Attack of the 'mons!

Who: Rampaging Pokémon and YOU!
Where: Goldenrod City, various locations.
When: Feb 14th, early morning to afternoon.
What: Brainwashed Pokémon and Bowser's minions attack!
Rating: Not sure, but there will be lots of violence. These Pokémon will go all out on humans. Injuries may occur.

[It's about 10 AM when it happens.

The ground within Goldenrod City rumbles. It starts out as a series of small vibrations before growing, escalating. Smoke, fire, and roars soon follow.

It's impossible to miss the Pokémon as they make their rampage. Two Ninetales dash through the streets, yowling, howling, growling away, spewing flames at anyone and anything that crosses their paths. Will-o-Wisps to induce burns, Confuse Ray, bites, scratches, bursts of flame. They're not alone, either. Those who manage to get a good look at them may notice their eyes look remarkably bloodshots, while their pupils appear as little slits.

A Venomoth takes to the air, sprinkling powder attacks and unleashing blasts of Psychic and Poison attacks. Perhaps even some Supersonic.

The earthquakes progress through the town, drawing closer to the Department Store. The cause? One cackling Torterra, stomping her feet and throwing around rocks, grass type moves, and all sorts of terrible tricks. She's joined by a drooling Swampert, who grumbles and snarls, and starts launching water, ground, and physical based attacks. He's the first to burst through the Department Store doors; the Ninetales soon follow suit.

But perhaps the most frightening of all is the Salamence swooping in, tongue dangling from his mouth, a giddy grin on his face. Those facing Rex may find themselves facing his terrifying fangs, claws, and massive weight; at 12', he's nearly three times the size of your average Salamence. With no sense of empathy, he sees everyone and everything as 'playmates'...

In other words, expect attempted mauling.

But who's the one orchestrating this mess? And will any brave heroes step forward to silence these beasts before the mayhem escalates?

Either way, you better hurry! The city won't save itself.]

[ooc: There will be no major property damage, but there will be damage nonetheless. Most replies will come from [personal profile] koopacrew; Bowser himself is largely keeping out of sight.

More details here.]

Empoleon! Fire another Ice Beam!

[Well, orders were orders, but if it was able to get close to him Empoleon was probably not in good shape.

Which was why Hikari was holding out her pokéball. She'd wait for the second Ice Beam to hit before calling back Empoleon.]

[NO ICE! To prove this point, he pulls back his head, unleashing a burst of flames straight into the Ice Beam.

The question is, does Empoleon escape? Even if he does, Rex ain't against "playing" with humans.]

[Well, Empoleon isn't against breaking off that attack and getting as far away from the flames as it can. It just barely manages to dodge them before Hikari recalls it to the pokéball. That was, well, way too close for Empoleon's comfort. Even if he was a Water type, being Steel as well negated it's strength against fire attacks. And whoever decided to unleash these things had obviously trained them well. It wasn't likely that any one of her pokémon could take them out alone.

But for right now, they needed to get to the Department Store area, to put a stop to those quakes. Hopefully once she released Empoleon again Charizard, Empoleon, and Togekiss would be able to take the Torterra out quickly. Before the Salamence could get too close to them. again.

But Hikari couldn't count on that, considering how easily it found them the first time. She needed to come up with a good plan, and fast.]

[Soooo, today is a bad day to visit the Department Store then? Maybe it's a good thing Winry gets out of there before the Pokémon rush in and after buying some TMs for her team. Yeah, that's the good news of the day.

She'd really have to thank Ren Jinguji later for telling her about Team Rocket being in Goldenrod. Otherwise she'd probably have some random Pokémon from her team with her... But with that information in her mind, she tends to keep her level 100s with her all the time while she's here. As soon as this someone's idea of a fun morning begins, the girl lets out a Blaziken and Altaria loading them with Flamethrower (Blaziken, Altaria), Ice Beam (Altaria) and her Audino insist to get her special gift, Thunderbolt. Well, electricity is always a good attack type in any team and Winry doesn't have Emolga with her, so why not?! Sure, her Audino can have it right now! She calls Arcanine and Glaceon out too, Argentum the Poochyena can still stay on her ball for now. She calls her Altaria back to her ball, it's too dangerous for her to just walk around or fly around, but she could be her ace later.

Honestly, Winry is not an action girl, but she can't just run away from this either. So she'll try to get to the Torterra whatever is causing these earthquakes by a ride on her Arcanine and her Audino is on the same ride with her. Not that Glaceon and Blaziken arenn't keeping watch for any other potential targets or threats too. ]

[Well, there happens to be a Swampert not too far from here, aiding in the Earthquakes! Oh, and he's having a jolly old time wailing at civilians with Hammer Arm and spewing Hydro Pumps in their faces.

The Torterra's not too far away, rattling the ground and launching explosive Seed Bombs every which way. If there was any time to act, girls, it'd be now!

But be warned: Rex isn't far behind. If Hikari tries to flee, he'll do his best to follow, not wanting to abandon his new playmates!]

[Well, Hikari definitely wasn't planning on running away. Not when she was finally getting so close to the source of those Earthquakes. She could see the Torterra now, and she immediately sent Empoleon out again to the roof of another building. That should protect it from the earthquake, and hopefully the Salamence would stay focused on her and Charizard, letting Empoleon and Togekiss take care of the grass/ground pokémon.]

Empoleon. Wait until I give the order, than use Ice Beam on the Torterra.

[Empoloen nodded. But then Hikari saw something, and if it wasn't for the fact that she didn't want to land and risk hurting Charizard, she would've swooped down immediately. Instead she moved to grab her gear, sending a voice message to who she saw down below.]

Winry! Are you alright?

[While she was doing that though, she was keeping an eye out for the flying dragon. Last thing that she needed was for it to sneak up on her while she was trying to talk and form a plan.]

[Do you feel that, Hikari? The wind increasing? Or maybe it's just your imagination...

The Torterra's movements seem to pick up, though, aided by the Tailwind Rex is whipping up. And with her new speed, she launches another Earthquake, followed by a Rockslide by some poor, unsuspecting group of children.

Rex circles around the overall area, sniffing at the air. He knows his playmates must be close! C'mon, playmaaaates. Don't run!

Really, it's best to cut the chat short. Every second wasted is another second gained by the baddies.]
usedwrench: (Hey you! Yes you right there!)

sob, sorry for being so late ;;; we had a week full of visitors ;;

[personal profile] usedwrench 2013-02-24 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[Winry looks at the Swampert. What is that Pokémon?! Knowing it's type would be a great advantage here, but it's clearly at least half water-type. She'd need to get her fire-types far away from it (and to the Torterra), yes, and hopefully she could distract it with her other Pokémon somehow.

She gets off of her Arcanine, wise or not.]

Flame! King! Go. If you get close enough, I want you two to use Flamethrowers.

[The Arcanine and Blaziken look a little hesitant to go, but they'll go anyway. Meanwhile she's keeping her eyes on the blue thing. So, a water-type, huh? Time to try some luck here.]

Didi, Thunderbolt!

[The Audino shoots its new electric attack, Glaceon is just looking at the situation right now, and Winry is hoping for the best - fearing for the worst.

...A message? Yeah, sorry, a girl who always talks about how people don't call her in any situation, can't miss a message right now. Really, she should have learned that talking in a situation like this is bad, but...]

Yeah, I'm fine! Where are you?

It's alright!

I'm above you flying on my Charizard. You need to be careful though, there's a Dragon type in the sky too.

[She looks around, trying to see if she can find it.]

I have my Empoleon ready to fire an Ice Beam at the Torterra from above, but the dragon's being a bit of a problem and keeping me from having my Charizard and Togekiss close in on the Torterra.

[Another pause as she frowns at seeing that rock slide.]

And that Torterra's attacking kids now! We need to stop it. Do you have anything that can slow down a Dragon Type? My Empoleon's Ice Beam isn't strong enough to work alone.
