[Eridan had arrived in Vermillion the night previous, yet tired from traveling he and Karkat ha arranged to meet up the following day instead. Waking early to prepare for his gym challenge, it was late morning by the time Eridan was ready for their meet up, shiny new badge in hand.

It had been a long time since he and Karkat had spent time together and to be quite honest,, he wasn't surprised. There were times when he knew he had been an ass, and others where there was simply no way he was spending time with that god-awful traveling group of his, but today was time to change all that.]

[ everyone that Karkat knows is an ass from time to time. Eridan. Gamzee. Vanitas. hell, even John can be an asshole from time to time. Karkat's life is practically encased in a never ending merry-go-round of assholes. he's just learning to deal with it. things could be worse, after all.

he's waiting at the agreed upon spot. Karkat is presently around 5'4" and thank god he and Kanaya went out the other day to get some clothes that actually fit. his Pichu in his lap as Karkat drains some coffee. he's probably going to need it. ]

[Eridan spots him and walks over, the scarf given to him by Karkat wrapped tightly around his neck and tucked under the collar of his winter coat.]

[He gives the Pichi a quick look over before taking a seat next to the other troll.]

[ he's NOT wearing a scarf. but also nothing other than his winter coat. mostly because it had been getting warmer... and now it's back to frost biting his ass.

[Eridan pulls something from his pocket- it's his latest badge.]

Got it this morning before comin' out here. I'm halfway through gettin' all the ones from here so I figured I'll just continue with that for a whole since I ain't got anythin' better to do.

[ Karkat leans over to inspect the badge. then snatches his case and display all of his. ]

You've got a long way to go if you're going to catch up. As far as our group goes, I think I am the only one that's this far along. When I'm not freezing my fucking human bulge off, I'm going to grab the rest.

Yeah but you've been here how long? a sweep or somethin'? I think seein' as I've only been here quarter or a sweep an' I have half this region's badges already that ain't so bad. Most my party's about to be max level too, I can do the rest fast.

[Eridan looks over Karkat's badges, it's impressive but to be expected.]

Aside from that though, what have you been doin'? It feels like it's been perigrees since we last spoke about somethin' properly, though I guess that was probably my fault huh..

Yeah. Little over a year, thanks. If I hadn't stuck around Goldenrod for as long as I did, clinging to the last lingering strands of faith I had in John's competence that we'd all start moving on... I would have had all of my badges in about half a year.

[ Karkat puts them away and stands. he's hungry and will offer to pay for Eridan's meal. ]

Honestly, I've been kind of lazy this last month. Too cold to move and too painful, really. So I've just been reading and training. Working.

Honestly I don't get why everyone's so pre-occupied in stayin' in one place. Especially with that human lusus that's back, I think it's boring stayin' anywhere more than a week.

[Karkat stands and Eridan follows suit, adjusting his coat and waiting for Karkat to lead the way, even though he isn't too sure where they are going yet.]

Yeah, well like I said I'm half way done here so I guess I'll travel to the next town after this. I heard there's another near the ocean? A bunch a islands nearby or some shit like that?

The Other Father creep? [ he shudders at that. ] That guy freaks me the fuck out. Won't even accept the fact that I don't want to be considered one of his "kids."

[ just gonna open a door to a restaurant. Karkat loves him some seafood, actually. ]

That would be Fuchsia. Just take the path out from Diglett's Cave and follow the bridges south, basically.
