ROCKET SHENANIGANS AHOY
Who: Clive Dove (
vengefulyears), Jean Descole (
scientificflair), Solf J. Kimblee (
explosivecombat), Frank Archer (
determinator), Wheatley (
brilliantideas), Dr. Kato (
artfuldestruction), and Marceline (
stolemyfries)
Where: Goldenrod City - Rocket HQ
When: April 13th - April 18th
Summary: After waking up from his unusually long canon update coma, Clive needs to get away from Layton and Luke for a while, so what better place to go than the Rocket base? Since he'll be having quite a few interactions with fellow Rocket members, I've decided to put it all in one log to spare the comm from spam.
Rating: PG-13 at most
Log:
[Clive suddenly finds himself awakening in his hotel room in Goldenrod, much to his frustration and confusion. He was in London just a moment ago, about to finally exact his revenge against Bill Hawks and the scientists that ruined his life... Had it all just been a dream?
He notices his PokéGear sitting on the night stand, so he picks it up and checks the date. April 13th. Clive doesn't remember exactly what date it was when he was last conscious in Johto, but it was definitely sometime near the end of March, so it's safe to say at this point that he was in a coma. He's heard about people mysteriously falling into comas and returning to their worlds during that time, so it all really was real. Layton seeing through his disguise, revealing the future London to be a fake... And the opportunity had finally come, after years of waiting, to wreak havoc upon London and give them all the "justice" they deserved, but nope, Johto had to go and be a fucking cocktease and pull him back before that could happen. To say he's mad would be an understatement.
There's no way he can face Layton or Luke right now. Just... no, it'd be too much for him to handle. They've been in Johto this whole time, they still don't have any idea about Clive's true identity or any of that. It's just too infuriating to deal with right now.
Fortunately, it seems that neither of them are around right now, so now would be the perfect time to hightail it out of here and to a place where neither of them will ever find him. So Clive grabs his things and makes his way toward the Rocket base.]

Descole
He snaps out of his thoughts long enough to notice that the door to the lab is right there. It's highly unlikely that he can recreate another giant robot all by himself, but he could make something small and simple, like explosives... Yes, that should be a decent substitute.
Clive opens the door to the lab, really hoping that there's no one else in there right now.]
no subject
He's a bit jumpier than usual when he hears someone coming in; he relaxes quickly enough, though, and it's something that really can be chalked up to simple startling caused by not expecting someone to come in right now. He actually doesn't seem displeased to see Clive, though he isn't overly pleased, either; Clive will pretty much be receiving the usual amount of smirking douchery, really.]
Well, don't you seem like a man on a mission.
no subject
He tries to mask his seething rage at the world with a smile, though it's rather fake, and the look in his eyes isn't anywhere near as calm and pleasant as it usually is.]
I suppose you could say that.
[And he goes to start gathering the materials he needs. It should be pretty obvious from the materials he's gathering that he intends to make explosives.]
no subject
And what sort of mission are you on, exactly?
no subject
I just... I need to destroy something. Something big. Like a building, or maybe an entire city, or an entire region!
[He lets out a rather disturbing laugh.]
Yes, that would just be fantastic! To watch all of Johto become engulfed in flames, to listen to the desperate screams and cries of its panicking citizens... Doesn't it sound just wonderful?
[PLEASE SAY NO]
no subject
...you know, there really is no response to this that isn't slapping Clive and telling him to pull himself together, man. However, if he tries that and you manage to deflect it somehow, that is going to result in what is at best a bitchslap battle in the lab, and at worst a bitchslap battle in the lab that will end in something being destroyed in a rather spectacular manner.
Descole's hand twitches a good amount as a result - he really wants to slap you, Clive - but he will refrain for now.]
Will you calm yourself down? I don't know what just happened in your head, but believe it or not, there are a few things that running around burning everyone won't solve.
[He reaches out a bit, toying with one of the instruments on the counter he's been standing at; it's nothing that he can really use to defend himself, nor is it even anything particularly useful at all - it's just something for his hands to do.]
Tell me what this is. What happened.
no subject
All right, but before I get into any of that, I have a confession to make.
[He sits on the edge of the nearby table and looks straight at Descole. There's a brief moment of hesitation before he speaks again.]
I'm not Luke. This whole "future Luke" thing is just a ruse meant to fool the professor and the real Luke for the sake of a large-scale plot to bring justice upon the city of London.
[Of course, when he says "justice" he means trashing the fuck out of it.]
My real name is Clive Dove.
[He's going to give Descole a moment to let that all sink in before he explains any further.]
no subject
[The name sounds a bit strange when said, but he can get used to it; he spends another moment in silence once it's out there, continuing to toy with his small bit of metallic whatnot before he asks about one of the more...obviously out-of-place pieces of all that.]
Well, I really only have your earlier raving to go off of, but by "justice", I assume you mean you were going to do something a bit...unorthodox?
no subject
no subject
...not like he'll be doing much of that with the explosives he has access to, but Descole doesn't doubt that he'll at least give it the old college try.]
I have time.
no subject
But then, right at the crucial moment, I suddenly found myself waking up here. It's just so infuriating! I've waited years to finally get back at the people who ruined my life as well as the lives of countless others, but Johto took it all away from me just like that! It just... it feels like I'll never be able to win.
[Silence. He's done now, really.]
no subject
Well, to be perfectly frank, that's completely insane, Clive, but Descole knows better than to say that flat-out; he isn't going to be nearly that full-on after being told anything like this.
All right. Let's. Try to deal with this. Sympathy isn't exactly Descole's strong suit, but...]
How many people know about this - have you told anyone else?
no subject
[Which begs the following question.]
...You won't tell them, will you?
[Because, needless to say, if Descole intends on telling them everything, this is going to have a very violent ending. Even if he were to promise to keep his mouth shut, then go and tell them everything behind Clive's back, it would be extremely easy for Clive to figure out where they got that information from, since Descole is now the only person in Johto/Kanto who knows any of this.]
no subject
As far as I'm concerned, unless you choose to render it such, this is really none of their business, Clive. They'll find out whenever they go back, assuming they eventually do; if it isn't their time to know, then I'm certainly not going to tell them.
no subject
That's good to hear.
[.....what is he supposed to say now... This is the first time Clive has ever opened up to anyone like this before, and Descole is literally the last person he ever thought he'd be opening up to. So this is....
kind of
awkward
He looks around the room for a moment, just so he doesn't have to look at Descole during this moment of awkward. But thankfully, he manages to say something before this silence gets too long.]
...Um... thank you for listening. I didn't mean to take up so much of your time.
Kimblee
Since he isn't feeling completely terrible right now, Clive decides to go over and talk to him.]
Ah, Mister Kimblee! It's good to finally meet you in person.
Archer
The tests seem to be going well, as the sound of multiple explosions can be heard from coming in the lab. Clive is quite pleased with how they turned out, and it's certainly doing wonders for his mental state right now, so the explosions are probably going to keep coming for a while now.]
no subject
[A quick survey reveals that it's not Kimblee, and that instead someone else is working on explosives in the lab. Interesting. Archer's been fascinated with explosions since he ended up stuck with a (rather useless) alchemist quite some time ago. Kimbley - the version he knew back home - eventually made up for it.]
[The one he knows here is much more useful despite the lack of alchemy.]
[Anyway, Archer enters the lab and watches Clive for a moment before speaking.]
That's certainly impressive. You're creating these on your own? You're using chemical reactions, correct?
[Kimblee had mentioned something about kinetic energy, but that was only because of his alchemy, right? Archer doesn't pretend to understand how these things work.]
no subject
Yes, that's correct. Is there another way to make them?
[No really, this is a genuine question. It's kind of neat to learn how things work in other worlds, assuming that this man is from a world different from his own.]
Wheatley
no subject
[So you don't mind if he lets himself in and approaches, right? He's carrying his Woobat despite the fact that the Pokémon can obviously fly.]
Ah, you're a new face here! Have you just arrived here?
[No, if you had, you'd probably be freaking out more, right?]
What are you working on?
no subject
Just putting together some explosives. And no, I'm not actually new here; Johto suddenly decided that I needed a three week nap, so that may be why you haven't seen me before. I just woke back up a few days ago.
no subject
[Wheatley tips his head a bit, shifting his weight to the point where he nearly falls over trying to get a look at what you're working on.]
Explosives, you said? What are you planning on doing with those? Oh, could you perhaps wire a Pokémon to it - use it as a bomber? Though I believe I've heard about Pokémon learning to explode on their own, so I suppose that's a bit useless...
[You don't mind if Wheatley comes closer to examine your work, right? He doesn't know much about explosives, but he's curious!]
Kato
Well, whatever it is, he's just gonna poke his head in now and make sure everything's okay in here.]
1/2
Magnificent!! Now, let's try-
2/2
Ah, I hope my art didn't disturb you.
no subject
Oh, no, not at all! I just wanted to make sure no one was hurt in here.
no subject
[[....for humans. We won't mention pokemon.]]
Do you have an interest in explosives?
no subject
no subject
[[He's not the biggest fan, but he can appreciate why a person would like them.]]
Not quite as beautiful as an explosion, however. For isn't that the purest form of art; destruction?
no subject
[This is the strangest conversation ever but w/e]
no subject
A man after my own heart, then.
Perhaps you could assist me some time. I always welcome new inspiration.
no subject
[He extends a hand for a handshake.]
My name is Luke Triton, by the way.
no subject
How nice to make your acquaintance, Luke. Have you been a Rocket member for a while?
no subject
[He probably would have met Kato before if he had been around for a while.]
Marceline
Once the distance between them decreases a little more, he speaks up.]
Hey, long time no see!
Marceline
Hey you. Long time for sure. Where ya been?
no subject
And what have you been up to?
no subject
I want to get out and travel a bit myself. I haven't really explored this place much. Where've you gone to? Any good recs?
no subject
I'm thinking about heading over to the Safari Zone next, but I'll probably do that in another month or two.
