Together Again
Who: Madoka Kaname & Homura Akemi
Where: New Bark Town
When: ... a week ago
Summary: After arriving as newbie trainers, Homura and Madoka reunite and are best friends and stuff.
Rating: G.
Log:
When Homura had pulled together her resolve to start a new life as a happy girl, she had done so with different expectations. She didn't think this decision would bring her to a new small town with a new mother and entirely new surroundings, really. She had anticipated a life in Madoka's new world, protecting it for her best friend's sake.
But this was not Madoka's new world. It was an entirely different level of "new", actually.
It hadn't yet crossed Homura's mind that she could use the device in her hand to make a public video call. It would probably take a minute or so longer, actually, to even consider asking for help, as she was busy dumping the contents of her backpack on the ground and looking them over. Her Shuppet was "helping" (re: tossing items around in every direction it pleased), despite Homura's attempts to shoo the thing away, and adding to her overall level of distraction. Though a bud of panic had sown in her heart, Homura kept a straight face-- actually, it was closer to a frown-- with her back turned to the other newbie trainers. She was focused, searching the bag frantically for the soul gem she was never going to find.

"Um, hello! Do you need help finding something, Miss...?

Her hand drifted away from Shuppet, who would then go about flinging items around helpfully again, and slowly turned her head to look over her shoulder.
"Mado..." It was unbelievable. For a moment, the word 'cruel' crossed Homura's mind. Then 'hallucination'. Hadn't she just found her resolve to live without Madoka by her side? So now for this to happen...
As much as Homura wanted to get to her feet, her legs had decided now was the time to stop working. "Madoka?"

"Um...I'm sorry, have we--?"
Madoka took a few steps forward to the front of the girl, her words abruptly stopping when the saw the face.
"Homura...chan?"
no subject
"Madoka!"
Homura repeated the name, finally able to stand. But she did not move beyond the initial act of standing.
"Madoka... what are you doing here?"
no subject
"I-I'm here just like anyone else. Um...what happened...to your glasses? Did they break here?"
no subject
She knew an earlier Homura.
She wondered, if only briefly, if this was the Madoka she'd made that promise with...
"Mm-nn. I'm seeing fine. My eyes seem fixed." She hoped Madoka would chop that up to the other mysteries of this place. "So don't worry... um, that is?"
Homura eyed Skitty, just as her own Pokemon floated into her arms and tried to mimic Skitty's comforting look.

"It's...good to see you. As nice as this place is, I think I would have been upset if I was alone."
no subject
"That woman claimed to be my mother... I've been told I'm going on an adventure. You, Madoka...san?"
no subject
She laughed a little bit at the thought.

"I found...this strange thing, earlier. I'm not really sure on how to use it." And out she pulls a PokeDex.

Shuppet nudged the device, wanting to get it to work but alas... he was lacking the thumbs to do so.
"It appears to be a small... computer? Perhaps a form of cellphone..?"
no subject
"Maybe? Can you try calling my cellphone? I think it's somewhere in my bag, but it wasn't working last time I tried."
