Summary: Someone thought boxing his gastly would keep it under control. Someone was wrong.
Rating: PG-13 at most for language I guess


Something felt off today. Something had felt off all week really, but today the effect was particularly pronounced. Liberty must have noticed it as well, as he was still in his ball when America woke up, rather than perched at the head of his bed as he usually was.

That was no reason not to train though! He grabbed a quick breakfast and headed outside to get started with the day's routine.]

[Another day, another bit of exploring the Ruins to see what was there for Botan to meet with. Though as she's heading out, someone seems to be in the way.]

Ah, excuse me?

[Then she hears the cry of a Gastly.]

...No dear, loafing around doesn't have anything to do with bread.

[America wished he could claim that he had not fallen on his ass. It was embarrassing, being a grown man and a superpower and falling on your ass. But when a ghost pops out of your ball and screams at you when you were expecting your beloved fluffy eagle baby, well, what do you expect.]

[WHOA--she backs up a few feet and stares down at him.]

Hmmm...well, things have been going a little strange lately, I've been keeping all of mine out of the box and up in my room. Maybe your strange happening was this?

And where's Liberty?! [Frantically he throws out the rest of his pokeballs. A bellsprout, and a caterpie. The other three are empty.]

[He picks up the pokeball again and tosses it at the gastly. It... goes right through.] Frick!

You're scared of ghosts? You really have nothing to fear from them, a lot of them don't intend to hurt anyone. This isn't a horror movie.

Of course not, I've been to America a few times before and it's quite lovely...but it's not a name. Give me a real name, please. First name, last name, initials?

I'm not insulting your citizens, just you by saying that America is a foolish name for a young man. It's fine for a girl, but not a man.

I can't believe that this Gastly has to deal with someone that thinks he's America.

Because it's yours, and also that's not a viable solution to being afraid of ghosts. That's just running away from the problem.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't screaming and being repulsed by an object usually indicative of fear? If this is some macho thing, there's no shame in being afraid of something.
