SHE DID NOT GET LOST
Who: Emmy Altava (
snapandscoot) and Crow Hogan (
darkenedgales)
Where: Cianwood City!
When: Exactly two days after she left from Olivine. OR IS IT? (Roughly dated to Emmy returning from the Safari Zone).
Summary: Emmy and Crow have a fantastic argument over a bet they made. Also, Fearows. Named Fearo.
Rating:G, good lord PG, CROW Y SO UNGENTLEMANLY?????
Log:
Emmy had found Crow perched (hur hur) on a bench near the beach, waiting for her. How smug! How insufferable!
"I think you'll find you owe me a coffee, Mr Hogan!"
She knew the 'Mr' would annoy him; which was exactly why she did it! Despite completely and utterly making it to the island in time, Emmy...promptly forgot about cashing in on the bet and raced off to the Safari zone. Now it was impossible to prove that she'd made it to the island in the required time frame for their bet.
But if Emmy was sure of one thing, it was that she wasn't going to let this puzzle defeat her! Oh no siree!
"Ready to pay up~?"

"Ready to pay up~?"

no subject
"It's Crow," he corrected her, a smirk quickly replacing his slightly irritated pout, "And like hell! I ain't the one paying today, y'know."
no subject
She has every intention of keeping her trolling hand strong until she wins this battle!
"And I think you'll find I made it to Cianwood in our decided time, thank you! Unless you're doubting the word of a lady?"
no subject
In which case, the battle could take a long time, as Crow was not the kind of person to give up easily, either.
Lady or not had very little (if any at all) meaning to him -- he was willing to believe anyone who could confirm their words. And as it was now, Emmy sure couldn't.
"I trust the calendar." Saying that, he pulled out his 'Gear and proudly pointed to the date. "Today isn't the day we agreed on!"
And, in his opinion, that settled it.
no subject
"Technically, no, but I had other business to attend to!"
Like running madly up cliffs to catch Pokemon!
....she definitely didn't forget!
"Besides, I made it in the time we decided! So you're the loser, Mr Hogan!"
no subject
"Crow," this time, he said it slowly and clearly to make sure he got his point across. But as much as he didn't enjoy being called that, his smug expression remained unchanged.
"What exactly kept ya busy? Getting lost?"
There. Nobody calls Crow Hogan a loser and gets away with it.
no subject
Darn it! She's on the weaker side of this argument and she knows it. Not that that means she'll give up!
"You're just going to have to take me at my word, because it's the truth! It's not ladylike to fib, after all!"
no subject
Which there weren't, if you asked him.
"Got any proof?"
And no, Emmy, saying 'I'm a lady' wouldn't be enough to convince him.
no subject
"And do you have any proof that I didn't?"
no subject
And while that wasn't the strongest argument in the history, to Crow, it was enough; he might not have been able to prove she hadn't reached Cianwood in time (not that he even considered the possibility she had at this point), but he sure as hell could prove she hadn't shown up for their meeting.
no subject
"I may concede defeat if you buy me a cup of tea!"
no subject
"And end up paying even though I won? Forget it, that ain't happening!"
Honestly, Crow didn't mind standing here for days if it meant getting his victory.
no subject
"The point is that you didn't win, Crow!"
It was official. They were going to be here forever.
no subject
"Keep telling yourself that!"
However, no matter how confident and smug he was about their deal, Crow was genuinely curious what had taken Emmy so long and why wouldn't she already admit she'd lost, considering how, what was it? 'It's not ladylike to fib' or whatever. As far as the duelist was concerned, she seemed rather obsessed with this whole ladies-and-gentlemen crap, so you'd think she would have given up by now...
"So, what took ya so long?" Crow asked, both his tone and smile lacking the mockery from just a moment ago. "If you bumped into a bunch of Gyarados and were busy fighting 'em off, I might get ya that coffee, if only for trying."
no subject
Answering the question could either win or lose her the battle...or it could do nothing at all. Emmy chooses to answer it.
"I made it to the island in two days - really! - I just....got a bit excited when I heard about that Safari Zone place. It look me a little while to get there; all those cliffs! But I got down rather quickly because of this fellow here."
Emmy produces a Pokeball, and from it comes a Fearow, squawking happily.
"I caught him in the Safari Zone! His name is Fearo! Say, Crow, you're a fan of Bird Pokemon; any tips?"
no subject
He stopped mid-sentence, gawking at the bird that had come out of the ball, and then suddenly letting out a loud shriek and moving back on the bench, nearly falling off it in the process.
"Keep him in that damn ball before he fucking kills someone!"
... Probably not what Emmy had in mind when she'd asked for tips, but that's what she'd be getting for now.
no subject
"....what are you talking about? Fearo is perfectly harmless."
As if to illustrate the point, she pats the Fearow on the beak, and he squawks happily, flapping his huge wings.
"Is everything alright, Crow?"
no subject
"Y-Yeah! Sorry 'bout that. 'S just, I have one of these, too, and she's..." he trails off, struggling to put 'trying to gouge my eyes out with her talons and stab me with her beak since the day we met' into words, "... a little aggressive."
That aside, she'd asked for advice, right? Then he should give her something actually useful.
"Let him fly round whenever he wants! Birds like their freedom and don't take being restrained too well, y'know."
no subject
Fearo agrees! He flaps his wings happily, before taking off into the air.
"...what was that you were saying about yours, Crow? That sounds terrifying!"
no subject
"Sirocco ain't that bad... She just seems to really hate my guts."
Because how else did one call the numerous attempts to murder them?
"Although, if you think 'bout it, she's never tried to run away or disobey me... And she's never given me serious injuries," he continued, chuckling a bit at the fond memories of the time he'd spent together with the Pokémon, "So maybe she just has a difficult character!"
