Where: Blackthorn City (mainly hotsprings but also anywhere)

Summary: Sasuke gets a birthday party whether he wants one or not. Lucky for him, he has friends (in spite of his best efforts) who'll plan one.
Rating: G? PG for violence

[ooc; general mingle log for Blackthorn City/Sasuke's birthday. Most of it will probably take place at the hotsprings itself, though like the 'who' says, it's completely open to anyone just walking by and wondering what the big deal is, or someone who's already there and then has their pleasant soak interrupted by a bunch of dumb ninjas.]

[ Well, there's no way that's good. Why is she dumping food into her dress? Sakura's met a number of strange people and well, she's kind of lived with Kushina before!

So something's up. Way up. As Naruto's teammate, isn't it her responsibility to make sure he didn't screw something up everything was alright?

Even if it means possibly getting food thrown into her own lap, she approaches bravely. ]

[Aaaaaaand that would be Kushina scrambling a little as she realizes she's been sort of caught. While she's trying not to look like she's hiding anything... she fails pretty badly at it. Nervous hands running over her hair as she attempts to further hide the Vulpix.]

A-ah! Uh... Sakura, right? You can just call me Kushina! That's fine, really!

Is that the secret to keeping your hair so beautiful?

[ Instantly regretting her words after she says that, Sakura flinches. ] I mean--augh, alright! Kushina it is!

[ She can't backpedal any faster than she already is. ]

[Well well, third person to ever call her hair beautiful. She freezes for a moment until she feels a snout bump into her stomach. She quickly grabs the first piece of food in reach and stuffs it behind her hair to where Kyuubi was hidden. Should've just told him to go back inside with a promise for food later, but the gentle cry...

Damn Minato for talking her into thinking over her original decision for a few days. She was going soft for the critter... And now it left her laughing awkwardly as the food was slowly gobbled down.]

Uh... y-yeah! Yeah, that's my secret, y'know! You caught me! Ahaha... ha...haha....

[ No, anything but!! ] I've been worried about my own hair since there are times I can go days without washing it. Sometimes I think when I'm in the sun too much it grows faded--that happens to clothes, so it can happen to hair too, right?

[ Taking a step closer. ] Let's see, what are you using?

A-ah, nothing special, y'know. Just uh... ah...

[Without looking down, she pats around the table before pulling some wedge-like thing out of the salad bowl. When she realizes what she's holding out to Sakura, she forces her smile wider. Looking like a complete weirdo beat out getting caught with the Pokemon she had been so adamant not to let anywhere near her a few days ago... Except there was one problem added. The thing she had grabbed was leaving some kind of juice all over her hand. It was a tomato wedge.

Fuck.]

Ah, I see.

[ Proudly and without any realization what that word might mean to her: ] Tomatoes! What a great choice!

[ RIP Sakura. RIP. ]

[And that's when the facade slips... Just that one word. Tomato. Too many strong memories from her childhood. Kushina's hand clenches into a fist quickly. The tomato wedge within it explodes gunk all over her hand and out of every crack it can find. Her smile is gone. Completely gone.]

...I hate tomatoes.

[Her fist comes up to eye level shaking slightly. As her temper flares, she jumps to her feet, unseating Kyuubi who darts under the table. And is that her hair starting to flare up too? Why yes... yes it is.]

I've never liked tomatoes, ya know! They're gross and slimy and bitter! [And all that gunk and slime on the inside of her hand is gonna get shaken off before coming back in a fist. At least she hasn't started swinging yet...?] The only good tomatoes are squished tomatoes that you can't eat anymore!!!

[ Remaining amusingly unaware of how much danger she's in, Sakura's quick to defend the vegetable/fruit/food item. ]

Yeah, but they're really good to eat. When you feel a cold coming on, you can get a nice bowl of soup with them or I enjoy them a lot when I have to eat noodles with Naruto. They're really not that ba--oh, your hair is a lot brighter now! It does remind me of a tomato.

[ Naruto, please save the not!gf from the mother....... ]

[And then her temper blows and she no longer cares about maintaining her "secret". Her hair waves around wildly as she gets to her feet and advances on Sakura. Kyuubi, having been unseated so suddenly, lands on his side and darts under the table to watch for when it's safe to come out and beg for more food.]

I AM NOT A TOMATO, YA KNOW!!!

[And then she lets a fist swing at the top of Sakura's head.]

[ So this is what it feels like to be Naruto Uzumaki. She recoils naturally from the hit and steps back with one of her feet in an attempt to maintain her balance. ]

I didn't call you a tomato, you crazy woman! [ Unfortunately for Kushina, someone else also has a temper.

Pulling up one of her sleeves, she holds her fist towards her threateningly. It lasts for less than a couple seconds before she steps forward with a swing of her own, courtesy of lessons from Tsunade. ]
