He isn't even sure what he was expecting. He knows Rose's voice so well she can utter a random sound and he'd know it was her. So who was he expecting?]

I assumed that the parallel universe more or less followed the same chain of events only for some reason we are humans instead of trolls. Are you and the John human not in a kismesissitude?
