Ain't no party like a ninja party

Summary: Sasuke gets a birthday party whether he wants one or not. Lucky for him, he has friends (in spite of his best efforts) who'll plan one.
Rating: G? PG for violence

[ooc; general mingle log for Blackthorn City/Sasuke's birthday. Most of it will probably take place at the hotsprings itself, though like the 'who' says, it's completely open to anyone just walking by and wondering what the big deal is, or someone who's already there and then has their pleasant soak interrupted by a bunch of dumb ninjas.]

[All that food looks really good. Tenten hadn't even thought of making something herself, so this looks just about perfect. She's not about to start eating without thanking the chef, though!]

[And she bounds up, practically beaming.]

I'm really glad you came.

I couldn't miss it! I mean, I could, if I were still asleep and at home. Or trapped in a cave. Or fighting off Martians. Or- the point is barring anything like that, I couldn't miss it!

I've never been to a hotsprings party before.

Well, I'm glad you made it. Even with all those other things that could have happened.

[A little impulsively, she actually lunges forward for a hug. It's been a while, and after Joonhee disappeared, she's taking every advantage to let her non-ninja friends know she cares.]

It'll be fun! [She pulls back with another smile.] Basically you just sit in the baths and let the water relax you, talk to friends. This is the first time I've ever been in a hot spring with a bathing suit on, though.

*Fortunately, if there is one thing Imogen is very fond of? It's hugs. So the sudden Tenten hug is okay!*

Well, it'd be weird for people without the swimsuits. Besides, then I couldn't show off how cute my suit is!

Not really? [She rests a hand on her hip and offers a one-shouldered shrug.] I mean, the point of a hotspring is to relax and let the water do stuff with your skin and pores and muscles, and the bathing suit kind of restricts some of that.

[But then again...]

At least this way we can do mixed bathing, though. Usually the onsen are separated by gender.

I guess, but with people around... *Imogen is getting used to being naked around people she knows really well, and have zero nudity taboo. The idea of naked with strangers terrifies her just a smidge. Gender not exactly an issue.*

Who picked this as the party venue?

Well you wear a towel before you get in the water, but yeah, you're naked in the water.

[It's normal in her culture! She gets another wide grin at the question though, clasping both hands behind her back.]

Naruto-kun and me did. It's a lot like home.

Yeah...? I mean, sure, there's girls who'll sit there and do nothing but complain about their boobs, but who has time for that?

[Not Tenten, that's for sure! She'd rather complain about sore muscles, thanks.

Though really, Imogen. Have an unimpressed pout.]

*One of those odd complete disconnects Imogen finds with the ninja kids. They are so hardened by battle, and loss, and general crapsack to their lives they are completely innocent about love, and sex, and kids are cruel meaniefaces that make fun of each other!*

[The cruel meaniefaces don't usually make it through the Academy. +1 good thing for ninja-land...?

She keeps her cheeks puffed out a moment longer before losing the pout in exchange for a smile.]

Anyway, I'm still really glad you're here. Have you seen Sasuke yet?

Not yet! How much is he sulking?

*Not that she can claim to know Sasuke that well, but he sulks like all the time so... this doesn't seem to be much exception.*

A little less than usual, actually!

[She squirms a little. Can she tell her? She can totally tell Imogen, right? She has to tell someone or she's going to go nuts.]

Can I tell you a secret? You have to promise not to tell anyone else.

*Imogens are perceptive little things, and well aware of body language and what they say. And Tenten's body says she wishes she had more knives on her... and that she's dying to share something, something she's nervous and or ashamed of. ...But Imogen's are also expert poker players when they want to be.*

Is it an advice secret, a happy secret, or a you need help burying the evidence secret? I'm good with any of them, I just want to know in advanced, to prepare!

[No really, if the ninja had to bury evidence, she wouldn't get Imogen involved, that'd just be rude and unprofessional.]

But you seriously can't tell anyone if I tell you.

[Dead serious, she holds up her hand for a pinky-swear.]

*Imogen's pretty good at knowing when her secrets are happy secrets or not, but maybe not everyone else is. She takes a moment to put on her serious face, nod, and pinkie swear on the subject.*

Should we go to the changing room? Less people to overhear there.

Yeah, okay!

[She grabs Imogen's wrist to tug her that direction, peeking in the changing room to make sure it's empty before tugging her inside and shutting the door.]

Omen, on the door!

*Imogen's 'shadow' had of course followed them to the changing room. He looked a little nonplussed at the idea of door watching duty but he stopped there while Imogen was dragged into the changing room by Tenten.*

Okay, I'm ready, so what's all this about already!?

*She didn't sound angry, but far too curious for her own good.*

[Tenten just turns on her and clasps both hands behind her back, practically beaming. Since there was no one else in the changing room for now, it was safe, right? She tries for a conspiratorial tone, but she's way too excited for that.]

I kissed Sasuke!

*So... Imogen, as a pinnacle of maturity and restraint, squeals VERY LOUDLY before she catches that she is about as subtle as a fire alarm and clamps both hands over her mouth. And even with her mouth covered you can see she's grinning with untamed excitement!*

How was it? Does he know how to kiss? Did he kiss back? Was he surprised? Did he do that thing he does when he gets flustered? How long have you liked him? Does he like you back!?

*Sadly this is a thing with Imogen.*

Shh, shh!!

[She pats her hands in the air as if it might help, but her own voice isn't much slower or better.]

I have no idea if he knows how, he didn't really kiss back 'cause I kind of sprung it on him and took him by surprise, so I think I confused him! And I texted John but he said that's kind of normal so not to freak out, and I haven't talked to him again yet to see if he likes me back yet, but the important thing is that I made the first move, right?!

Yes! Very important because he would never make the first move with all his baggage.

*Imogen will just energetically hug Tenten because that is the right move.*

Just keep on him, he'll show something like emotion eventually. He'd be crazy not like you back.

[Definitely accepting that hug, she squeezes her tightly before pulling back to clasp her hands behind her back again.]

I hope that's true! I'm going to try for it, at least! And if he doesn't return my feelings, well, I mean, I have to get more badges in Kanto anyway, so then I don't have to see him!
