Trucy wasn't one for abandoning her partners, usually. But finding out her adoptive daddy was here, and that he was several years younger than he should be for her... well, she needed to see this, and she wanted to see it alone.

So, she's ran past the last stretch of route twenty-nine, and catches her breath as she sees the sign for Cherrygrove. Now, to find a man in a cheap blue suit with spiky hair.

... Gosh, that outfit brought back memories. She sets off running again to find him, and screeches to a halt at the sight of that hair.

"... D-daddy?"

All things considered, Phoenix was feeling pretty nervous. Well, actually, "nervous" was a HUGE UNDERSTATEMENT if he really took the time to think about it, but speedy footsteps heading in his direction alerted him to the fact that he didn't really have the time to think at the moment. He felt his shoulders subconciously tense a bit as he turned in the direction of the sound, hands shoved in his pockets as, for the first time not over a video screen, he saw his daughter's face.

...Phoenix didn't think it was possible for the lead weight in his stomach to feel heavier, but, well, there it went. Exactly as Kay had described; a young brunette in a light blue magician's outfit, complete with a matching top hat. Blue eyes that he would have thought came from him, if he hadn't been informed beforehand that Trucy was adopted. An eager -- but nervous and fearful and everything Phoenix imagined he was feeling at the moment -- expression on her face as she tentatively called him "daddy."

This was his daughter.

"...Trucy?"

The ease of which Trucy introduced herself to him should have eased some of his nervousness -- instead, Phoenix just found himself being all the more awkward and uncertain, try as he might to put on a smile for his newfound daughter. "Er, Phoenix Wright...Ace Attorney." But you already know that, I guess.

He followed her quick glance at the ocean, and couldn't help but notice that look, the kind of...faraway glint that Maya sometimes got whenever she went off on some conversation tangent in the middle of a serious discussion, and that made him smile, just a bit. Phoenix had a feeling that, in whatever parallel future world or whatever that Trucy came from, she and Maya probably got along swimmingly.

And there he goes on his own mental tirade, just as bad as his assistent and, apparently, his daughter, and Phoenix snapped himself back to attention when Trucy started to speak again.

"I've been alright, I guess." He glanced away a bit and rubbed at the back of his neck, in that charactistic habit he could never manage to break. "As alright as one can be here, really." It then came to mind that Trucy must be as confused as he was when he first woke up here, and a hint of worry slipped into his tone as he added, "How about you, Trucy?"

"Mr. Hat Juni--OH. Right, your...partner." Phoenix started a bit when the Totodile was released, but recovered quickly enough and even fished around in his coat pocket for his own partner's capsule, and released the Wooper alongside his daughter's Pokémon.

He paused and thought for a moment at Trucy's question. Who WAS here, actually? "From California...well, let's see." Phoenix put on his thinking face and started counting off his fingers, a name at a time; "There's Edgeworth, Mr. Doe, Kay, Larry, Mia...I don't know about anyone else, but those are all the ones I know of." Phoenix shrugged and his hands returned to his pockets, a slight tilt to his head as he gave Trucy a curious expression. Part of him was wondering if Trucy would recognize any of those names -- being from the future and all, it would be curious to know how many of them he managed to keep in touch with. The other part of him, though, was too busy worrying itself sick over whether finding out that kind of thing would make the universe implode itself, or something drastic like that.

Cute wouldn't exactly be the word Phoenix would choose, but the little blue crocodile thing certainly seemed to suit her. Phoenix watched idly as Trucy aimed her Pokégear at Butch, who seemed fascinated by this newfound compantion and began wooping happily in rapid Pokétalk.

At her question, he racked his brains for a face to match the name...and rather vivid description. Apollo, Apollo..."Er, no. I haven't seen anyone like that." What kind of name is 'Apollo?' "Why, is he...a friend of yours?" Being the good, suddenly-thrust-into-parenthood father that he was, Phoenix couldn't hide the wary tone in his voice as he tried to think of a reason why his daughter would have male friends at her age. And ones that appeared to be a bit older than her, at that, if the girl's size estimate was anything to go by.

...of course, Phoenix couldn't really talk, considering his own teenage assistent, but he decided to keep mun about that for now.

Butch is equally enjoying a companion that isn't as stuck up as his Sentret comrade, and is also quite appreciated the shared type between them. Phoenix can't help but wonder if a friendship born through water is on the way.

...of course, that train of thought is derailed rather quickly once Trucy mentions the whole brother thing. "Wait, your BROTHER?" Will it ever end? "Did I--er, DO I adopt him, too?" Phoenix takes a moment to wonder what the hell is wrong with him in the future; he certainly never imagined himself as a father, never really WANTED to be a father, but apparently, his future self has other ideas. And...TWO kids? Seriously? He's having a hard enough time trying dealing with one.

Not only that, but this aforementioned brother is an ATTORNEY? Curiouser and curiouser. "An...attorney. Er, a defense attorney, I'm hoping?" Phoenix gives Trucy a somewhat wary look, trying to imagine an...antenna-haired boy wearing his trademark blue suit. Or... Oh God please don't tell me I father a prosecutor.

"Half-brother..." Phoenix echoed, furrowing his brow as he tried to piece together the image of this future family in his head. An adopted daughter with an older half-brother who was a defense attorney? This...well, to be honest, it wasn't making a lot of sense to poor Phoenix.

--not to mention this prince of a prosecutor, but in all honesty, the man isn't too keen on getting onto the subject of prosecutors at the moment.

"Er, Trucy, if you don't mind me asking..." He glances sideways at his daughter, the question he's been dying to ask at the very tip of his tongue, hesitant and coming with potentially hazardous consequences. "...do you have a mother?" Well, of COURSE she HAS a mother, but...she knows what I mean.
