The Fire of Friendship Lives in Our Hearts
Who: Twilight Sparkle (
friendyousohard), Fluttershy (
3_butterflies), Rainbow Dash (
bestofthebest), and Imogen (
for_realsies)
Where: Violet City Pokecenter
When:Christmas Hearth's Warming Eve
Summary: Pony holiday celebrations. Be warned, ye who enter here. There will be cuteness.
Rating: G.
Log:
Everything is set up. The room is decorated to look as festive and shiny as anypony could possibly want. Not that it's surprising, really. Just about everywhere was already decorated, and the differences between Hearth's Warming Eve decorations and Christmas ones was barely even noticeable. Which is pretty surprising if you think about it.
Twilight's mind is elsewhere, however, as she sets the last of the presents into the pile, humming a carol to herself. It's just about time to start the celebration, and if things are going to be a little more low-key this year than most, well... having only three ponies and one human to celebrate the holiday is going to put a bit of a damper on things.
Still, she hopes everyone enjoys themselves. It might be small, but she's certain the celebration can be just as meaningful.

supposedlywiping a tear away; she wasn't crying! She'd just gotten something in her eye."S-so, any other Pokemon that evolve by happiness, or is Celest the only one-WHOA!"
Remember the Christmas egg Twilight gave Rainbow nearly an hour ago? It started to flash and glow...and yes it was in Dash's lap.

Imogen didn't seem too worried. Very few eggs hatched into something so big, but it was worth bringing up. And just like that, Imogen's mind was on a different topic, "Wait, there are Shiny stones now? Are there any other stones for use on the Pokemon over number 151?"

Settling down into her chair again as the Chikorita began to force its way out of her egg, she checked her own (it was being much slower to hatch than Dash's), then she folded her arms and thought about her answers to the questions Imogen and Rainbow had just fired off at her. "There are quite a few Pokemon that evolve by happiness. Sapphire, my Snorlax, evolved from Munchlax that way, and Echo will eventually evolve into Crobat that way too. Your Pichu will as well, Dash. And that's just the beginning. I can get you a list later if you're really interested. As for the stones... I have no idea what the significance of the number one hundred and fifty one is, but the stones consist of Fire, Water, Leaf, Thunder, Sun, Moon, Shiny, Dusk, and Dawn."

Chikorita fully emerged, staring up at Rainbow Dash and then at Fluttershy before nuzzling her new trainer. As for Rainbow? She laughed sheepishly while gently petting the Grass Pokemon, and pulled back a bit so she wouldn't butt heads with Fluttershy. She did hear Twilight's explanation about Pokemon who evolved due to happiness, though that in itself was overshadowed by Fluttershy's declaration.
Dash had yet another Pokemon which was labeled 'cute.'
"...Eheh, it's amazing!" Not 'cute,' but 'amazing.'
"Chika! Chika~!"

Imogen's attention quickly drifted to the new hatchling, which was far more important right now than any talk of evolution or mechanic. "Huh, pure Grass type? Very..." her mind drifted for the word that sounded best for the situation, not cute, not amazing. No those words were too common for this, "Elegant and Charming." The single leaf, the little nubs that might as well be a 1950s set of pearls. Elegant, that was the right word.
"I wonder what name it would like," Imogen shifted so she was leaning off the couch slightly for a better angle, laying down on her stomach kicking her foot in the air with just a bit more energy than she should have.

"So we have cute, elegant, charming and amazing. That's a pretty impressive combination." She reached out a hand to stroke Chikorita's leaf. It was surprisingly soft to the touch, though also resilient, and her fingers came away with a pleasant, spicy scent.
"Imogen raises a good point, though. What are you going to call it, Rainbow?" She supposed they'd probably have to figure out its gender before they got a real answer to that one, though.

"I got it!"
That's when it came to her.
"The best name ever for a Pokemon on Team Dash! Well, next to the others, but... I'm gonna call you Daring!"
"Chika, chikori~!" It was obvious from the very pleased tone in Chikorita's voice that Rainbow had made the right choice, not to mention the unexpected, sweet scent the newly named Daring released while continuing to enjoy the attention from Fluttershy and Twilight.
"So, what kind of attacks does Daring know?"
no subject
"Well, maybe not a they, but there isn't really a pronoun for this situation," Imogen offered, as if it was the most reasonable thing in the world. Knowing full well that it wasn't. One of the advantages of being her was that she was very used to everyone thinking she didn't make sense.
"Daring, are you a boy or a girl?" Imogen's mind quickly switched gears, and of course it seemed to be rude to ask the three ponies, when Daring was right there. Oh right, she doesn't speak Pokemon, and was unsure if the ponies could. "Walk in a quick circle for boy, and hop up and down for girl, if you wouldn't mind telling us?"

There was no doubt about it. In the right hands, breeding was an insanely powerful tool.
Hearing Imogen's question, Twilight chortled and butted in. "Or just tell Fluttershy."

Daring's curiosity was definitely piqued, as she sent out both vines to carefully touch and inspect Twilight and Imogen for a moment before pulling back. If Rainbow was her trainer, were Fluttershy and the others part of her team too?

And was saying a lot of stuff that made that sorta sense to Imogen that wasn't really any sense at all. She guessed it was an adventuring pony like Indiana Jones... but a pony. Because Harrison Ford is definitely not pony like in any way. But it was only a guess.
Of course, at the vines some black and white pokemon started growling a warning toward the newhatched mon.
"Oh hush Omen, she's curious. Not a threat," That Pokemon she had zero trouble understanding. He worried about everything. "Come say hello to Daring."
Omen, of course, huffed and curled up again.
"Daring seems curious about us, we're Rainbow Dashes friends," Imogen began turning her attention fully to the new Pokemon, gently shaking the vine. "Imogen Moreno, and these are Fluttershy, and Twilight Sparkle. It is nice to meet you."
