It's just dinner... right?
Who: Cliffjumper (
getthehorns) and Rikku (
machinamonkey)
Where: Olivine City, starting at Rikku's place and then out and about.
When: October 15th, evening.
Summary: Rikku and Cliff go on a daaaaaaate.
Rating: G, for copious amounts of cuteness.
Log:
[ He could do this. He could do this. It wasn't like he hadn't been on dates before.
Granted, he hadn't been on one in the last... couple... hundred years, but that was no reason to be nervous!
And yet he was still nervous. Probably moreso because the giant stick that was "hey, I have feelings for Rikku" had finally hit him scarcely twenty-four hours ago, and the last time he'd had such a revelation, he'd up and died before acting on it. This was a bit of a touchy situation.
Moreover, he had no idea what humans did for dates. Dinner, small talk. It sounded about the same. But what should he wear? Should he give her something? The only person he really had to ask was Ironhide, and that idea was instantly out. The old man didn't even like their pokémon getting friendly.
So, in a last-ditch effort, he'd headed to the local clothing store and begged advice from one of the girls working there. Well, not begged exactly, but it might have come close a couple of times. And while she'd squealed and fawned and managed to further embarrass him, Cliffjumper had to admit that she did a nice job. Dark jeans, red button-up shirt (because red would always be his color, no matter what), and a nice suit jacket over that. He did look pretty dashing. For a human. At lest he hoped so.
After adjusting his jacket for probably the fiftieth time, he finally mustered up the nerve to call down the hall towards Rikku's room. ]
Rikku? You ready to go?
[ All Spark, he hopes he doesn't sound as nervous as he feels. ]

...that didn't make her feel as relieved as she'd thought, actually. She misses her family. Not the time, though.
One last look in the mirror, and she bounces down to Cliff's room. She, at least, had stuff in her closet appropriate for a date before this. A nice blue dress, cute hair, cute (and really comfy) shoes, and hopefully she's good]
As I'll ever be!
[...whoa, Cliff looks good]

Okay, so Cliff has never really been in touch with what humans are supposed to find attractive in other humans, but he's actually taken aback by how... pretty she is. Something about her just shines. ]
You look great. [ Eloquent, Cliffjumper. ]

Thanks. [She blushes, playing with her skirt just a little] You do, too. I've got Ren and Maqui on babysitting duty, so hopefully there won't be too much damage to the house when we get back. Ready?

Ready as I'll ever be.
[ He saw this in some movie Bumblebee was watching once, and it seemed to work then so... he offers her his arm, maybe? ]

She's suddenly hit by how much shorter than Cliffjumper she is]
...How tall did you say you were again? Seven feet?

[Soon, they're outside. It's a nice night, thankfully]
I like taller guys, anyway. Granted, you have to be super short to be shorter than me, but.
[She laughs]

You'd have a hard time findin' a short Cybertronian, I'm pretty sure.

[She smiles a little]
Though I'd probably wanna take a wrench and start poking around after I got over the scare.

[ an amused snort ] Just make sure you ask first. I don't know many mechs who'd let people just start pokin' around.
