Rating: G
Log:
[After spending his birthday getting drunk with Kimblee, Clive isn't... really feeling so great in the morning, so he ends up just downing some painkillers and sleeping it off. When he wakes up again in the afternoon, he's still feeling pretty off, but it isn't as bad as it was in the morning. Enough time has passed that he can take another dose of painkillers, so he does that and then he picks up his PokéGear from his night table. It's been over a week since he last touched this thing, so he figures it's about time he turned it back on and see what's going on over the network.
He quickly forgets about this, though, because the first thing he sees when his PokéGear boots back up is all the messages he has in his voicemail. Looking at his inbox, there's only one message from Layton, and the rest are all from Luke. Clive listens to the message from Layton and the first few from Luke before deciding Jesus fucking Christ, he really ought to be getting back to them now. He can probably guess how the rest of Luke's messages go, so he wipes everything from his inbox and grabs his things, heading straight out of the Rocket base and towards the hotel.]
(( Gonna be making separate threads for everyone like I did in the Rocket log, so just comment under your respective thread! ))

Luke

still worriedtotally not caring if big Luke shows up or not!Which is why when Clive enters the room, Luke's eyes widen for a moment looking slightly relieved, before turning away in a huff.
Mature adult right here.]
no subject
Clive walks further into the room and sets his stuff down by his bed. For once, he has no idea what to say, so he's just going to pull stuff out of his ass here.]
Look, I'm... really sorry I just up and left without saying anything. I had a really bad dream while I was in my coma, and I just... I panicked, and I wanted to think things over by myself for a while. I shut off my PokéGear so I wouldn't have any distractions, so I didn't even see your messages until a little while ago.
no subject
But really it just looks like he's pouting.]
no subject
Come on, you can't stay mad at me forever.
no subject
I was so worried, you big jerk!
no subject
I truly am sorry... Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?
no subject
I-I'm just glad you're back, okay! Don't do that again!
no subject
[Clive's just gonna stand here and keep on hugging Luke until he wants to pull away.]
no subject
[He sniffs and pulls away.]
So you didn't leave because you were angry with us?
no subject
Of course not! Why would I be angry with you?
[Lying through his teeth here...]
no subject
no subject
[At least that isn't a lie.]
no subject
[He pauses, thoughtful.]</small I'm glad you're back, then.
Layton

[ He puts down his pen and gets up to answer the door. He's not expecting it to anyone besides maybe Luke or Flora, asking for something, so it comes to a big surprise and relief that Clive's at his door. ]
Luke-- [ WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU, MATE ] --are you unharmed?
[ You didn't run across any Rockets, did you? Oh, the irony. ]
no subject
Yeah, I'm fine. I just... wanted to apologize for suddenly disappearing without saying a word. It won't happen again.
[If he can help it, anyway.]
no subject
I assume you've had good enough reasons to run off like that, without any warning.
[ He steps aside a bit, leaving space for Clive to come in. ]
no subject
I had a bad dream while I was in my coma, and I just needed to be alone for a while. I was panicking at the time, so it didn't even occur to me to leave a note or anything. I truly am sorry...
no subject
Did your dream, by any chance, start off at the exact moment back in London before you've arrived here?
no subject
I think so, yes... I do know that people who suddenly fall into comas here usually return to their worlds while they're out, so there's a good chance that my dream actually happened. If that's true, then it would be something you haven't experienced yet, so I don't think it would be wise to speak about it with you.
[Yup, he's pretty much shutting Layton down before he can ask for deets, because he knows that's where he's going with it.]
But either way, I'm not worried about it anymore, so it's fine.
no subject
If you do insist.
I hope that you have visited Luke first about this. Needless to say, he was extremely upset with your sudden disappearance.
no subject
[He takes another sip of tea before looking right into Layton's eyes with a look of concern.]
How about you, though? The last time I saw you, you seemed quite upset yourself.
no subject
Yes, I admit that I was during the time, but I assure you that it has passed over. Truth be told, I was more concerned about your well-being.
[ Y'know, the coma and then disappearing after. ]
no subject
I'm really sorry for making you worry. And Little Luke, as well.
no subject
[ He leans over slightly to also place his cup and saucer on the nearby nightstand, the stirrer still in the cup. He then sits back up straightly and slowly, but surely also wraps his arms around Clive. He's quiet at first but he speaks after a few seconds. ]
As long as you truly do not intend on departing like that again, then I will forgive you. Little Luke will be the same.
no subject
Of course. It will never happen again.
[He's silent for another moment before he speaks up again.]
Professor, can we spend more time together? During the weekends, anyway... I'm not really going to have any free time during the weekdays anymore.
[Clive's been getting plenty of Little Luke time for quite a while now, but hardly any professah time...]
no subject
[ He takes a second to think of his schedule on the weekends. Hm, he should have some time. ]
Yes, I do think I have some free time during then. I would greatly enjoy to spend the weekend together.
no subject
That's good to hear. I don't want us to drift apart again...
no subject
Yes, I assure you that it will not happen here.
[ He has no idea what has really changed him in the "future" and really, he's suspicious of it because he knows himself better than anyone else. He wouldn't really change that drastically, would he? Well, he'll figure it out once he goes back home and solves the case, whenever that'll be... ]
Are there any plans you have in mind for the weekend?
no subject
Perhaps we could head up to the National Park? It's close enough to be suitable for a nice weekend trip, and I won't have the time to stray too far from Goldenrod again for a while.
no subject
National Park does seem ideal, and it's quite pleasant when the weather is nice. If I remember correctly, it should be quite warm this weekend.
[ Actually, it's a ridiculous spike in temperature but well, better than giving Johto hail this time of year. ]
no subject
[So exciiiiiiite!!]
Oh, there's one other thing I need to ask you about. When I was talking with Little Luke earlier, he mentioned wanting to buy a house here in Goldenrod for the three of us to stay in, and Emmy too if she so wishes. What do you think?
no subject
For quite some time, I have been considering such an idea, but have never manage to get around to it. I would be pleased to share a house with you all.
It will be nice to have something to call "home" once again.
no subject
Great! We'll have to start looking at houses sometime soon. So with me, you, Little Luke, and Emmy, that's four bedrooms...
[Not including Flora because he doesn't even know that she's here yet...]
no subject
We will have to make that five bedrooms instead, my boy. While you've been asleep, Flora has arrived in Johto.
I highly suggest you give her a visit after.
Flora
no subject
Big Luke!
[With a beam, she steps forward to embrace him. COME TAKE THIS HUG.]
no subject
Hey, Flora! How are you?
no subject
Come in, have a seat! Would you like some tea?
no subject
[He enters the room once Flora invites him in and takes a seat.]
A cup of tea would be delightful, thank you.
no subject
[Though, instead of bringing over a tea cup, she hurries to a drawer and fetches a bottle. Bringing it over, she grins.]
Here you are, Big Luke! The Professor took me to this Mart yesterday, and there was this interesting invention I just had to purchase! Tea in bottles! Isn't it fascinating?
