[It had been a long few days. That much Lightning was sure of. With all that had happened first over the weekend and then at the Inn, they needed to get their feet back under them.

That was the main reason she was out here, standing at the entrance to Cherrygrove and watching the road. The other reason, one she'd admit only to herself or her team when they were alone, was that she really just wanted to see Hope again. They sorely needed time as a family now. That much she was also sure of.

Considering that Vanille had also voted to wait instead of go on ahead, it seemed to Lightning that she wasn't alone in that mindset. Now they just had to wait. It wouldn't be long now.]

[Vanille herself, however? She was close-by. After her friend, Veh, had vanished... well, she just had to keep on going right now.

She was actually near to Lightning, though, her new, strange Kabuto clinging to her back for dear life. With a smile on her face, Vanille was peeking out to the road sometimes, but also just looking around everywhere.

The outside here was wonderful. She could see herself living... well, not in this town, but in this world. As she waited, she closed her eyes, listening to the sounds of the world around her.]

[They're on a horse, they're on a horse, they're on a horse motherf--

Considering what the boys are riding on? They're definitely kicking up a dust cloud, because Sleipnir is determined to get there immediately and show off his prowess as a Rapidash. But he gets the job done, and they're there immediately. Hope pulls Sleipnir into a stop, making sure Rin still stays on even as Sleipnir rears up before thumping his hooves against the ground one last time.

Hope gets down easily, and holds out a hand in case Rin needs it. But his focus is more on the ladies because they look like a sight for sore eyes.]

[Rin politely declines the offered hand, able at least to hit the ground himself. If nothing else, Riku's default coordination avails him there. He quietly says a thank-you intended for both Hope and Sleipnir, and then waits.

He's aware at least that these people are from Hope's world, and he gets the impression they may not have seen each other in some time. While he knows very little of social norms, he is aware this sort of thing is important to involved parties]

[And there they are. Odin, grazing by a nearby tree, raises his head to whinny out a greeting at his son with no small amount of pride for all that speed that got them here so fast.

Lightning, on the other hand, just smiles. It's warm and relieved for Hope, to whom she steps toward and puts a hand on his shoulder. If he'd been alone, if it had been just him and her and Vanille, she'd have hugged him. For now, with Rin there, she simply squeezes that shoulder and lets him see the look in her eyes as if that'll say everything.]

Glad you could make it.

[To Rin, the smile is smaller, a little wary because he looks so much like Riku and yet he isn't, but he gets a nod anyway. That glad you could make it extends to him, as well.]

[As soon as the two disembark, Vanille does open her eyes and rush over, a large smile on her face - both for Hope, and for this new... friend? She'd never seen him, over the network or otherwise, but if he is with Hope... well.

But she's not going to be quiet. She is letting out a few happy sounds, but she's gonna speak her mind. (The Kabuto, on her back? It's still clinging for dear life.]

There you are, Hope!

[Hear that cheer? She's been counting down however long it'd take so see him. It's lucky that Lightning told her he was all grown up - but don't mind her walking around you and checking you out, Hope.

She does offer a wave and smile to Rin, as well.]

[Vanille's smile is just as he remembers and-- He has to stop that train of thought right there, because obviously, it's just like yesterday that she'd seen him. And as a small boy at that.

She seems to be taking his sudden adulthood well though, so no doubt Light had told her about this.

He takes Light's hand in greeting, and holds out the other for Vanille] Hello, Vanille. It's been a long time.

[If he holds onto Light's hand a little longer than usual... well. She's his sister.

Oh wait, he has a friend along-- He turns to include Rin as well.] This is Rin. I hope you don't mind having him around. [Aka Hope has a new lab buddy.]
