Obito kind of pitied Sakura whenever she got here, if how excited Naruto was was any indicator. The guy was practically vibrating in place. Still, he was admittedly really relieved when he saw Tenten. With the whole vanishing thing Sasuke pulled he'd been kind of... worried.

I suppose I could tell you that injuries and casualties are a part of what it means to fight a war. That you will lose friends and family and will simply have to keep fighting, keeping your personal feelings on the matter tucked away until later.

...To be honest, I don't think my personal feelings can be so easily overlooked for shinobi rules and regulations when it comes to Naruto, either.

He might very well get hurt, that's a risk we all take when we decide to fight. But I have faith in him, that he's capable of accomplishing the things he's setting out to do, and that he'll win.

[Obito isn't even gonna TRY to gather his pokemon... and he has to untangle from a giant grass type snake anyway, he'll be a minute.]

I figured. I'll be right in and we can do this cooking thing!

Here... hang on. [Letting Gama-chan out of his ball he begins to hop around as usual- though once he spots the Poliwag he bounces straight on over. Maybe they can understand each other, who knows.]

Gama-chan used to be a cute little Poliwag just like that when I got him, y'know.

You don't just invite a girl to the bedroom at the beginning of the date. Sakura's look of dismay can't be ignored as she plants her face into her palm. ]

[He totally found something to keep him out of her hair, cleaning dishes and stuff when she first got back, but he finally gave her a little wave as he slipped into the open area that was being used by everyone in their group while they were here.]

They have two different final evolutions, right? I haven't given much thought to it, but I guess it's still a little early yet.

Fairly sure there are wild Poliwag around the city, I wonder if these two will end up luring them out.

[ Seeing him face-to-face is a different experience than over the PokeGear. At first she's reluctant to speak with him, but the apprehension fades quick enough. ]

It's a lot to take in, but we're raised to adjust within the circumstances so you don't have to worry about me.

Have to and want to are totally different things y'know? You're kinda family in roundabout fashion, right? You're my teammate's student, my sensei's kid's teammate, and my cousin's teammate. I mean, that's a lot of threads. Totally gives me an excuse to be concerned about you if I needed one. Also, you're really nice!

So, you know. I'm sorry about last time and kinda maybe wanna do a bit better with it from here on.

[ He's right. No matter how much it hurts to think about it, Obito Uchiha is intertwined with those she cares for most in this world and the one back home. Maybe, as selfish as it is, she can use her knowledge of him in this world to gain a better understanding of the situation.

Not that she'll remember it, but maybe here she can have those concerns of her's put to rest. ]

Yeah, I was just really overwhelmed that day. I didn't mean to be cold or get strange with you, really! [ Waving a hand as she speaks in order to draw up more personality. A distraction tactic if anything. ] I'm a lot tougher than I look.

Yeah! I had to buy some funny looking rock thing from the shop in Goldenrod and give it to him, that's when he changed into this one.

[Watching the two, it seems like they're getting on pretty well already, from what Naruto can tell.]

Really? I'll have to go catch some more then! That way Gama-chan can have some friends. This girl told me about other types of toad pokemon too that I need to find.

Isn't that expensive? [ Maybe she can use the Pokemon Sasuke loaned her to go earn some money. ]

I know that, but...

[ It wasn't fair. This war really wasn't something they were prepared for and to be drawn into it at their age is cruel. That's what she wants to say, to object to everything they've been taught, but what good would that do? ]

Naruto was really working hard. [ She murmurs that much softly as her gaze averts from his own. ] Really hard. I'm afraid he's over-expending himself and he's too dumb to admit that he is.

[ In an even quieter tone, she adds: ] I don't think he knows that.

Oh I don't doubt it. I mean, you're a Kunoichi. Kunoichi are always tougher and smarter than us male shinobi, cause, well, you guys gotta keep us lot all in line right? That's the reason I always hear anyway.

Planning on building up a team of toads?

[biffles! Or at least, Sensei was still young enough to be lured in as a follower. Don't encourage bad habits in him too, Naruto.]

Yeah! I was thinking of naming some of them after the toads in Mount Myoboku.

[Hey, after all those bad habits Jiraiya taught Naruto? It's only right he does the same. And aww, just look at how well they are getting along.]

We were talking about renting a house or something if we're planning to stay here for a few weeks.

[No it wasn't fair, the mess that he, and all that came before him, had left behind for their children to wade through. So much talk about peace, and none of them had found an answer.]

Well, it's a good thing he has you to remind him, isn't it?

[Minato hadn't been sure what to expect from his son's teammates, and Sakura's concern may not have surprised him exactly, but he was glad to hear it, just the same.

Mostly. Not really the fact that Naruto was possibly doing too much but.]

Sometimes we forget that it's not always better to do things on our own, we don't want to see our comrades be hurt so we charge ahead thinking that we're protecting them by not getting them involved.

But teamwork is one of the most important things to a shinobi. Remind him that he's not alone, that he should be relying on you as much as you rely on him.

[And then with a bit of amusement:] Even if you have to use a little force to get your point across.

[WOULD MINI EVEN KNOW ABOUT TOAD SAGES IDEK considering he's coming in again late game with all the powerhouses he'll probably pull sage mode out his ass or something]

It would be nice to have a few more around though, I think. We'll have to look into how to find them while we're here.
