Outbreak: The Explosions

Summary: The Pokémon Centers have been destroyed, and there's panic in the streets!

For the three cities in question, the picture painted is around the same. The Centers have been destroyed, completely and utterly demolished by... Well. They aren't sure. The smoke still lingers in the air, the building's rubble still hot and smoldering from the destruction. Officer Jennys have roped the place off, some of them investigating the crime scene, some asking eyewitness accounts. They're still not sure what happened, and they can't give answers to anyone who asked; all they're saying, all they're able to say, is that everything is currently being investigated and they will report the moment they can. Only a very few are being allowed into the debris; it's dangerous, but with enough coaxing and a good enough reason, they'll let someone look through it for a short amount of time. However, there aren't any answers that can be found to explain this.

The current News reporters are all over this. People and pokémon with cameras are asking anyone if they know what happened or had seen anything, trying to alert the public in both the Kanto and Johto regions that everything is okay and to come forth with information once they hear anything. They just try to keep from creating public panic, so they do their best as reporters to cover the story. It's not much, but it helps.

For the patients who were already in the centers, and for those who were injured further, they're currently being bussed or flown to neighboring city Centers for better treatment. For the Nurses who can still work and the ones who have come in, the three cities are now stationing tents for help. They can't heal pokémon--the machines were broken--but they've got blankets and bandages and a few potions to help out. The Inns are housing many of them for free for that night, and the next few nights to come until they can get some things worked out. The nurses are looking for volunteers, anyone on-hand and willing to help out with the people currently nursing any injuries.

But everything is looking somewhat grim. Until the police are able to catch who did it, the most they can do is investigate. Judging by the damages, they're not going to have the pokéCenters in these city for another month or two at least. They're back to square one.

Citizens... please, don't panic.


[The NPCs and normal citizens won't be able to give you any details on what happened. The effects are spreading across the regions now; strange symptoms are beginning to surface. This outbreak starts now.]

_{[Stitch... isn't sure what answer he expected to that, really, but he grits his teeth and growls, clearly angered. He leans a slight bit forward before he shoots out at an inhuman speed. His entire silhouette is blurred as he races towards Hitsugaya, almost pulling of an honest-to-god flashstep. Within a second he is right by Hitsugaya, large claws coming down to strike at him fast.]}

[Fast. Inhumanly fast. It's been a long time since Hitsugaya saw something move like that, and there's no way he can keep up now. There's no chance of scrambling to the side to avoid those claws, even though he gives it his best effort and tumbles away with one arm over his head. Stitch is no doubt going to hit that arm, but at least his head won't be separated from his neck. Small victories, or something.]

<sub>[It doesn't hurt as much as it could. When Stitch claws rake down Hitsugaya's shoulder and arm, it tears up a nasty looking, bit fairly shallow wound. And it probably doesn't hurt as much as you'd expect to, but one should never underestimate the power of a Quick Attack.]

[When Stitch is steady and still on the ground again, he pulls his hand back. It's a slow move, at this moment too slow to for a punch, and should be easy enough to avoid, assuming you get out of range.]</sub>

[One should never underestimate the power of anything with claws, even if all they did was a Quick Attack. Cause that attack still tore his shoulder and arm more than a bit, and wounds are wounds. Even if they aren't in any way life-threatening.

And he's definitely getting out of range this time. It's more of an uncooridinated scramble towards a tree and up it than anything, but there's no way Hitsugaya's staying in range to take another hit. Nope. Sorry, Stitch; you're going to have to knock down that tree if you want him again. He's kind of hoping you can't do that because a fall from this height wouldn't help matters either.]

<sub>[Stitch is already starting that Crush Claw and it's too late to stop it even when Hitsugaya is out of the way. His claws are enveloped in a purple glow as he strikes down with great force, making deep holes and cracks in the ground on impact.]

[It actually takes a moment for Stitch to tear his claws free, the short display being quite comical the few times he fails. But when he finally gets free, he wastes no time. He sprints towards the tree, arms held back, and ears and head lowered.]

[He slams into the tree headfirst, and while it's not as powerful as a true Pokémon Headbutt, it's enough to at least shake the tree.]</sub>

[Comical? Perhaps on a better day. Today, however, is not that day and Hitsugaya's taking advantage of this moment to get himself in a position to stay in the tree, just as Stitch charges.

Is the impact powerful enough to shake the tree? Oh yes it is. Powerful enough to knock Hitsugaya from his perch? Maybe, but not on Stitch's first try, anyway. Hitsugaya's managed to get a pretty good grip, so either Stitch keeps trying and possibly gives himself a concussion in the process, or he climbs the tree and does this the hard way.

But is it really worth all that trouble?]

<sub>[He rams headfirst into the tree one more time and then he stumbles back, his hands coming up to hold his head. Stitch ain't no Pokémon, so he's not even nearly as restistant to disorientation and headaches as the real deal.]

[He steps back to regain his footing, trying to blink and groan the dizziness away, but it doesn't quite work. That concussion you mentioned might have something to do with it.]</sub>

Coward...

[Coward? Perhaps he is, in a way. But he knows when he has an advantage, which is why Hitsugaya's staying right up there in his branch and just glaring down at Stitch. Give up and go away already, dammit. His head's swimming, too.]

<sub>[Stitch has lost his patience with this one. Being half-a-Pokémon, merely fighting trainers ain't his thing, and fighting cowards is really no fun at all.]

[As a last assault, he tears a loose piece of concrete off of the ground, the hurls it in Hitsugaya's general direction.]</sub>

[The good news? Stitch's aim is actually pretty darn good. The bad news? Hitsugaya knows how to duck. That concrete's taking off a pretty good sized chunk of tree bark, but not much else.

Definitely not worth the trouble. Sorry, Stitch. Maybe next time.]
