Reading the backs of the small stack of movies Karkat brought back, Vanitas had to make a slight face at every single one of them. They were all romantic ones. None of them looked like they had any sort of action or crazy adventures in them. Frowning, but saying nothing (since last time he did, he got into a yelling match), Vanitas settles down with the bowl of popcorn and mentally steels himself for a nap with his eyes open.

"I think you watched this one already, with the Pikachu and Jigglypuff?"

He only knows because it's one of the ones Ventus recommended and paid for last time they had the chance to sit and watch movies. Next time? Vanitas is going to rent the movies, ughh..

"There are a lot of movies with a Pikachu and a Jigglypuff, dunkass. You're going to have to be more specific than that," Karkat snorted, snatching the case from Vanitas to pop into the DVD player.

Okay, so maybe Karkat HAD seen that one, but fuck if he wasn't in a mood to watch it again. Because it was beautiful. He would have to thank Ventus for recommending it at a later date. There was a little shame in that, knowing that some derp of a kid somehow rented these for him a while ago. It wasn't like he asked the other to.

Whatever. Karkat sat down next to Vanitas. Well within elbowing room. No way was the guy going to fall asleep on him this time.

Scowling a bit further at the elbow too close to his side, Vanitas sunk a bit in his seat and stuck his feet on the table before them, partially to block the bright, neon colors from blinding him once the movie began to start up.

"The one Ventus rented before we went to Blackthorn." Though he is definitely noticing that there are a lot of movies with Pikachu and Jigglypuffs, and regretful the moment he realizes he's noticing. It means he's somewhat watching these little.. ridiculous numbers.

Growling and rubbing his face with one hand, Vanitas shifts and tries to get comfortable so he can at least space out, since that elbow at his side isn't going to let him sleep.

Karkat wasn't going to have any of that. He slapped those feet off of the table with a growl. No dirtying other people's furniture, you douche. Or at least that was what the glare he gave Vanitas said. He rolled his eyes after, ruffling the other just a tad.

"So what if it is?"

"Why watch a movie you already saw?"

Narrowing his eyes back at the glare he received, Vanitas grumbled and crossed his arms, dragging his heels back and forth on the floor while popping a handful of popcorn into his mouth.

"Because I liked it? If you don't like my movies then get the fuck out or rent your own."

Not that Karkat really wanted Vanitas to go anywhere. In the end, Karkat sort of got tired of people constantly getting on his case or complaining abut his movie choices.

"Oh, I have your permission to leave now?"

Shoving that bowl into Karkat's lap, Vani starts getting up.

Karkat frowned. So maybe he was half tempted to chuck the bowl at Vanitas' head. For like three seconds, maybe. Instead he just grumbled. He folded further into the seat and hit play.

"It's not like your company is needed anyway..."

Standing, he just watched him for a moment quietly. After a good few minutes, Vanitas sat back down with a sigh, reaching to return that ruffle gesture.

"Don't lie. You're lonely if I'm not here."

"Like hell I'm lonely..." he grumbled as he made a bit more room for Vanitas. "I have lived alone for fucking sweeps. Just me and my Lusus, like any other troll."

[shadowdive]

Settling down and tugging back the bowl, Vanitas shakes his head and lightly thunks Karkat with his other arm; the one out of it's sling for the first time in months.

"And it's probably why you don't like being alone now. Again, don't lie. Besides, you weren't alone in that case, you had your Lusus."

"Ow!" Karkat's hands were immediately on his head, hissing at Vanitas. He would love to slap back, but that arm probably wouldn't appreciate it. Vani was probably glad to get it out of a sling anyway. Karkat sniffed, looking away and throwing a bit of the fluffy movie treat at the other's hair.

"If you can call a giant crab monster company... And fuck you. I'm not lying. You don't like it either so HA!"

"But I can admit it just fine."

Vanitas had to crack a half grin at the popcorn getting thrown, and flicks some right back at Karkat, far more amused at this little disagreement than the movie.

"The giant crab monster raised you, so I'll assume it's company you enjoyed."

Karkat huffed. Stupid Vanitas and stupid Karkat for opening his mouth. Of course he liked his Lusus. That wasn't even really up for debate. Karkat even missed his stupid Lusus with a burning passion. Any young troll his age would. Except maybe Vriska. It was hard to say on that.

So he wasn't about to answer. Karkat just reached over, grabbed a handful of popcorn, and shoved it in his mouth.

Just laughing a little, he settled down and propped one foot up, curling his toes almost in a daring motion.. but he's compromising. Staying, to watch this dumb movie because Karkat likes it.

But next time, Vanitas is renting as many action movies as he can afford.

"Silence is telling, you know."

"So does talking apparently," he growled, watching that foot. Dammit, Vanitas... Learn some manners!

[shadowdive]

"Yeah, there's no winning."

His grin grew wider at the growl, curling and uncurling his toes again.

"Shut up and watch the movie, fuckface..."

His attention returned to the screen... But not before grabbing Vani's ear and yanking it.

Wincing, Vanitas reaches and sharply returns the ear yank, lifting a leg to push and start hogging up all the space on the couch. No way, he's not shutting up to watch the movie..

Oh no. Oh hell no. Vanitas should know better by now than to mess with Karkat on a movie binge. He growled, yanking harder. Don't go taking up all his much needed space either!

Going to keep pushing and shoving to take up that space the longer his ear is yanked.

"Let go of my ear and I'll move."

Karkat elbowed Vanitas in the ribs, pausing the movie with his free hand.

"You know the proper way to get me to let go. Use it."

[shadowdive]

"Then you do the same or I'll keep taking up the space." The elbow only prompts one getting shoved back into Karkat's side.

"Fuck this..."

And thus this was no longer a little fight. Karkat was full on tackling Vanitas.

The outright tackle makes him roll to drop them to the floor; there's no room on the couch for that nonsense. Laughing a bit though, this is far more fun than watching the movies.

There was only one thing left to do. Karkat sat on Vanitas and prepared his deadly assault. His fingers curled at those sides...

And the tickle onslaught began.
