Beach Trip!!!

Who: Imogen, Foofyku, Sora if he wants to join in the fun.
Where: Olivine
When: 7/14, starting in the morning.
Summary: Immy wants to see friends, and the beach! Best plan.
Rating: S for silly!

Aglon, the musically attentive Aerodactyl circled low to the city as Imogen hopped off with Talent pacing aside her. Hopping from one invisible reflect step to the next till she was safe on the ground. Taking a moment to recall her friendly dinosaur and pocket the ball. She hadn't packed for a long trip. She had a daypack with some beach-friendly Pokemon, her ocarina, the ever important towel, various beach supplies, and cupcakes! Because what's a trip without snacks?

Imogen spun around, she wasn't... dressed to really visit anything but the beach. A minty green hoodie that reached her mid thigh, which meant the sleeves were just a bit too long. Under it she had a red and purple bikini that was rather modest. She spun on her flipflops to see if she could just spot Foofyku and Sora. They did know she was coming, at least Foofyku did. ...It would help if she could actually see, but her big goofy sunglasses weren't prescription.

"Okay Talent, let's go find some fun!"

[Well, it can't be that hard to spot Riku, given his mess of shoulder-length silver hair. ...Or the fact that he's currently getting hosed down by a Blastoise who looks all too happy to be drenching somebody.

Thankfully, she stops at the sight of Imogen approaching and even shoves Riku her way. Cue one stumbling, soaked teen.

But it's not like beaches and water don't go hand in hand, so he'll go ahead and wave.]

Been wondering when you'd show up.

I had to make cupcakes!

*Since this was an impulsive event she hadn't asked or spoken to the ponies. Thus it would be rude to bring any of Pinkie Pie's confection creations. Imogen gives her usual twirl and curtsy greeting, this time lifting the front corners of her hoodie like they were a skirt, to be proper. Smiling with four parts glee to one part playful.*

It's been a while, longer for me because trip home, but normally you can find water plentifully at the beach. Unless it's covered in snow.

I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long, so long you had to improvise for water!

If I knew you were bringing food, I would've set up a cloth or a towel somewhere for you to put them.

[As for water, he shoots a glance to his overzealous Blastoise.]

And don't worry. You didn't take too long; sometimes it's just easier to cool off with giant water cannons.

That would defeat the purpose of a surprise.

*Imogen slung her backpack to in front of her and dug around a moment. Tossing out a Pokeball casually like she just wanted it out of the way. Of course, that wasn't it at all, and Brenn the Blastoise joined them on the beach. One of Zen's children.*

I thought you two might want to catch up.

So... *Immy tilted her head, making her twintails hang lopsidedly.* What do we do first?

[Zen is totally down for this, brosis. As soon as Brenn appears, she'll stomp over to him, letting out a good, hearty roar.

Meanwhile, Riku's going to just hang with Immy and ignore the giant tortoise beasts.]

Well, that depends on what you want to do. Swimming's the easy option, but we don't have to limit ourselves.

[He could try to convince Flare to set up a net for a game of volleyball, for one thing. Riku's not sure if surfing is Immy's thing, after all.]

Family is so cute.

*Big, loud, growly roary cute, but cute.*

Um... I definitely want to go swimming because it's waaaay too hot, but I also want to build a sandcastle and explore some caves!

*Well, at last the list is all possible.*

I'd suggest we flip a coin, but with more than two options, that's probably not gonna fly.

[Heh. Cave exploration does sound pretty awesome, though...]

Could start small and work our way up. Build a castle, hit the water, and then scope out some caves?

...Sounds like a plan!

*Imogen and Talent didn't spare a second glance to head out and find a spot to start building. She set her plastic container of cupcakes to the side, and pulled out a collapsible bucket and a small trowel.

Hey, what fun would it be if I just stood here watching? Of course I'll help.

[In fact, he's wandering over to her straight away. Sand castle's aren't as action packed as surfing, but hey. He could use a little relaxation.]

*Well, good she didn't need to be convincing on this. Although she was sure he'd have fun watching her make a sandcastle. Because she's awesome.*

We'll need a plan first.

*Imogen pulled out her sketchpad and a pencil, and started sketching. She occasionally stopped and glanced to Talent, clearly communicating, then resumed. Finally she turned it around and it had 18 parapets.*

Talent says it's too much.

[He snorts, watching as she makes the blueprint. By the time she's done, he taps his chin a few times and shrugs.]

Maybe a bit extreme, but not undoable. More like... time consuming. You really want to spend a few hours making a huge castle out of sand?

I suppose there are better things to do... it's a bit too warm for that much time on the beach. Half-

*Talent trilled.*

...a quarter, then? Is that more time efficient?

Way more efficient. I just wish I'd brought more buckets.

[But he hadn't really thought about making sand sculptures, so they'll just have to make do. Regardless, Riku's already got his eyes on some wet sand that they can use as a basis.]

Well, Talent is more than willing to help, which will make all the walls of the castle a lot easier. Are any of your Pokemon good at sandcastles?

*This is entirely something every Pokemon trainer plans for when they set out from New Bark. They have a strategy for sandcastle building with Pokemon, or they should!*

I could see if any of my ground types want to pitch in. After all, working with dirt and sand's second nature to them.

[Even if they don't typically apply their skills in artistic ways.]

Well, get them out here!

*Imogen and Talent are already starting on the front wall of the castle. Talent put a Reflect barrier up and Imogen is packing sand against it. This means the wall will be even on one side without her needing to slice at it with her trowel.*

Just gimme a sec. Gotta round them up, first.

[So he'll dash off for a moment. Luckily, Flare's close enough that he can give his trainer a quick lift.

And by the time Riku returns (which shouldn't be more than a few minutes), he'll have a Krookodile, Nidoking, and Excadrill in tow.

Maybe he's overdoing it, but hey. Who can say no to a little extra help?]

*Idle hands do the devil's work. Or in this case have built a front wall and two towers... which Immy has made taller by digging into the sand and just keeping the same lines as the packed down sand from her bucket.*

Is it alright if Talent and your friends communicate through telepathy, it would make working out jobs a bit faster?

Did you bring a spare bucket while you were gone?

*Things Imogen probably should have asked before Foofyku left.*

[Bucket? Slacker, Riku's Nidoking, grunts and turns around, revealing a bucket stuck to the tip of his tail. He turns around a few times, trying to shake it off before Riku swipes it up and places it on the ground.]

All taken care of. And telepathy? I say go for it. These guys are all used to it.

Yay!

*Imogen nods to Talent, who drops the Reflect. Proving he wall is indeed stable. And everyone, person and Poke, gets a mental projection of what the castle looks like in Talent's imagination... but he's a perfectionist so it's ridiculously detailed.*

*Then each party member has most of the castle fade, so they are left with only the parts they are working on remain. Images are so much easier than words, at least as far as Imogen and Talent are concerned.*

Everyone got all that!? Let's do this!

[The Pokémon all give varying roars and grunts of approval. Well, mostly approval. Slacker looks down at the sand and fidgets a little. This all sounds so intricate!

Meanwhile, Fault the Excadrill is already starting to prep for his own little contributions, and Dune the Krookodile's crouching down to start work on a tower.

Snickering under his breath, Riku scoops up some sand in one of the buckets.]

*Talent will use his Reflects to help Slacker out. The others seem a bit more prepped and ready.*

*Imogen is working on another tower as she watches Riku with his buckets and sand. This is definitely how she would want to spend a day at the beach. Definitely got herself smiling without even avoiding thoughts of home. And definitely not what she expected Riku to agree to (Hee, those sounds similar!) for their beach day.*
