bribing gets you what you want
Who: Marui, Killua
Where: Goldenrod, at acafe dessert place
When: after this
Summary: Marui bribes Killua to release Danny with some sweets and is determined to talk those issues out of him.
Rating: PG13 for Killua
The first thought Marui had when he had Killua sit across him at this dessert cafe was, Oh my god I'm turning into Jackal.
Not that it should be a bad thing, but this sort of thing- this whole "No, sit down, and I am going to lecture you about all the bad things you've been doing!" is-- was-- is, Marui corrected himself mentally, Jackal's role. Whether he was in Johto or not. Marui was probably just missing his best friend too much that a part of him was subconsciously emulating him. That was probably it. Briefly he wondered if the same thing happens to Yagyuu, but with him and Niou, sometimes he couldn't tell.
In any case, he'd been acting like the fussy mother the past few months except he noticed it was more evident whenever Killua was concerned, rather than his own Pokemon. It would nearly give him heart attacks to check the Gear's network and see that Killua was up to no good, doing this and that. This must be how Jackal felt, whenever he was off to mischief with Akaya. How did his best friend ever stay sane?
Marui took a long sip from his extra thick strawberry milkshake, staring down at Killua. Might as well get this over with.
"I doubt you'll be telling me exactly what you were thinking, dressing that poor guy in girl's clothes and broadcasting it for everyone to see," he said flatly. "And not just that. A lot of the things you've been doing aren't stuff kids your age should be doing!" Marui remembered that one time with the lewd video Killua was watching. His cheeks colored a little as he tried to push the memory away.

"For the other stuff I was just bored at the time and decide to do something to liven up my day," He shrugs a little. "I don't really know that many kids my age back home expect Gon. He really wouldn't care too much about it."

Marui was about to take a bite out of his super fudge brownie when Killua's last few words registered. "...You really have a lot of bad influences back home, huh," he said, placing the brownie back on his plate.
He rested his chin on his hand and looked at Killua. So maybe it wasn't really a Jackal thing going on, but more of a big brother thing. This whole thing began to remind him now of one of his younger brothers who'd gotten in trouble with a bunch of grade school bullies because he spoiled him too much. Maybe it was like that? Sometimes he hated being the older responsible brother, but he had to do it.

He takes a moment to ponder the other male's last statement.
"I guess, but I wasn't even home that much anyway." Bad influences was putting it lightly what Killua had been through there. At this point Killua put most thoughts of home behind him.
