We won't hesitate
Who: Norman and Ellis
Where: Along Route 29
When: Monday night
Summary: Shenanigans! And a little late night, pokemon hunting.
Rating: PG, any higher rating will attributed to Ellis' mouth
Log:
[Though he'd stayed in New Bark for a little longer than most, Norman was kind of anxiously ready to go. Really, the idea of starting out on his own had intimidated him a little. Sure, he was used to doing things on his own, but after everything was said and done back home, he knew that it was foolish and bull-headed to try. Besides, when it got down to it-
He really didn't want to be alone. There was a difference between stopping a curse threatening his town, and setting out into the wild unknown in a whole different reality. And if stopping that curse wasn't a testament to trusting others, he didn't know what was.
He was glad when Ellis insisted on them traveling together. They got along really well, and Ellis could appreciate a good zombie apocalypse. They'd decided on Monday to start out for Cherrygrove and Norman had worked at the Pokemart as much as the management let him so he could properly save up.
Night had fallen on their first day out- the map said something like the trip being another few days total. With a bit of trial and error, some nagging on Norman's part, and help from Suee, Ellis got a fire going.
Norman was messing around with his pokegear, no where near tired enough to call it a night.]
Oh, apparently this route has pokemon that only appear at night.

He was grateful, too, when he met Norman. After spending so long traveling with his group from back home, he didn't wanna be alone. The thought made him really sad, so when Norman had agreed, he couldn't be happier. Norman was such a rad little dude, and he really liked him. He made him wish he'd had a little brother. Better late than never though, right? Right. And bonding over zombies was awesome! Overall, it was looking to be a really great experience.
Traveling itself was something he'd gotten used to by now, so when nightfall came, he wasn't tired either. If anything, he was a little bored. It was... quiet. Too quiet. He was used to zombies all the time, but this? This was so tame. He was still jumpy though, because getting used to no zombies was hard. Every sound made him want to break into action.
Especially when he was bored like he was then. Thankfully Norman was there to alleviate that, and he spoke at just the right time. Ellis perked up, looking his direction and grinning.]
Oh really? Well that sounds like something we should look into, don't ya think?

[Norman held out his gear so Ellis could see the pokedex entry he had open. It was Hoothoot.]
Do you think we could catch one?
no subject
Yeah, those look cool! Owls are awesome. I've wanted an owl ever since I watched Harry Potter...

...Do you think the eggs will be okay if we just leave them here to go look?
no subject
[He looks thoughtful for a moment at that. He'd hate for something to come along and eat them... but they won't exactly all fit in his bag. Especially the one that's weirdly heavy.]
What if we spray some of our repel on 'em? Y'know, that smelly spray that keeps other Pokemon away!
no subject
[He starts to dig in his pack for the little bottle of repel he saw. If it worked on people, it should work on Pokemon right? Norman starts to spray it on and around his current egg. The Litwick SHOULD be hatching soon. When he was done he offered it to Ellis.]

[He takes the spray from Norman and goes over to his eggs- it's a pile that's considerably bigger than Norman's. He kind of blew a lot of money on eggs. He sprays it all over them and soon enough the spray runs out.]
Alright, we're good. Ready to go catch some owls? [He tosses the spray into their makeshift garbage can and then grabs his pack, slinging it over his shoulders.]
no subject
Ready!
[He nods and starts to walk quietly into the woods.]

[Ellis follows after him once he gets his bag on (he has to hide a laugh at watching Norman try and get it on) and he jogs to catch up to him.]
This is gonna be awesome. I can't wait to g-
[He stops, eyebrows raising as he reaches out a hand to block Norman from going further.]
Did you hear something?
no subject
[He blinks when Ellis blocks his way, looking up at him.]
Nnnno... I didn't. What did you hear?
[He kept his voice low, just in case.]
no subject
Aw hell... Be quiet. They said there was no zombies here, but I think...we're being... watched.
[His voice is low and steady, barely more than a whisper.]
no subject
[He nodded, and kept silent.]
[Wait- was that a noise?]
no subject
ZOMBIES! NORMAN, RUN!
[He's pushing at Norman to go, before he's running himself. He's forgot he has a Pokemon to defend himself with. All he knows is that he doesn't have a gun and he's gonna high tail it before he gets eaten.]
Run, run, run!
no subject
Zombies! How do you know?!
no subject
Because I know a zombie when I he-
[Suddenly there's a loud THUD and Ellis is cut off with an equal loud UMPH being grunted out.
Yeah.
He ran right the hell into a tree, and he's just going to stand there for a moment, and then fall backwards onto his ass slowly.]
Holy shit...
[His nose is on fire right now, not to mention his ass is too. Ow. Is he bleeding? He's kind of dazed right now and can't tell.]
no subject
Ellis!?
[Oh man, is he okay?!]
Ellis!
[Norman rushes over to his side. Oh man, his nose.]
[That probably ruffled whatever may have been hanging out in that tree.]
no subject
And Ellis lets out what can only be described as a scream, flailing as it falls on him. Blood is dripping down his nose and he looks pretty fucking terrified.]
Holy shit! Getitoff! GETITOFF!!
