[It was pretty easy for Sora and Ven to get everything prepared, because they were hardly alone. Everyone who showed up early helped with decorations, and Hikari helped keep the zanier ideas in check - no longer would it rain glitter on Riku when he entered the room, she pared him that fate.

As the hour of the party drew close, Sora went to pick up Riku. The plan was to usher him to the building blindfolded and get him to the room they'd reserved. If Riku saw the outside, the surprise would be spoiled. And so, while waiting for the birthday boy to arrive, Ven flicked off the lights and prompted everybody to hide.

Any minute now, Sora'd be back with Riku...]

[A package wrapped in paopu-yellow paper looks like an awful lot of effort went into wrapping it...but both the paper and the overlarge bow are a bit askew for all the work involved.

Inside the box is a Charizard-patterned Wii with matching controllers and several games Sora and Ventus have caught Riku looking at or playing at the arcade. He'll be all decked out now - there's even a shiny Charizard carrying case]

[...Well, talk about impressive. When Riku gets to this gift, he can't help but smile. It's not just the ironic Charizard theme to everything, although that does get a snicker out of Flare. It's the fact that they went for something so extravagant. A video game console and the games couldn't have come cheap...

But all the same, he'll be lookin' out for his bros because the least he can do is thank 'em.]

[A small unmarked box with deep green paper is all Sasuke sets on the table, frowning at it (along with some of the bandages on his fingers). It was hard to make... But hopefully it's worth it, not because of what the gift is but what it means.

Still, he's glad satisfied that he had enough time to work on it and make it into a viable gift in time, since carving wood was surprisingly difficult. At least Goldenrod's department store let him buy the wood carving knife to begin with. So, once he put the gift down? He's walking away to go and try to avoid having to sing for Karaoke. That's one thing Sasuke did not sign up for.]

[Well, this is a surprise. Really, Riku hadn't expected a gift from Sasuke, but when he finds it, he smirks, giving the pendant a closer look.

The fact that the symbol no doubt holds meaning to Sasuke says a lot, and while he's not going to prod Sasuke into singing, he may have to pester him later to give him quiet thanks.]

[Sasuke hasn't moved far, still trying to keep his Riolu calm and relaxed in the new, louder atmosphere of the party. His eyes go to Riku when he sees him coming however, nodding to him before returning to just watching the karaoke going on.

Not that it's particularly enjoyable (most of the time), but it's something.]

[Hikari didn't get Riku anything super fancy or anything that wasn't practical. He seemed like a guy who'd prefer something that he could really use rather than something else.

So, her gift is a set of four evolution stones, containing a Thunder, Water, Leaf, and Fire stone.]

[And the stones are definitely appreciated! He'll be sure to keep 'em on hand on the off-chance he ends up raising another Pokémon that requires the stones to evolve.

[Tenten doesn't know Riku well at all, and her information-gathering attempts in the short span of time since she'd been picked up and dizzyingly flown from Cherrygrove all the way here hadn't given her a solid idea, either.

So instead, she improvises, finding some sturdy paper to make an origami crane with an arrow pointing to how he should unfold it to get what's inside -- a pair of blue hair ribbons. Useful!]

Still, at least they're not pink, and he's not about to act ungrateful towards a gift of any kind. So, once he uncovers the gift, he'll tuck the ribbons away and carefully try and get the crane back to its original shape...

Alas, origami is not his strong point.]

[It's in two bags, tied together. The big one has a thing of hair care supplies, all tropical scented because she's from Olivine and that's what she found a lot of.

The small one has an airhorn with a note: "to shut your team up!"

[Obito had, upon realizing that the end of their flight would be a party, gotten Riku the most awesome thing ever. A hat. Which was a little crumpled from being shoved in his bag, but a hat all the same!]

[Lightning herself isn't in attendance of this fine shindig, and therefore sent her gift on ahead with Ven before they parted ways. In the simply wrapped package is a three piece assortment of action/adventure movies (with Pokécasts, of course), and some simple black hair-ties. No, no ribbons from this lady.

Oh, and a note, in easy to read handwriting: "You did good back there. Happy birthday.

Lightning."

Unfortunately, she's not the best at this kind of thing. Whoops.]

[He'll have to remember to thank Lightning the next chance he gets. The gift combined with the message catches him slightly off guard, if only because... wow, praise from Lightning. Talk about a pleasant, if a bit unexpected surprise.

He'll be sure to watch all those movies when he gets the chance. Gotta put that gift to good use.]

*One package is in bright pink paper and has Foofyku written on it. In the girliest of script, I mean the y has a loop in the shape of a heart, and it looks like the two os have a cake over top of them.*

*It contains a pale yellow striped shirt, button up, it has a note next to it in the box. "I guessed on the size, I hope it fits! - Imogen." Nobody is surprised by who this is from.*

Still, smart choice in color. After looking the shirt over, Riku can't help but smirk.]

[Being on a low budget presented a pretty unique challenge. Being a simulation of the person Riku would be in another reality was cause for yet more. Still, he's made his endeavor.

In plain parcel paper, Riku will find, of all things, a journal. If Riku flips through it, he'll find the pages have been carefully categorized and labeled. When full, the thing could be an encyclopedia. For now, however, the content is limited.

The front has a listing of every species he could find through research, complete with illustrations. While hand-drawn, they look printed. There's also some notes in the back - the results of his research into what moves can be bred by what 'mons to get egg moves.

Additionally, a note.

I understand some results require a Breeder. If you're short one, I'll give you a hand.]

[...Well, he shouldn't have expected anything different from his data-double. All the same, he'll surely put the journal to good use later on; the notes on breeding particularly catch his eye, seeing how he's made a good chunk of his money this way.

[ Terra's present is a little more practical, wrapped in a box (thought the wrapping job isn't stellar, it looks somewhat decent). Inside is a pair of black hakama, with a note from Terra explaining the meaning folds. The note also details about how his Master gave them to him on his 18th birthday, so he thought he would pass down the tradition.

Terra's also a hidden sap, so he's put a note in about how proud he is to see Riku having grown up to be a strong, smart and kind man. Also, a little Happy Birthday and a thank you for all the help you've given him, little bro # 2! ]

Just reading the note brings a smile to Riku's face. Not just because of the significance here-- passing on a tradition from his own Master is a huge deal, after all-- but to have made Terra proud... The one guy he's looked up to ever since he was a kid. Yeah, that's a pretty huge accomplishment.

He'll have to put the hakama to good use later. How could he not after such a touching message? Plus, he could stand to shake up his daily wardrobe, anyway.
