Summary: Sasuke gets a birthday party whether he wants one or not. Lucky for him, he has friends (in spite of his best efforts) who'll plan one.
Rating: G? PG for violence

[ooc; general mingle log for Blackthorn City/Sasuke's birthday. Most of it will probably take place at the hotsprings itself, though like the 'who' says, it's completely open to anyone just walking by and wondering what the big deal is, or someone who's already there and then has their pleasant soak interrupted by a bunch of dumb ninjas.]

But, I will say that you and I can definitely drink when you're 18, so just wait then.

[She's not even sure if she'll make it to be that old, but she laughs a little uncomfortably.]

My student? [ Tsunade's a little confused at this. ]

No. Well, not exactly. Gai sometimes brought me in to train you guys in evasion and strength exercises, but you never exactly became my student. Seeing your talent with weapons, I offered you to learn about alternative sealing methods and, as a result, found you people so you could store more weapons with minimal effort.

[Naruto kind of implied it??! Did you hear that sound though, that was the sound of her dreams smashing against the ground. She'll try for a laugh, though?]

Well, I was never any good at medical ninjutsu anyway. I guess Naruto-kun was just confused.

You're much better at more offensive techniques than medical ninjutsu. It'd be a disservice to your talents if we were to stick you under my wing, especially since your taijutsu style relies more on form, accuracy and speed compared to mine. [ She'll save Tenten from Eternal Shame. ]

You're a fantastic kunoichi and I recognize it from the bat and sought to make you the strongest you could ever be, and, sometimes, that recognition comes with the realization that your growth would be best held under other people's. [ Does this make her better now Tenten? ]

[Yes it does. Not expecting quite that much praise, she's not completely sure how to handle it, cheeks flushing red as she clasps both hands behind her back.]

R-really? I mean-- thank you, Tsunade-sama! I'll do my best to live up to that, even if I can't train the same way here as I do at home.

I wouldn't quite say that. There are many weapons that are versatile and even magical on some level, and these pokémon are quite like them except they're a bit more difficult to satisfy. You're definitely proving your worth as a weapon's master here.

[She really can't respond to that immediately, clearing her throat and just bowing her head to acknowledge it.]

That... that means a lot, coming from you, Tsunade-sama.

I hope it would. Kages don't give out compliments unless there are bright sides, or they need to keep people on the right track.

Good. A little positive reinforcement goes a long way, but you never want to give out too much because they become attached to it.

I'll make sure to remember that for my own team, too. I don't think that's going to be much of a problem, though.

I do! But I don't really praise them unless they do well. They know I expect the best they've got, and that it's different for each of them. Most of them work to make me proud.

That's the way to do it. Let them know they're the boss but you're the president. [ Tsunade could be a rapper lbr. ]

I don't suppose you have any advice for me?

[She tilts her head and gestures with one hand.]

My Milotic, Baoyu. He's more concerned with sunning himself or swimming and, well, not battling. Do you have any advice for motivating him?

Not really. Just make sure you evaluate all likely possibilities and some unlikely ones. Also make sure your synergy between teammates is how you envisioned. Sometimes, some teams just don't work out.

Hmmm.. if that's the case, I'd use sunning or swimming as a reward, or, better yet, make his swimming attempts interrupted with training and battles.
