[Anywhere in Johto, there are people interacting. Some of these strangers interacting with other strangers. In short, this is The Ultimate Mingling post, where everyone can run into each other. Primarily for those in the fourth wall who run into another oddball from some other mythical land who's going "What's this place?" just like them, but for everyone who wants to just continue going nuts.

And yes, please, go nuts.]

[Twilight recognizes the legendary bird, but frankly, she's not that surprised. If anyone's going to have a Moltres for a Pokemon partner, it's Celestia.]

To be perfectly honest, I'm not entirely sure who or what to expect at this point.

[She trots over, a smile slowly forming on her face.]

But this is definitely a pleasant surprise.

Things certainly do seem to have gotten out of hand. [ Celestia's back dips when Moltres suddenly takes to the skies, wheeling up above the city. ]

Do you think this chaos is sinister in origin? [ POP QUIZ TIME, TWILIGHT. ]

[She glances up at Moltres, very impressed, before turning her attention to the question.]

Hmmm... possibly, but at the same time, it's definitely not a Discord style. It seems more like... like something's gone wrong with the laws of this world, if that makes any sense. I don't think there's anything consciously behind this.

[ Celestia smiles. That's exactly the astute sort of answer she expected from Twilight. It's the same conclusion Celestia came to, as well. ]

I think you're right.

But the changes this world is undergoing, while not malicious, do leave it with certain... vulnerabilities.

[ She looks over her shoulder at the bridge behind her. ]

This bridge has been repurposed as a portal of some sort. I don't know where it leads, but Moltres seems intent on preventing anyone from passing through it.

Huh. [She looks at the bridge as well, tilting her head a bit.]

Well, it's probably for the best that we listen to Moltres, then. I've found that the legendary Pokemon are usually not the sort of things you want to ignore, particularly when things are so absurd.

Though I'm now very curious as to where exactly it goes.

[ Chuckling, Celestia dips her head to speak in a conspiratorial whisper. ]

I've been thinking about taking a peek, myself. Maybe we should take our chance while Moltres is distracted.

[If it were anyone else suggesting this, Twilight would give them an earful. But the Princess? Totally fine with it now.]

Well, I suppose a little look couldn't hurt... at least to find out where it goes.

[She glances up at Moltres, watching it patrol around the city.]

When it turns to check the other side?

Sounds like a plan.

[ She turns, keeping an eye over her shoulder on Moltres, and ambles casually onto the bridge, stopping just short of the spot where — if you're close enough — you can see the air shimmer, like heat waves off of pavement.

In the background, Moltres dips a wing and banks around the far side of the city. ]

[She canters up beside her teacher, keeping step with her, and pauses right on the edge of the portal.]

Wow, no wonder you two had to guard it. If you weren't looking out for it, it would be ridiculously easy to just wander right into the portal.

[Leaning forward, she just barely keeps her nose from touching it.] Hmmm... Well, nothing else we can do but look. Shall we, Princess?

You first, Twilight.

[ Don't worry, she's not going to push you in. Probably. She does have that sparkle of mischief in her eye, though. ]

As you wish.

[She's not sure what to make of that look, but this is the Princess! What could possibly go wrong? She sticks her face forward, just enough to get her eyes over the haze that represents where the portal is.]

[ And on the other side of the portal is the picturesque scenery of Equestria, as viewed from a distant hilltop. Something isn't quite right, though — the roads are empty, the cities and towns still. There are no ponies in this Equestria.

On the other side of the portal, Celestia bumps Twilight's fetlock with her back hoof, having spotted Moltres turning their way again. She's facing away from the portal, herself, so as not to look too suspicious. ]

[Well, whatever she was expecting, it certainly wasn't that. Twilight just boggles at the sight before her for a few moments before she feels Celestia nudge her. Pulling her face out and stepping back from the portal, she turns to her mentor with wide eyes.]

It's... it's Equestria!

Equestria?

[ Celestia raises her eyebrows. She's not completely shocked; after all, there must be a reason Moltres selected her to guard this portal. Even so, to think that there's a way home right behind her... ]

I suppose it's best that we're guarding it, then. Who knows what could happen to Equestria if it were occupied by the inhabitants of all these other worlds.

Occupied would be the right word for it. There was... no one there. I couldn't see a single pony, or even any animals. It was like the everything I could see had been... emptied, somehow.

[To say that it was unnerving was a serious understatement.]

[ From the look on Twilight's face, Celestia can see that. With a glance toward the still-ignorant Moltres, she turns toward the portal. ]

Keep an eye out while I take a look, would you?
