Summary: Ren returns to the HQ earlier than expected because of someone he hasn't seen in a long time and who shouldn't be in said place in the first place.

[It was funny how plans changed. Ren was supposed to be in Ecruteak, challenging the Gym Leader for his second badge, but instead he came back to Goldenrod. Honestly, he had never though he'd rush back to the Rocket base of all places, but here he was, walking through the corridors, searching for the right room.

Ren wished he hadn't needed to return there because of the reason he had. Someone from his world had been assigned as a Rocket member. Truth to be told, he probably wouldn't have rushed back if it had been any of the others, but since it was Haruka he didn't even consider other options.

Getting there had been eventful. He's not completely sure what happened during the weekend, but he has some vague memories of something odd happening. A few he didn't want to think about, at least right now when he had other things to worry about. Somehow he had managed to travel all the way to Goldenrod during the time so he didn't mind. It made it easier for him, after all.

Once he found the right room he knocked the door and waited.]

[Haruka was trying to study the map of this dang place. It actually wasn't very hard to figure out and she'd already had to look at it quite a bit during that week of 'training'.

Sighing, Haruka let her gaze travel over to the uniform she was assigned. She didn't like it very much, it was bit too gloomy. But well...what can you do? She only hoped she'd get out of this thing before she ever had to wear it.

The knocking surprised her and then worried her. What if it was more of those Team Rocket people? Aaah, they're so scary. She opened the door just a crack.]

Hello?

[Oh! And she opens the door all the way.]

Jinguji-san!!

[Ren smiled at Haruka. At least she was being careful, which was a good thing in a place like this.]

Good afternoon, lady. May I come in?

[She smiles and nods, moving to the side to let him in.]

Of course! Thank you so much for coming over!

Thank you. [He'll walk straight in, then.] And it's no problem at all.

[He looks around a little. It looks just like his room did when he arrived. Rather boring, but hey, it's free. One of the only good things about being a Rocket.

He turns to look at Haruka again.]

[She closes the door, sighing a bit out of relief.]

Oh! I'm fine...um...better! After the first few days following the training, I was so disoriented but I've managed to learn a lot!

That's good to hear. Being disoriented in a completely different world is normal though, so you shouldn't worry about it you still feel like you are.

[It took him time to get used it as well.]

Is there anything you'd like to ask?

Um...[he answered most of her questions. Oh but...!!]

There was...there was this time over the weekend. And I can't remember it very well so when I woke up and I couldn't everything that happened very well....

Does that happen often?

[Ah, the mysterious weekend. Ren shakes his head.]

It's the first time something like that has happened while I've been here, so I don't think it happens too often.

Though this world does likes to throw different kinds of events at us. There was a huge swarm of Ghost-type Pokémon on Halloween, for example.

O-oh. [Well that's a relief.]

Um...do we...do we get a lot of missions? [Because she doesn't think she can hurt anyone...]

I've only been on one mission the whole time I've been here. Though it was more like a part-time job. I guess it depends on how actively you seek for them. [Speaking of which, he should probably sign up for it again.] Of course the permanent mission is to acquire Pokémon.

Ah. But well, I guess I won't try so hard. I don't want to do anything...too bad. I know we have to do a mission every once in a while but... [She sighs a bit and looks down, leaning against her door.]

I think I'd like to just...play around. You know, with pokémon.

[Ren falls silent for a moment. That would be the best thing for Haruka to do. Just play with Pokémon, not caring about anything. Battling sometimes during your journeys wasn't that bad, after all.

Finally, he looks at Haruka. His expression is quite serious.]

That's why I said that we need to find a way to get you out of this place. It's not fitting for a lady like you.

[She nods]

But...how do we do that? They don't seem like the kind to let me go just because I asked...

There are ways. I know some who have left Team Rocket, so it's not impossible to leave.

[Well, he helped one of them who's not here anymore. He could have also left himself, but he's still there.]

We just don't ask for a permission. No matter how wrong that sounds, it's the only way.

[Haruka looks very nervous but then she straightens up and nods.]

Do not worry. I will make sure everything goes well and that the time is right. Meanwhile you should stay on their good side and do everything as told... or at least try. I'll help you on that as well if I can.

[She nods again]

I'll do whatever it takes! And I'll help in whatever way I can! [And then she gets not so serious and smiles a bit.]

[Ren's slightly glad he's in Team Rocket. If he hadn't been, and Haruka would have arrived there, he wouldn't be able to help her at all. He probably wouldn't have met Utau either, but that's another story.]

Have you eaten anything today? I know Goldenrod pretty well, so I could show you the best place to eat.

Sure, let's go somewhere then. I'm still not very familiar with the city. It's far too big. [And with her issues in being in big cities with big crowds....]

[At least he'll have Ren with her. He's used to cities like this.]

There are some smaller towns in Johto that you'd probably like better... but there are some quieter places in Goldenrod as well. There have bee times when I've needed some time to be in peace, so I know.

[The psychic power + headache fiasco was one of them.] There's also the National Park that I wish to show you at some point. It's rather beautiful.

A park! That sounds lovely, I haven't been there yet. [she smiles]

It has a lovely fountain. Also a lot of wild Pokémon, but as long as you don't walk into the tall grass.
