’s also a large punch bowl for the thirsty, but you will get a nasty finger wagging at if you spike it.
Off in the corner, many books of poetry are piled up. Granted, they are mostly about Pokemon, but it’s the thought that counts. There’s also a stool and microphone set if you’d like to read your own creations, or perhaps croon to your sweetheart.
Please don’t tag until this sentence has a line through it. Have fun!

[ESPECIALLY AFTER THE AMOUNT OF CONVINCING THAT TOOK...
However. He'll just be tipping his head in the direction of that dance floor, if you don't mind.]
Might I have the pleasure, then...?
no subject
But the important thing is that she solved the puzzle eventually! The Professor would be proud of her dedication!]]
You may~
[[...if you're going to be this damn charming all night her evening will be magnificent.]]
What sort of dance would you like to do? Waltz, Foxtrot...Tango?
[[Have a giggle~]]
no subject
As it is, we currently have 4/4 music and an unwillingness on Kimblee's part to destroy his spine any more than the routes already have, so!]
The music is more suited toward some sort of foxtrot for now, I believe; are you familiar with it?
no subject
I've seen it a few times here and there, but I've never actually done it; however, I'm more than capable of keeping up with you~
[[So she'll just position her hand on your shoulder in preparation!]]
I'll follow your lead, then, shall I?
no subject
His left hand seeks out her right at the feeling of that touch on his shoulder; he pulls her in with his right - not tightly enough to press her against him completely, but definitely closing their proximity a good amount - before settling it against her upper back, his touch reasonably gentle but still firm enough for leading purposes.]
Of course, Miss Altava; I've no doubt that you'll do just fine.
no subject
If I think of it as a puzzle I won't disappoint, Mr Kimblee!
no subject
A puzzle it is, then.
[Kimblee has always been a horrible teacher, as far as he's concerned; he hasn't anywhere near the temperament for it, nor does he have the patience required. However, Emmy has proven to be a rather physically-oriented individual; with something like this, he has no doubt that teaching by example is something that he can actually do with her.
The steps he's using are a bit simplified for now; if she takes well to it, that won't last long, but there's no sense in getting ahead of themselves. Simplified or not, however, his movements are graceful, and he takes easily to leading; rather than focusing over her shoulder, however, as he'd been taught to do with things like this, he keeps his gaze focused on her - not staring her down, but remaining attentive, gauging her reaction.]
no subject
She looks slightly to the side as he starts moving, but not to view anything in particular; more to focus on his steps and mimic them as best she can, biting her lip ever-so-slightly. But it doesn't take her long to catch up, and before long they're dancing gracefully in-sync with one another, Emmy laughing breathlessly as she returns his gaze with confidence and a happy smile.]]
This is all so exciting! Is there anything you aren't good at, Mr Kimblee?
no subject
I could ask you a very similar question, you know - possessing such loveliness and talent is an incredibly rare combination.
[Now that she seems to have the basics down, he moves a bit tighter against her, establishing proper points of contact against the left side of her body with his right to allow for some of the more elaborate movements involved in dances like this.]
It's good to know that you're enjoying yourself, however.
no subject
Stop being so charming, I'm trying to focus!
[[And after a comment like that, well. She'd be lying if she said more contact was unwelcome! Faster moves would be more exciting, anyway~]]
But I...must admit, I'm having quite the lovely time, yes.
[[And with that remark she will meet his gaze! ...before averting it to the side and laughing softly
...it's times like these she's
rather glad she chose a mask that covers the majority of her face
that way he won't see the fact that she's blushing
ever-so-slightly
...
...x4 weak to Gentlemen]]
no subject
[He can't exactly see the blushing, but what he can see of her reaction is telling enough; he laughs a bit, the sound light, before picking up the pace a bit. Faster moves are more exciting, after all - she wasn't wrong about that much.]
Do they not have parties like this in London, then?
no subject
Oh, they do, but they're more for the high society crowd; I'm yet to have to infiltrate one for work, unfortunately!
[[Speaking of which, despite the pace quickening, Emmy is still breathing quite comfortably; all that parkour does keep one fit.]]
I'd love to show you London, Mr Kimblee! I think you'd fit right in.
no subject
I would love to see it someday, Miss Altava - and given that this place exists and can reach both your world and mine, the chances aren't entirely impossible.
[Just mostly, however, and his tone implies that he knows it - definitely more teasing than serious.]
no subject
...not that she hasn't been smiling all night, but...]]
We could make a day of it! Half in your world, half in mine!
[[She giggles softly, then, meeting his gaze and winking.]]
Just don't surprise me with any secret wives or 3 year-old daughters and I think it would be a lovely outing~
no subject
no subject
burying her face in your shoulder and laughing alright]]
Please, spare me! I'll do anything!
no subject
[Again, his voice is obviously teasing, though he's smirking quite a bit, good lord.]
That's quite the broad offer, Miss Altava.
no subject
Whatever it takes to avoid an onslaught of adorable photos, Mr Kimblee~
no subject
It's your loss, however.
no subject
you really suck ugh that face
she can sense it through the mask, dammit
....and she is totally not laughing]]
I don't know; buy me a drink or two and I may be happy to have a gander at them!
[[You are the most amusing thing, how dare you be so damn charming!]]
no subject
[We are totally not as amused as we seem to be, Miss Altava, figment of your imagination and all.]
I would gladly take you out for drinks sometime, without the bribe, you know...but if you insist, I may be able to find a few photos.
no subject
[[She seems to have this talent for amusing you, Mr Kimblee
...even when she's trying so very hard not to...]]
Let me guess....scotch? Give me a hint if I'm wrong!
no subject
But you aren't wrong, either - I was rather fond of it back then.
no subject
[[....or close enough!!]]
I'm not much of a drinker myself, really; perhaps we should just stick to our coffee dates.
no subject
IS EVERYONE FROM LONDON THIS CUTE]
As many as you like, Miss Altava.
