Here they had finally made it out to Ilex Forest, after Luke had encouraged his older self that all this nice weather would make for a perfect camping trip. After picking the forest to set up camp, it was just a matter of time to get set up before the real fun could start. Luke figured they had all the essentials: tents, supplies, sleeping bags, marshmallows (and Luke made sure to double-check in case he forgot those marshmallows, since that's obviously the most important thing). Pretty much everything they needed right there. About an hour of figuring out how to sent up a tent, they were set for the rest of the week. Luke was busy unpacking a few things while Mr. Bear tried to discreetly sneak a few things out of their food supply.

"What do you think we ought to do first, big Luke? We could go looking around! Gosh, I gotta say it's pretty nice to be able to camp out without having to worry about hurrying to the next town!"

It's hard to hide the excitement in his voice. This was manly bonding right here and he's gonna be hanging out with big Luke and it's gonna be so cool.

[Clive couldn't help but laugh at the enthusiasm in Luke's voice. It's... honestly adorable, and though he's pretty enthusiastic about the whole thing too because it's an excuse for him to get out of Goldenrod for a bit, it's probably not on Luke's level.]

Indeed! I've never been here before, so looking around would be nice.

[He's certainly liking what he's seeing so far.]

Did you know there's Bulbasaur in this forest? This is where I found Tulip! Maybe we can find some even rarer Pokemon if we looked hard enough!

[He's just hovering around Clive because he's incredibly eager to get going and start looking around.]

Where do you wanna start?

Oh, really? We should be on the lookout for rare Pokémon while we're here, then.

[He takes a quick look around and... pretty much just points down a random path.]

Let's go this way.

[Man who even needs directions they can probably find their way back just through awesome survival instincts.

Or maybe they'll get horribly lost who knows. Luke starts following next to Clive, occasionally trying to take the lead.]

So are you excited about this trip, big Luke? It's certainly a lot different then living out of a hotel in Goldenrod.

[He's... kind of betting on getting lost, but if worse comes to worse, they have their Pokémon to help them out.]

Definitely. I can't say I've ever gone camping in the woods before, but it should be interesting.

I'll say! I'm sure this is exactly the sort of thing that gentlemen do to spend time together.

Yes, I couldn't think of a more gentlemanly activity.

[Well, yes he can, but he's just humoring Little Luke here.]

How long has it been since you were last here, anyway?

A few months, at least. I think the last time I was here was when I-

[was tied up to bear thanks to the Professor's Pokemon. Luke pales a little.]

-er, it wasn't the best experience, let's just put it that way.

[He gives Luke a reassuring headpat.]

Well, I'll make sure there aren't any unpleasant experiences on this trip!

Ha, well so far so good! It's already way better then the last time I was here!

[After three days of crazy camping shenanigans, it's time to start heading back to Goldenrod. Clive actually had more fun than he thought he would, so he's pretty disappointed that they have to leave now. But sadly, they can't stay here forever; he'll fall behind on his Rocket work if he spends too much time out here, and that won't be good at all.

He helps Luke pack everything up, taking a quick look around afterwards to make sure they didn't miss anything.]

Ready to go?

I wish we could've stayed longer...

[Ah, days always go faster when you're having fun. Luke takes a quick look around.]

Mhm, I think that's everything!

[He nods and picks up some of the heavier stuff, starting to head out of the forest.]

We'll have to go on another trip like this sometime.

[Luke follows along behind him, carrying a small pack and a couple of bags.]

Hey, do you think we could camp on the beach next?

That's a wonderful idea! It'll definitely be a lot harder to get lost on a beach...

[Plus swimming and sun bathing, awww yeah.]

Yeah! Just think, we could go swimming anytime we want!

And you're right, it definitely would be harder to get lost. Er, perhaps next time we go camping out here we might want to mark our trail a lot better.

[He chuckles a bit.]

Yeah, we ought to do that.

[He doesn't say anything more after that, focusing on where they're going. Getting lost in this place is so ridiculously easy...

As they begin to approach a fork in the path, Clive tries to remember which way they came in from, but his mind suddenly goes blank and then his body decides it's time to take a nap, him and the bags he was carrying dropping to the ground like flies. It probably looks like he just suddenly tripped, except Clive's not even attempting to get back up.]

[Luke turns his head at the sound of Clive falling, thinking he tripped over a stray branch or something, not at all registering the fact that Clive hasn't made any kind of sound since he fell. Oh great, he thinks, now they're going to have to pick all this stuff up again.]

Oh big Luke, do be careful of the-

...

Big Luke?

[Nope, he's still not moving... Not even the slightest twitch, and he doesn't make a sound, either. It's pretty safe to say at this point that something's very wrong here.]

...Big Luke?! Big Luke, wake up!!

[He's shaking him now, panicked.]

Please wake up!

[And he quickly looks over his shoulder, about to call for help before realizing they're alone here.]

I-it's going to be all right, big Luke! I promise! I'll get help, so just hang on!

[And with that, he hurries for his Pokegear, quick to contact the Professor and Emmy for help.]
