We'll speak of legends and magic...
Who: A bunch of mages and a king
Where: Some pleasant cafe or such in Vermillion City
When: November 22ish
Summary: Sion's been meaning to meet with some people face to face, and all of them being in the same place gives the perfect time to do it.
Rating: PG

As soon as Sion had realized that one of the more interesting persons he'd been meaning to speak with had also come to Vermillion for the tournament, he wasted no time arranging a meeting. It took a little time to find a suitable place, especially with the port city stuffed to the gills with people come to see or participate in the tournament, but eventually he was able to secure a reservation for a more or less private table in one of the more pleasant places in town. Then, it was just a matter of inviting his guests.
Fortunately, Kayneth hadn't yet left the city, and so it was a relatively simple matter to happen to coincidentally run into him and invite him to join Sion for dinner. After all, Sion was terribly sorry he'd left Azalea Town sooner than he'd originally planned (tactfully making no mention of how Kayneth seemed to be taking his sweet time to get there from Violet), but as good fortune would have it, both were now here in Vermillion, so why let an opportunity go to waste? Oh, and most certainly he should bring his friend, as well, Sion quite enjoyed meeting more interesting people, after all. And so on and so forth.
His invitation delivered then, now it was only a matter of sitting and waiting at the appointed time and place for his guests to join him. Well, Ryner was already there, of course, but that didn't count.

As was his general practice, he arrived several minutes before the appointed meeting time just in case the other party wasn't there yet, because mage society tends to produce equal parts genuine dangers to humanity and people who engage in a lot of petty one-upmanship.
Of course, given that Sion was already there it had all proven a bit pointless, but he was a creature of habit. It didn't take him long to pinpoint Sion; his features were a bit striking, after all.

"Well, it's certainly a pleasure to finally get the chance to meet you in person," he said, then gestured to the dark-haired man already at the table. "This is my friend and travel companion, Ryner. Please, sit down, we haven't ordered yet."

It wasn't as though he wasn't interested at all in this meeting, of course. Sion had spoken highly of Kayneth, and so if Sion thought he was interesting, he probably was. But lazy is as lazy does, and Sion was really the one who was good at this anyway.
