Got the Eggs, where's the bacon?
Who: Tony Stark (
arrogantalloy ), Carol Danvers (
tookthename ), Steve Rogers (
starspangledavenger ), Hope Estheim (
eagletalons )
Where: Along route 46
When: July 30
Summary: While on the move, Tony's last egg hatches. And she doesn't enjoy what she sees so far.
Rating: G -PG
Tony, didn't have much time to read up on his newly obtained Ambipom, ButterFingers, from the other day before Harry rumbles at him from behind, holding out a shuddering egg at him. He stares at the egg for a moment, before looking up at the others.
"Hey, gonna need hot water and towels back here. You know, if anyone's even interested."
Tony reaches out his hand to the Charizard who reluctantly gives up egg and his most loved duty of egg sitting but continues to hover nearby to see what's going on. Glancing around, Tony goes to sit on a log as he puts the egg on his lap as it continues to shake, rattle and glow. The egg hatches to reveal the little Eevee girl inside, after she blinks and looks around with an analytical gaze, her ear twitching curiously at the Lopunny beaming happily down at her, then up at Tony not sure if she should be unimpressed or not.
"Yeah, believe me. I've seen that look more times than I can remember."

Steve follows from behind and looks at the scene. Tony is kind of cute holding a baby Eevee like that, he can't help his smile. He casts a gaze down at Amber, noticing her transfixed gaze of love. "Congratulations, Amber. What're going to name it, Tony?" There's something familiar about the look on that Eevee's face. He looks over at Grace. Maybe they'll get along.

Tony has a ghost Pokémon, and Hope cant stand ghosts. Never will. It's why Paddra is outside of her ball.
But he cant deny that he wants to see a new baby Eevee. So he positions himself closer to Steve than to Tony and stares down. That has to be the most unimpressed face he's ever seen on an Eevee.
"You would need to know the gender first, I imagine."

Carol chuckles at the look of the little ball of fluff's face. "She already has the default 'dealing with Tony' expression." She's kidding, of course.
Kindano subject
Well the the look it gave me, it's probably female. Only women and the spandex patriot give me that look. And hey, that's your mom. How about manners?"
He added after feeling her move make, the Eevee's ear flickers as if not liking him scold her, even as casually as he did, looking at Amber again she nods a hello to her, otherwise keeping quiet. As Tony continues talking about her.
"Okay, that's not the dealing with Tony face. Believe me, I get that particular look from Pepper and Rhodie enough to know tha- Why am I even going on about this. I'm holding a baby, who's mean to someone holding a baby?"
no subject
Before much else can be said or done on Steve's end, Amber squeals in pure joy and launches at the baby, totally forgetting who's holding the Eevee in favor of her baby. She is careful enough to not knock off her baby, but she starts giving her kisses and rubs and giving happy little sounds.

But he remembers-- there's someone else who should be around for this, and he releases his own Espeon from his ball.
Hope-the-Espeon though, he looks up quizzically at the new Eevee before crawling up his human's leg to come to a rest on his shoulders. Is that his?
Really?
... Well okay then. He makes good babies. She looks more like her mother though.

Carol hangs back next to Hope, not wanting to crowd the new one too much. Helen chitters happily at the new baby and her parents, congratulating them, telling them how cute the new one is, suggesting that maybe this one might fly or something.
"I'll tell you the story from my world later." Carol mutters to Hope, rather recognizing that look of 'yet another lost reference' on his face.

"Baby's give everyone immunity, keep up."
His eyebrow's raise as Amber jumps up onto him to get to the baby. Which he wasn't going to complain about, because lets face it, he was holding her baby after all. The Eevee however, really wasn't going to have any of it. She backs up against Tony's belly and with the affection not stopping she scrambles up onto Tony's shoulder to get away. Giving a face of great enthusiasm for what her mother was doing. During this, Tony addresses Carol.
"Yeah, this is not the kind of reward for your love that I wa-ah?"
He looks at the Eevee on his shoulder, then at Amber.
"I'm thinking she's not loving this, grape soda."

It's the moment that her daughter rejects her and Tony speaks to her that Amber realizes she's on his lap. She gives him an absolutely terrified look before whimpering and bolting for Steve, her confidence shaken enough that she misses the jump to climb onto Steve's shoulder. After falling to the ground, she instead hides behind his legs in despair.
"Come along now," Steve wastes no time gathering the tightly curled Amber in his arms and holds her close. There was a moment there that he'd hoped she was over her fear of Tony, but it seems not.
no subject
Probably one of those things that he'd want to scrub out of his brain somehow.
Though Hope reaches out to scratch Amber between the ears for all her troubles. Poor thing-- he doesn't know what she's thinking or what exactly her problem are, but well, seeing as how the Eevee had retreated from her. His Espeon meanwhile travels from his shoulder to Steve's to chirp reassuringly at Amber.
no subject
Carol never really noticed that Amber didn't like Tony. Now that she thinks about it she can't remember seeing Amber ever get near Tony while they're traveling.
no subject
"Okay, really? She's still hung up on that? That was what, weeks ago?"
Because to be honest, Tony is really confused about her being scared of him. Mostly due to after the they startled each other, Tony had all but moved on from it. So he didn't understand why she's still worrying about it.
The Eevee watches her mother's reaction, then looks at Tony. Then comes to the conclusion that up on Tony's shoulders is a really good place to stay.

"She's over sensitive and you kind of treated her like she was the spawn of Hitler when it all went down. I was just happy when she stopped refusing to come out of her ball when you were around." He pauses for a second before adding, "And I'm sure Grace has been making it worse," he knows her and the fact she would take advantage of having another force on her anti-Tony campaign.
He looks at Hope and Carol, adding to her explanation, "Tony has a fetish for imagining I wear the stuff, even if I never have." And yes he knowingly and purposely used the word fetish.
no subject
There's a bit of chagrin in his voice that he cant keep out because really. Really. He just said it and they made it so much worse.
Especially now that he cant shake thoughts of Steve in skin-tight fabrics, considering the only type of stretchy fabrics he does know can be tight around the body like a second skin.
He has to stop those mental images right there.
no subject
"So why doesn't Amber like Tony?"
no subject
Tony rolls his eyes, and tries to get the Eevee off his shoulders, but she just moves to his other shoulder whenever he's close to reaching her then gives up when Steve mentions this apparent fetish, he raises his eyebrow at Steve he looks as if he's about to exclaim 'yeah right', but instead he just gives him a slow unashamed smouldering look. Without taking his eyes off Steve he answers Carol, intent on finding out how long it will take Steve to look away.
"She's a psychic type. I didn't except her to excitedly scream in my brain and fell out of my chair loudly."
no subject
Amber makes a distressed noise at the suggestion.
no subject
He scratches her behind an ear, as his own Espeon twines around Steve's neck and plays with her tail.
no subject
"She will come around eventually, Tony just takes some time to get use to."
no subject
"Well at least I know she wont be in my head for the foreseeable future at least. But hey, I'm all for giving her time. And well, really if I knew it was a thing she could do. Then I wouldn't have nearly had a reactor failure."
Hearing Hope, Tony would have loved to give him a bland look and comment, but he's still refusing to look away from Steve.
The Eevee stares at the encroaching hand for a moment, then realising it isn't going to make a grab for her, lets the pat happen though she still looks ready to just move away at any second.
"You know, you have this bad habit of talking about me like I'm not here. You know that right?"
