Rebel's Rendezvous!
Who: Duncan, Korra, Ty Lee, anyone traveling with Korra, etc.
Where: Violet City
When: Mid-morning. 10am or so.
Summary: Kid Felon here offered to keep Korra company for a while, and didn't exactly expect so many people with her already.
Rating: ...I dunno, PG, maybe PG-13 at the absolute worst?
Log:
Near as Duncan could tell from his Pokégear's clock, he was more or less on time. Johto's newest delinquent hadn't been in town long, and he'd grudgingly been sleeping in the Pokémon center rather than get himself thrown in jail again for a free room. Again. It'd probably make it hard to keep his word to ol' misty-eyes if he did, and he wasn't gonna ditch on somebody without a good reason. As usual, the kid with the green mohawk was wearing his clothes from home, since nothing says "good first impression" like punk rock casual and a spiked collar. On the bright side, Fang had been on fairly good behavior all morning (he only chased three people!), and the Mightyena was quietly walking alongside its master toward the Pokémart where he'd arranged to meet Korra. But it wouldn't hurt to lay down some ground rules, right?
"Alright, no matter how bad you want to, don't go chasin' after that Korra girl's little chick thing. I know you could probably beat it up, but that don't mean you have to." ...yes, Duncan was totally talking to a Pokémon, shut up. He wanted Fang to behave for this, and while he initially stared up at his trainer, clearly perplexed at these completely out-of-the-ordinary instructions, Fang eventually barked in agreement. Granted, he also walked with his head a little lower than usual, sulking at being told not to attack ALL THE THINGS.
"And drop the hang dog look, it's not like I'm tellin' you you can't fight stuff. I'll take you outside the city later and you can pound on some wild ones for a while." That seemed to lift his spirits again, as the next bark was followed by a renewed spring in the mightyena's step. Though there was no telling how Fang'd handle having to wait more than a few minutes. He wasn't used to Duncan loitering around anywhere, they'd been traveling practically non-stop since they left New Bark. With Korra nowhere in sight once they reached the Pokémart, Duncan figured he might as well take it easy while he waited. He found a vacant bench to lay down on, while Fang the Mightyena sat rigidly on the ground next to him...and trying to resist the urge to chase after a wild Bidoof that had wandered into town.

Or rather, she was trying to.
She never understood how tiny-then-small-sized, red and white balls could contain the slightly large creatures she currently carried as her "team." And the Avatar wouldn't even get started on how they all came from eggs, even when some of them clearly looked... mammal-like. This world was certainly proving itself to be rather fantastical and unique, not that that could be a bad thing, but, sheesh. Korra still needed to get used to this place.
"Huh. Looks like we're getting-- ahgh!" Korra gazed low as her Gible purposefully bumped into the back of her shin. She knew what that meant. Days after each of the eggs she bought from the Breeding Center came to her and finally hatched - seriously, how? - Korra had become well acquainted with her team. She sighed before she stooped low and picked up her little "dragon," and placed him on her right shoulder.
"Like the view, Taring?" Korra asked conversationally. She kept her hand where it was to steady him. He growled his approval while he continued to wave his arms about like a child. Behind her, her Mudkip, Sita, and Rai the Shinx willingly played Follow the Leader. Beside the Avatar walked Agni the Torchic, and her Cubchoo named Naga bravely trailed in front of the Avatar as she sniffed the direction to the Pokemart.
Yeah. Aside from the weird fish, screw the Pokeballs. Her Pokemon didn't need to be confined for so long.
Once they got closer, Korra spotted a familiar face up ahead and began waving with her free hand.
"Hey! Duncan!" Then she remembered, "Oh, right. Ty Lee said she'll catch up with us soon. One of her Pokemon hatched recently. How's it going?"

"Sooo...she said we were meeting at the pokémon center, right? Or was it the pokémart...Or..." she wondered aloud, possibly asking her pokémon companions. "Hmnn... What was it called?"
Fen the Cleffa titled a little. "Fa?"
"Oh, right..." she giggled a little.
Well, for now she'd just wander around. It's not like Korra was too hard to spot, either, even though Ty Lee left her Kyoshi Warrior gear for the more flowy clothes she got as a gift.

"Didn't figure you'd be bringin' a parade with ya." Duncan made a point to nod his head at the trail of pokémon that had been following Korra, most of which he was totally unfamiliar with. Especially the one on her shoulder that basically looked like one giant mouth with arms and legs added to it. Fang noticed too, and although the Mightyena had was busy puffing out his chest and showing off his fangs, he was still behaving for the time being.
"She with you too?" he asked as he sat back up on the bench to stretch, and although he didn't point out Ty Lee, he did figure Korra would figure it out on her own. Considering she was one of the only ones who seemed to be wandering around aimlessly, it probably wouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Then the Avatar placed her free hand beside her mouth and turned back to one of her traveling companions, "Ty Lee! Over here!"
As if to help her trainer's call, Agni the Torchic began hopping over to Ty Lee and chirping for the other girl to follow him. Hello!

"There you are!"
She turns on her heel smoothly and comes running towards them, her pokémon trailing behind her, and comes to a stop with a little flip.
"I thought you said you were going to be by the poké-something..."
Then she glances towards Duncan. "Who's this guy?"

Granted, he was already beginning to worry he might regret that offer. Two newbies to look after? He definitely hoped Korra learned quick, that way he could just rely on her to handle things with the other girl.
"Besides, not like I got anywhere to be. Me 'n Fang are happy just wanderin' around. Ain't that right, boy?" Duncan's Mightyena gave a loud, perhaps overzealous bark, mainly in an attempt to see if he could startle any of the other Pokémon present. He was trying his best to look fierce, after all, even if Duncan already picked up a couple new Pokémon that looked a little more intimidating. He'd just figured most of 'em were too big to have walking around in town all at once.
Late to the party, hope it's alright!
Since things had taken a few unexpected turns Katara found herself traveling on ahead for exactly that. So far she knew to expect Duncan and Korra, but Ty Lee would probably be a surprise, a pleasant one, to say the least.
She came flying in on a Pidgeot's back, just a bit away from the others. When she dismounted she was held up for a moment to contend with an overly affectionate bird Pokemon, but managed to get her back into her Pokeball and made her way over to the group.
Katara's expression, with hints at a bit of weariness, perked up in surprise when she got close enough to see who was present. "Ty Lee??"

"It's nice to meet you. I don't think we really have anywhere to go either... I mean, that's the point of an adventure, right? Travelling ar-..."
But the sound of the bird pokémon's landing still caught her attention; after all, she never saw a bird pokémon that large yet. That Pidgeot was quickly forgotten as Katara came closer and can more clearly into view--and even said he name! Ty Lee's face lit up instantly as she ran over to Katara and wrap her arms around the other girl tightly.
"Katara! I didn't know you were here, too!"

It took Korra a good amount of effort to not break the exchange between Katara and Ty Lee and hug the woman. To be honest, this whole meeting was putting quite a whirl on things. There were still two others of "newbie" travel group Duncan had to be introduced to, and Korra briefly looked around to see if any of them were actually around for her to call closer.

But it looked like his oh-so-enlightened discussion on the finer points of adventuring with the new girl would have to get postponed, due to whatever the heck that giant bird thing is. And while Duncan was certainly surprised, Fang was...suspicious, and definitely becoming a little overprotective...right up until he saw the girl who hopped off the bird Pokémon's back. At which point, the growling stopped, and Fang gave Katara a cheerful bark and trotted over to greet her. Granted, the last time she'd seen him, he was just a Poochyena trying rather hard to maul Duncan in New Bark, but he remembered her just the same.
Duncan of course, wasn't quite so cheerful with her, and was a little surprised at how Ty Lee was handling this. He'd been stuck here for how long without knowing anyone, and the new girl runs into a friend from back home already? How was that fair?! Heck, Duncan'd even be happy to see Heather at this point. But he'd keep that to himself, no point in giving the herd of newbies a reason to complain about him just yet. Besides, Katara was way too fun not to ignore. How else would he get to hassle her?
"Mornin' Jailbird. Didn't expect to see you here."
no subject
"I didn't either! It feels like it's been forever, I'm happy to see you, too! And you too, Korra!"
Katara wanted to hug her in greeting as well, but things were moving pretty fast. She'd just pulled back from Ty Lee when Fang came over to say hello as well. It would be a lie to say she wasn't surprised by how friendly he seemed towards her, but then again, maybe he just had good judge of character?
"Is that Bitey? I didn't know he'd already evolved, congratulations!"
Though that was more to the Pokemon, though reaching out to pet him was apparently a no go, judging by the response she got. Katara pulled back and straightened up, expression clearly saying "Ooookay then!".
And then she cast Duncan a dry look (She planned to move to Korra next).
"Good morning, Wild Child. Do you really have to call me that? It's not like I make a HABIT of getting arrested. And I didn't think I'd make it, but-- well, Robin... disappeared too, so I was able to get here faster than I expected."

Was Korra's response back to Katara's greeting. Wow, it really was... rather jarring, yet interesting, to see her old master so... young
and still shorter than her, huh. Her grin grew as she watched Katara interact with the other two humans present. However, one point of what Katara said interested the Avatar.
"Wait, someone you knew disappeared, Katara?" From the sound of things, whoever "Robin" was seemed to be a friend of her teacher's. "I'm sorry to hear that."
