Who: Dist (
ortion) and Geddoe (
lightningbearer)
Where: Goldenrod City
When: October 2, evening
Summary: Dist and Geddoe bump into each other on the streets of Goldenrod and Geddoe ends up with another Pokemon-catching job.
Rating: G
Log:
It was another weekday evening. Unlike most evenings, Dist actually stopped working earlier than usual so he was out of the base, taking in the evening air on the streets. The restaurants were likely to actually be open at this time. Which one should he stop at to have some dinner? He pondered this as he made his way further downtown. Ah well, the night was still young. He had plenty of time to decide.
Little did he know he was in for an unexpected detour.
When he turned the corner of a nondescript street, he came across a familiar face down the street. The man wouldn't be so noticeable if it wasn't for the eyepatch. There was certainly no mistaking that particular feature either. Still, rather than approaching him right away, he decided to see if the man would recognize him too.

Tonight, unsurprisingly, was no exception. Only Queen accompanied him at the moment, his other pokemon being either too tired or too ornery to be out just now, and it was her soft bark- not a warning, just notice- that first alerted him to the presence of someone the manectric found of note. Geddoe paused and glanced over, his one eye quickly spotting the distinctive face of the man who'd hired him to catch a beldum a few months prior and who now appeared to be observing him.
Even so, Geddoe might have just continued on his way, but if the man- Dist, was his name- really had been watching him, he might as well find out why.
"...Looking for something?"

"I was looking for somewhere to eat, but I came across something else." He responded, making his way closer to Geddoe now that he had been noticed. "You finally made it to Goldenrod City, I see. How is the city treating you?"
whoops got sidetracked by new pokemon games IRONY
Which had really been Geddoe's sole complaint about the otherwise relatively pleasant, if quaint, little town.
No prob, I've been sucked into them myself lol.
"Yes, Goldenrod seems to be an upgrade in about every aspect compared to the beginning locations." Not that he would know because he started out in Goldenrod, but he's going off of what he's seen on the network.
Pokestar studios is the most addicting thing ever, man XD
In any case, he merely shrugged at Dist's assertment about the city's superiority.
"How is that one I caught for you?" He was idly curious after all; more about how Dist had dealt with the beldum's seemingly narcissistic personality than anything.
Haha! I should go back and do more with that...
He reached under his coat to pull the Metang's Pokeball off of his belt and released the Pokemon out of its ball. The Metang immediately regarded Geddoe with a small bow. It still recognized its original trainer and looked quite happy to see him again.
"It was a little finicky at first, but it didn't take long for it to warm up to me." Dist explained, putting a hand on the Metang's head. "You see, I appreciate aesthetics as much as it does."
Seriously these games are full of amazing, I am duly impressed
"...I see."
Saaame.
"Anyway, since I've somehow managed to stumble upon you again, I have another request for you if you're still taking them."
Right to the point, as always. Dist had a few Pokemon on his mind that he desired, and he had been considering calling Geddoe up again. It was a pleasant surprise and nice coincidence that Geddoe happened to be in the area.
...and I apparently managed to log over 50+ hours in one week after getting the game, yay?
That question- if it could even be called such- did spark some mild interest. Much as he was disinclined to care all that much, let alone show it, Geddoe was finding it hard to find decent-paying work that he actually felt inclined to do.
"What do you have in mind?"
That's impressive! I'm just now getting to 50 hours.
With that, he procured his PokeGear to show Geddoe a picture of the most recent Pokemon he had set his sights on. After a few button presses, he turned the 'Gear in Geddoe's direction. A photo of what looked to be...well, a big blob with a face was displayed on the screen. Dist looked far too excited over such a thing.
"It is called Ditto. It may not look like much, but apparently it has the ability to completely transform itself into any Pokemon."
I was apparently very eager to complete the main storyline. XD
"I've heard of it," was all he said though. "Just that one?"
Can't blame you there. It was really interesting.
Because Dist would probably have more jobs depending on how Geddoe answered. Although, he was beginning to wonder if he should start some traveling himself...
It totally was. First pokemon games ever that the PLOT was the big selling point.
"Sometime. It's a little crowded here."
That, and it seemed that challenging the gym leaders really was the only way to get a hold of the means to more easily travel the region, anyway.
That's true, considering this is also the first proper sequel in the series.
Indeed! Game Freak really outdid themselves this time.
Which was to say, he'd probably stick around if there were a job worth doing, but otherwise...

"Very well, then just focus on the Ditto for now. If I can think of anything else in the area, I will inform you through the network."

"All right."
