backdated for a+ temper management
Who: Scanty & OPEN to Goldenrod Rockets!
Where: Team Rocket base, Goldenrod City
When: January 7, right after this thread with Chase
Summary: Scanty’s first encounter with a coworker has NOT GONE AS PLANNED. Neither does her next one.
Rating: PG-13 for profanity
Log:
Scanty didn’t let up steam even after turning a corner away from that ridiculous boy. If anything, her pace increased the closer she got to the training arena, teeth gnashing with every step. Head bowed and shoulders tense, her fists clenched and swinging at her sides, she muttered furiously under her breath.
“The nerve,” she seethed, in time to the sound of her own heels clicking against the floor. “How dare he......throwing my charity back in my face and just walking away, with no regard for the sanctity of personal space.....I’ll make him mop the floor I’ve walked on with his mousy little rat-tail, I’ll shove that smirk back into his mouth so hard he suffocates!”
To accent her point, she whipped a PokéBall out of her belt and hurled it down the hall; ricocheting off the floor, it burst open and released a Woobat - which continued along the Poké Ball’s original trajectory, bouncing off the walls and floor until finally careening directly towards a passer-by rounding the corner at exactly the wrong time.
Scanty lifted her own head just in time to witness the likely collision and croaked out a tiny, breathless squeak of disbelief. Oh. That was....less than ideal.
Well, whatever the outcome, she could always blame Chase.

"Aaaaah!"
Suddenly, parts and paper were sent flying all over the hallway as the man instinctively threw his arms up to react to whatever was in his face. The parts crashed to the ground, some breaking into several pieces. As things started to settle, a lone piece of paper floated down onto the head of the scientist who was now on the ground, trembling with rage as he aggressively gripped the Woobat that caused this disaster.
Oh dear, Scanty. What have you done?

....oh, dear.
"Ah, pardon me!" Scanty chirped, her own voice sounding tinny in her ears; she stepped gingerly around some of the mess. "Could you....return that, please....? The clasp on his capsule suddenly burst!
"You must be an intern, to be carrying all this yourself." Scanty glanced around and began gathering papers up. It stung her pride to assist with such lowly tasks, but she had to start somewhere on her own road to the top. Another mark against that execrable recruit who'd worked her up earlier into such a state! He would pay for the indignity she currently suffered. "Allow me to assist you, and we'll explain to your mentor...."

Gritting his teeth, he tossed the Woobat to the floor and ripped the paper from his head. His face was tinged with red from utter rage as he glared daggers at the newbie.
"Instead, why don't you explain to me why you thought it was a brilliant idea to throw Poke Balls in the halls of a busy building!" He snarled, yanking those papers away from her. "Because guess what? You are speaking to one of the top scientists in the base!" Okay, he may have been exaggerating a bit on the "top" part, but it's not like she would know. He motioned to the parts on the floor. "Your idiocy just set me back several days!!"

She wasn't doing herself any favors, she knew, but some stubborn part of her frankly didn't much care. This gentleman wasn't the only one in a bad mood here - couldn't he tell? How inconsiderate!
And he'd left her poor little Top Batter in such a state, too. The Woobat wobbled over, one wing slightly rumpled from his adventures bouncing off the walls; she gathered him up and petted him once before sticking him in the crook of one arm. They'd work on deportment later.
"I gather from your roughhandling you do not, in fact, require assistance. Is this correct?" she inquired. Manners were wasted on anyone who'd get worked up over such a small mishap, but it wouldn't be proper to make exceptions. Besides, the last thing Scanty needed was a superior - no matter how disorganized - spreading misconceptions about her around the base. This gentleman therefore had her fullest sympathies.
She supposed.
Sorry for the late reply!
Next came the parts, which he was the most reluctant to check up on. The crunching noises they made on impact did not sound good, and he wasn't sure he was ready to survey the damage. But he did anyway.
"Ohhh... Forget days, this is going to cost me a week of progress at least." He moaned as he woefully scooped up the broken parts. "No, I do believe you've done more than enough here." How melodramatic.
Not a problem! <3
Perish the thought: it had been his fault for not looking where he was going! The circumstance's fault, for requiring her to vent her already-mounted irritation on her Pokémon! Why, if they wanted to root back for the true source of the issue, they could even attempt to pinpoint exactly who'd summoned her here to begin with....unless, of course, it'd been the head of this organization, in which case the situation had simply developed in a manner that no one could predict.
Yes, this man had no right to label her as "bumbling"! Higher-ranking or not, though that did demand some level of decorum on her part....The more he examined the broken pieces on the ground, the bigger the lump grew in Scanty's throat. She swallowed it and attempted to slink against the wall.
"In that case, I'll be on my way," she replied in an attempt to excuse herself, petting her Woobat again with half a cursory bow. "Carrying less at a time might also prove helpful in the future...."
She offered advice with the best of intentions, of course! And with the clearest of consciences.
