It had been a long journey from New Bark to this new city. Despite the advice of the guide, he'd chosen to undertake the journey on his own, rather than bring others along. It had been, at the time, a good opportunity to adjust to life outside of his duties. It helped to have time to adapt to dying and then...not, too.

The guide did help in allowing for him to anticipate the creatures that would attack and where they would, although not quite how many eventually did. When it was evident the creature following him was as useful in battle as it was in attempting to meditate, he'd been forced to intervene himself. Thus the journey had been an exhausting one. Being forced to rely on pure taijutsu as well was...no help to that exhaustion, nor the injuries he sustained from the fights.

In times of rest, his resting had been hampered either by the antics of the creature following him (despite his encouragement, it refused to cease following him) and its inability to quietly meditate, or by the music forever drilling into his head.

Indeed, it had been an unexpectedly long and exhausting trip.

Those in Cherrygrove would notice of the newest arrivals, that the pokemon trainer, not the pokemon, is the one who stands battered, bruised, and even still bleeding from the most recent battle. The pokemon itself is barely scuffed at all. They have healing facilities for humans, don't they?
