[It runs. The wind carries it, fog is its mantle, and the ground weeps dew at its passing. It has known only endless sleep for so long, and now, it has awakened to the scream of the grass and the clouds, knowing in its heart that the world's Order is not being kept. The Old One sleeps too, too deep, not watching, and then they all fell after it.

But then it heard whispers, up in its cold mountain hideaway where pure crystal water flows in trickling, shimmering rivulets. The water whispered to it, wake up wake up, I am hurt, and it did. Its brothers sleep still, their consciousness tickling at the back of its mind like a reassurance. It does not know what awaits, only that it must run, and seek, and destroy.]

[Well, this is GLaDOS' first time in any sort of vehicle like this; you'd think that after that incident where that orphan tried to kill her and ended up launching her through to the surface, this would be a little easier.

Or that incident with the moon. Don't get her started on the incident with the moon.

So really, you'd think that winging through the air would be a bit easier after all thaaaaaahahahahaha yeahno. She's currently got one hand pressed against the door, the other against the arm of the seat, and is pressing herself back so far in said seat that she appears to be trying to meld with it.

The most those incidents did were teach her that she won't die permanently. Never doing this again. Never. Nevernevernevernever.]

Don't get me wrong, it was a rousing speech - although I can't say that reminders of past failures tend to have the effect you're going for, usually.

[Well. Time to see which theory was right - Cobra's or Gorthan'. Except Gorthan already knows he's right.

He starts off by fighting Suicune with a tag team of Gallade and Ampharos.]

Ampharos, Discharge. Gallade, Leaf Blade.

[As he orders his attacks, he's agile enough to dodge any Ice Beam that may be aimed at him as opposed to his Pokémon. He just merely wonders how long he can keep this up.]

[Archer has a separate set of Pokémon to use for Team Rocket business. That said, he's actually brought his level 100s. You know, in case everyone in Team Rocket is a failure and they need someone to actually get shit done. Because obviously he's the best person for that.]

[...No, you don't need to comment on hilarious that is. Let's move on.]

[The remark is sarcastic, but Archer is flanked by his main team - Crobat, Honchkrow (who is currently perched across Archer's shoulders), Houndoom, Alakazam, Porygon-Z, and instead of Glaceon, he has his Raichu.]

When we're done with this, I'll have to teach your others Protect, won't I? That was the reusable TM I got for Christmas.

[He doesn't seem remotely worried by the Suicune, instead waving a hand airily to dismiss his Pokémon. Five of them immediately target Suicune - blasting attacks like it's no big deal. Honchkrow remains on Archer's shoulders as a means of protection.]

[Well, it was more like Archer doing his usual shrieking, but no big deal!]

Really, Gorthan? There are always greater rewards. To be honest, I had my suspicions from the moment we first heard about all this. Simple attacks like this wouldn't do us any good. The attack on the train had a larger goal in mind - this wouldn't compare, now would it?

I mentioned it in the hopes that they would work harder to avoid repeating ssssaid failure.

[He didn't go into details for a reason though. Trying to capture Lugia at sea, in rafts, in the middle of a storm did not end well.]

I'm guessing it's a really rare Pokémon? I didn't really pay too much attention to the announcement. I wonder what it looks like?

[Kimblee is like his battling partner in some regards; he has separate teams for Rocket business and...well, personal use. But out here, it hardly matters; as such, he has all five of the level 100s he's trained out here - Mamoswine, Ninetales, Arcanine, Starmie and Yanmega - as well as a sixth that he tends to take a lot of...personal...enjoyment with YES HE IS RIDING THAT DAMN STEELIX AGAIN LIKE IT AIN'T EVEN A THING

At the very least, his vantage point from a good thirty feet up is giving him a good field of view; he's communicating with his Pokémon through Starmie. It pays to have a psychic-type on the field after all, it seems; he's seen Archer do this before, and Kenya is more than content to relay messages.

Of course, it isn't long before an Ice Beam connects solidly with the Steelix; she isn't down for the count, though she lowers herself angrily toward the ground. Kimblee moves with her, crouching down to lower his center of gravity and throwing down a Full Restore to recover her HP; it's...probably for the best that he isn't relying on verbal commands to control his Pokémon, as he's holding on to that Steelix for dear life when she lunges toward Suicune with Thunder Fang, laughing maniacally the entire time.

This? This is what he signed on for.]

[Yeah, well some of us didn’t have access to a Center and their level 94 ice monster because they were stuck in a cave, Archer.]

[He’s hardly going to turn down assistance. Especially since Trubbish just had the misfortune of becoming frozen garbage.]

New strategy! Slice! Dice! Alternate using Protect any time a Beam comes near here! A.S.P.! Gunk Shot! Aim for the eyes if you have a clear shot! Strato-Viper! Target the head with those bombs! Skull Buster! Grab Sludge Viper and throw it at Suicune! Maybe then it’ll be useful!

[Okay, now that the orders are given, he can address Archer’s nonverbal commands.]

How are you ordering them without ssspeaking? Are you familiar with this creature?

[Gorthan... laughs. It's a hearty, jovial sound, which can be rather surprising, considering Gorthan's usual demeanor.]

Then you are far more imaginative than I am. But I suppose that that, too, should be expected.

[He's soon back to looking out the helicopter window.]

[Surely Archer has heard that quote before. Or not. Gorthan is mostly talking to himself now, anyway.]

[Honestly, he'd attempt to shriek at you, but there's no way you're going to hear him over the... everything. Seriously, this is ridiculous. He will send Crobat after you, though. Just to make sure you don't fall off that Steelix or anything.]

Commander, let us be serious here. Think, for a moment. What is fog?

[...Did you seriously just tell your Machoke to chuck your garbage bag at the Suicune? Dear god, Cobra. He approves of your message.]

[Archer doesn't give his Pokémon any verbal commands - instead they're all focusing their most powerful attacks at Suicune, occasionally switching tactics if they realize their attacks aren't doing anything.]

This one? No. I've never heard of it before and I've done extensive research on Pokémon here in Johto.

[Admittedly he didn't look into any "legends" since he thought they were all made up...]

I've worked extensively with all of my Pokémon. Alakazam can read my mind, of course, so if I need them to switch tactics immediately, he can relay the orders. Otherwise, they all respond to nonverbal cues. I find it much more effective in battle.

[And he doesn't have to shout out commands and risk looking dumb!]

[Archer quirks an eyebrow, but after a moment of processing that unexpected laugh, his smirk widens.]

You shouldn't underestimate me, Gorthan.

[It's simple chiding rather than actual anger.]

Indeed. I'm interested in seeing just what this Pokémon is capable of.

What is fog? What kind of question is that? It’s like a cloud, but at ground level! Your point, Gorthan?

[Kimblee actually manages to not simply fall off the snake when she rears up again after that Thunder Fang was intercepted with more ice to the face; he's keeping his balance rather well, actually - it's clear that hasn't suffered any, despite the fact that his reflexes in general have remained horrible despite his efforts in Johto to build his speed back up.

He doesn't say anything - too busy laughing like a maniac over here, no regrets - though he does throw another healing item of some sort down to cover that second Ice Beam; it's...about then that he notices that Crobat. He doesn't seem too aware of what it implies at first - that Archer's down below and probably rather annoyed with him - but after a moment he shoots his gaze downward and yep.]

[That shout is...kind of dementedly gleeful, and it comes right before Nagara makes another lunge forward at that Suicune.

[On the other hand, Gorthan seems to be very comfortable with this whole situation, and he doesn't even mind leaving his seat to join "Caroline". Who seems... distressed? There is empathy in his eyes as he approaches her.]

Caroline? Are you alright?

[Can you see him linefacing from all the way up there? Because it's kind of the mightiest lineface ever.]

[The remark is quiet though, and Archer motions for his Pokémon to go about their business. They know well enough to focus on attacking the creature without him giving them direct orders. It should be easy enough to take down with all of them. Ah, however...]

Tabiya, switch to Light Screen!

[The Raichu nods and darts back to use the move on her trainer. Archer shakes his head and gestures to the Steelix.]

I'm safe back here. Use it on Kimblee.

[After a moment of headtilting and wondering why his trainer is being so thoughtful, the Raichu runs off and puts up the barrier around the Steelix. Archer dismisses it with a wave of his hand and the Raichu goes back to attempting to Thunderbolt Suicune.]
