and at last I see the light ♫♪
Who: Rikku and Cliffjumper
Where: Olivine!
When: Valentine's Day (backdated)
Summary: They have a date!
Rating: Knowing these two? PG-13 maybe. Seriously, they're too dorky for much else
Log:
Valentine's Day, as a whole, seemed pretty silly to Rikku. Why put all your love and stuff on one day?
Then she went to the store a few times and realized it was more a case of "people wanting to sell stuff" than "people are really that weird here". Oh, well. Chocolate was going on sale soon, apparently, so Rikku wasn't complaining!
Of course, part of her not-complaining might have come from the fact that she and Cliff were going on another date that night. They'd been a few since their first one, but nothing really as special or memorable as their first one. Rikku'd spent most of the days leading up to it trying to find a decent outfit that would work for the beach and had settled on jeans (the best piece of clothing ever, seriously, why was this not a Thing in Spira yet?) and a shirt the color of Cliffjumper when he was a robot with "My Boyfriend is Better than Yours" on it in what the clerk had called a "flirty" font.
For once, she was done getting ready before Cliff and was sitting on the floor of the living room, taunting everyone with her laser pointer while she waited.

[ A shrug ] Not that I'm gonna turn down cake, mind you.

[This girl is going to rot her teeth out]

[A pause as she realizes what she said. Uhm.]
Hypothetically, I mean. So not ready for marriage yet but, uh...shutting up now.

How does that even work? Marriage, I mean.

[And she proceeds go into great detail about it as they head for the restaurant. It's clear she loves weddings and marriage and all that]

[Rikku ducks in, gets the food, and ducks out. There's a lot of food]
How do Cybertronians do it?
no subject
What a Cybertronian is- what humans call heart, soul, all of that- is all in their spark. When you bond you open your spark up completely to each other and... become one, I guess. You share each others' thoughts, and emotions. You feel what they feel. There's no more "you". Just... "us".
It's not a ceremony with cake and dresses and a crowd of people. Just you and your partner, that's it.

That sounds way better than a wedding. More...special, y'know?
no subject
It sounds romantic, anyway.
no subject
It's definitely less stressful. My tw of best friends got married to each other, when I went back home but didn't leave, and I was sure Wakka was going to die from all the stress of his wedding!

I like the idea of it bein' private better, but maybe that's just me.
no subject
I'd wanna tell everyone, but I could see why people might like private better. Less annoying drunk party guests.

[ There's a little rise overlooking the water, that he may or may not have scouted out earlier. He spreads the blanket out and motions for her to sit. ]

[She flops down on the blanket, grinning]
Agh, I can't wait until summer when I can go swimming in that ocean.
no subject
I'll have to come back and visit over the summer.

[Ironhide won't want to stay once it gets warmer, and the bots have badges to collect. Rikku moves to lean against Cliff, a little sad now]
